In a recent snowstorm, both of our family cars were damaged by a hit and run driver while sitting in our driveway. My wife's car was hit hard enough to shove it several feet backwards into my car and crack the bumper. I have never had anything but bad experiences using body shops, but my wife found these guys and they were fantastic. Mario was polite, professional, and far more helpful than anyone I've ever dealt with at any sort of auto shop. The folks at State took care of everything flawlessly, dealt directly with the insurance company on everything, handled my wife's car being totaled out, and kept me informed on the progress of my car's repairs every step of the way. I got my 10 year old car back looking almost as good as the day I drove it off the lot. My husband and I are very impressed with the customer service at State Auto Body. I got completely hosed by a mechanic in college, so I am always nervous when dealing with car stuff. I needed to replace the bumper and got quotes from three places. One place was downright sketchy; the guy told me to pay cash and wrote the quote on a business card. The second place was reputable but felt like a factory. By the time I got to State Auto Body, I'm pretty sure they could smell my fear. Steve and Mario at State Auto Body were great. They walked me through the estimate and were willing to answer any questions. It was immediately clear that this was a reputable local business that valued its customers. Even though the quote came in higher than the other two places, I knew this is where I wanted to bring my car. State Auto Body kept to timeline and estimated price. When I called with questions, they immediately had an answer or called me back within an hour. When I brought the car home, my husband noticed that part of the bumper seemed to be raised. We brought back the car, and they rectified the situation quickly. We understand that things happen occasionally; what matters is how a business addresses the issue. The owners of this shop, Mario and Steve, and their team do great work! I only spoke with Mario throughout the process and it was a pleasure doing business with Mario because he was very responsive to questions, went the extra mile to sort things out with the insurance company responsible for our claim and ultimately delivered fantastic results with our Honda Civic. My neighbor recommended Mario, who he has known for decades, and we were glad to take the car to his shop knowing we could trust the folks there. I called ahead before bringing the car over and Mario arranged for someone from Christy's Auto Rental to have a rental car brought over for me. All the insurance paperwork was handled and I didn't have much to do before heading out with a time estimate of about 4 weeks for the repairs and a 2017 Chevy Trax to drive for a while. When I brought the car in the back bumper was shattered on the left side, the rear quarter panel was damaged and there was minor damage to one of the front wheels because the car had spun and hit a barrier (after getting nailed by someone who hit us while she was running a red light on a snowy evening). Once the car was up on a lift it became clear the adjuster missed some things and quoted us for used parts that would have been inadequate for the type of damage done. It took a while for an Allstate adjuster to get back out there so that delayed the work that did ultimately take longer than we initially expected. Over the course of several weeks my husband and I spoke with Mario occasionally to see how things were going and he was always good about explaining what was going on. We finally got the car back yesterday and are so happy with how good it looks. The car is about 9 years old but it now looks nearly brand new thanks both to the body work and the absolutely fantastic detailing work that was done. The guys in the shop detailed the interior, too, which was nice and completes the feeling of the car being returned good as new. We will not hesitate to go back to State Auto Body in the future. Fingers crossed that it will just be for cosmetic work like fixing some flaking paint on the roof or something like having a hitch for a bike rack installed. I came here because of the great reviews and now I see why. I had something wrong with my window going up and down and came in for an estimate. My window at the time was sliding down and looked very ugly due to all the tape I used to try to keep it up but they put the window up and made it look decent for the time being. I came in a week later to have it fixed and now I'm back to getting coffee in drive thrus like a normal person instead of opening my door lol. Steve is an absolute lifesaver! Had to get the driver side mirror replaced and was visiting from out of state for only two days.
