Douglas was accommodating and a speedy worker- patched our tire in record time! Will definitely be back any time we have issues with our truck. Highly recommended! read more

Great experience at Honest Mechanix. Went in for an oil change and tire rotation. Quick service, nice waiting room.

I had originally taken my car to the Toyota dealership and was told I needed my windshield wiper motor replaced costing several hundred dollars. A lie! as my dad looked at the car and the motor was fine. Here, they tightened the linkage for my windshield wipers free of charge which def holds them to their name of Honest Mechanix... Also checked my car for me and needed front brake pad/rotors replaced $420 and a synthetic oil change $78. I say this pricing is very fair. I called on Monday and this business was the only one who picked up first call, gave me a quote over the phone and arranged for me to drop off the vehicle next morning. I was greeted right away walking in. They have a decent size lot to park. I was in and out during drop off, quick to take care of me on the call and in and out for pickup. Def recommend. They did the work all in half a day for me. Only critiques is after oil change they mistyped the date as 8/29 and the actual date was 9/29 for a reminder on when to get the next oil change. read more

Doug the owner is very personable and I believe he is honest and fair. Does good work

So, I got online and read a bunch of reviews and decided to try Honest Mechanix in Pawtucket. It's an easy 10 minute drive from the East Side, Providence. After repeated (4 times!) frustated failures fixing my exhaust system with my East Side neighborhood garage, I was ready for a new experience. I explained my issue to Doug, the owner, when I arrived. Later that day, I get a call back. "Did you drive the car?" "I did, but I could hear the sound before I even left the lot. You've got a problem with a rusted out manifold. It shifts under hard acceleration. We could even see it move on the lift when we accelerated." BINGO! my guess had been right all along! They did what I had originally asked, found the problem immediately, and visually confirmed the problem. And, now, are you ready for this? DOUG DID NOT WANT TO CHARGE ME A RED CENT for his work! "It's just a little thing and we didn't do anything except rehang the muffler correctly - that was making the sound in the back." Crazy! I insisted that I pay him and he let me pay his standard diagnostic fee. Now, the car isn't fixed yet as the manifold bolts were too far rusted for his shop to do, but my hunch was confirmed and Doug gave me the names of two exhaust specialists he trusts. I can't tell you how impressed I am with Doug and his crew and their honesty and work ethic. The world is a better place because of them. Seriously. I have absolutely no affiliation with Honest Mechanix or Doug, the owner. I just want his business to succeed on the merits of the work they do. They work on all brands of cars. I saw Volvos, Hondas, and Toyotas on the lot while I was there and he told me he works on Fiats, too. read more

Extremely Happy I found this Mechanic! They are professional, communicated every detail, quoted fair price and even adjusted it down when repair was not needed on a part. Honestly have only had this great experience with a mechanic shop a couple of times. Already recommended to a friend, who is setting up future appointments! Highly recommend Honest MechaniX! You cannot go wrong , I truly trust them. read more

After some so-so experiences on the East Side of Providence, I decided to give Honest Mechanix a try. I was not disappointed. The work (brakes, etc.) was done quickly, efficiently, and at a good price. I recommend them highly! read more

Team was able to perform a state inspection in a few days, very professional and had inspection done in 30 minutes

First time trying them out. I assume the owner was the one I dealt with. Very professional and kind, what a breath of fresh air! I just sat in the waiting area which was very clean with a TV which has Netflix Hulu etc. Awesome place. I had an appointment for an oil change at 8:30, was on the road before 9. Did not try to sell me anything and I know my car needs work for sure. I'd rather give my business to people like this who aren't trying to screw you or rip you off. I told the guy I would be back and I will. read more

An amazing place to bring your car! Quality service and a quality experience. I highly recommend it. I can't remember the name of the gentleman who helped me but he was very nice and professional! There is plenty of space to park so no having to worry about putting your car on the street and you also don't have to worry about being uncomfortable in the waiting area because it is clean and comfortable even with a tv so you can make a cup of coffee and watch your favorite Netflix show while you wait! Talk about a quality business start to finish. read more

Fast, friendly and good price. Standard 6cyl oil change for under 25 bucks. I normally do such things myself but for that price why not have them do it? read more

I've had several excellent experiences. Problems fully resolved by repairs. Highly recommend.

I was really happy to find this honest, affordable, and friendly car repair place. I drive an older car and live on a tight budget. Doug, the owner, was super helpful in pricing out the least expensive ways to get new or used parts for necessary repairs. His hourly rate for labor was way less than than other places I have been to. They have a really clean and comfortable waiting room with WiFi, coffee, and even a little play table for kids. Their motto is "mechanics you can trust" and they really lived up to it. read more

The service at this shop is as good as it gets! Douglas always answers the phone, always provides the assessment clearly, and does terrific repair work. I am so happy to have found Honest Mechanix! My relationship with this shop feels like my personal hometown mechanic -- they are not out to find things wrong and to over-charge -- they are truly honest and very personable. (As another customer remarked, where else can you find an oil change for under $25 nowadays!) Do yourself a favor and forge a relationship with this car repair shop. Thank you, Douglas! read more

To say the least, I was extremely impressed by this shop. I recently came in to Honest MechaniX with complaints about what seemed like noisy brakes on my Toyota Camry and asked for it to be checked out. Within no time, Doug, the owner, came back and gave a detailed description of what was going on with my car and the steps necessary to fix it, as well as a quote for the job. After scheduling an appointment, I came back in later on in the week for my brake job (rotors and pads all the way around). I've had my fair share of encounters with other mechanic shops all over Rhode Island and Massachusetts and never have I had a similar experience, because these guys were actually really really good. Other shops are usually trying to make as much money as possible and get your car out of the garage as fast as possible; sometimes not even fixing the problem at all. Not only was the customer service spot on and service expertly done but the price was also extremely reasonable. The owner explained to me how he's been in the automotive business for over 15 years and how he's trying to be straight forward with customers and provide professional service with the customer service to back it at his shop. To me, that was definitely a major selling point and I would totally recommend this place to anyone. Would come back again. I guess honesty really is the best policy. read more
