If you're looking for flavor, you won't find it here. The queso was bland beyond belief, and the meat? Yikes! The texture reminded me of the filling in a Jack in the Box taco (you know the kind), but somehow even worse. It had an off-putting flavor that made me question everything about this dish. But, Shani, were the crunchy tacos good? Not even close. The taco shells were stale--like, "Old El Paso box sitting in the pantry of a college student that doesn't know better who left it open for a year" stale. And then there was the meat again... let's just say I couldn't take more than a couple of bites. The rice? If you love cilantro, maybe you'll enjoy this, but for me, it was overkill. It felt like a mountain of cilantro with a few grains of rice sprinkled in for good measure. Balance? Nowhere to be found. Overall, this place is a HUGE no for me. Food should excite your taste buds, not make you wish you'd just stayed home with a frozen burrito. Hoping they can make some major changes because right now, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Cools fountains, quiet music, and the hustle and bustle of servers. We ordered quickly and our food followed shortly thereafter! WOW did everything blow us away. My favorite was the carnitas taco, but our waitress suggested the black bean sweet potato and I was pleasantly surprised with that selection as well. Honestly, it was a little strange in terms of food. I wanted a chicken quesadilla but the waitress told me she could only give me a kids size chicken quesadilla. But they have normal carnitas and beef quesadillas why wouldn't they have a normal chicken quesadilla??? Maybe because it was a kids quesadilla it had no flavor I had to add salsa to it. The margaritas aren't horrendous, but, the wait times are-- an hour and 45 mins?! Are we at DisneyWorld?? To be fair, this place is great for people watching when you're drinking, especially the amount of Waymos that get stuck after dropping off patrons. Unfortunately, tacos and "quesadillas" are the main entrees here, and after drinking strong drinks, I usually want something to snack on, not another full meal. read more

I normally love coming here for the Frozen Margs but I think it was an off day yesterday as they had WAY too much lime, to the point where it was becoming undrinkable. I heard really good things about this place, but maybe I just had a bad experience. The service was fine, but we had to wait quite a long while to get the limes we asked for as well as the bill. The ambiance was cool. I liked that the tables were small and you felt really immersed in the environment with the green lights, etc. Unfortunately, food was a big miss for me. Considering the tacos were not cheap, I was expecting good quality, but the entire tortilla fell apart, and there was no flavor from the sauces or the actual ingredients inside the tacos for me. I came on a 5:30 on Saturday and was shocked at how busy it was - there wasn't a long line to be seated though. Parking is pretty much just street parking on the streets to the sides of the restaurant. I got a guayaba/the guava drink and it was absolutely delicious! You have to get the chips with queso too, the queso is warm and whatever they put in it makes it super tasty! I wasn't very impressed with the tacos I got though - I got a fish taco and the beef crispy tacos. I paid for a margarita, was served the drink, and then was hunted down at my table by staff accusing me of using a fake ID. I am very much 21 and showed my valid government-issued ID, yet they brought over multiple employees to scrutinize it until finally admitting they had "messed up." Despite acknowledging their mistake, they still took my drink away, refused to refund me, and instead offered store credit I will never use. This experience was humiliating, dishonest, and completely unacceptable. Taking someone's money, admitting fault, and still refusing to deliver the product or issue a refund is theft disguised as customer service. The fact that this was their idea of a solution shows just how little they value customers. I'll never return, and I strongly urge others not to waste their time or money here. read more

I wanted to love De Nada so badly, but I honestly thought it was really mid and expensive. The margaritas are about the only good thing here. We ordered tacos, and my shrimp tacos had definitely gone bad. The shrimp smelled really funky, and I took one bite and had to spit it out. We also ordered queso, and it was really underseasoned and hardened almost immediately. I think the only time it might be worth to come is during HH when their drinks are discounted. I was so so happy at De Nada Cantina. Ultra casual atmosphere (even the indoor space opens up completely when the weather's nice), the absolutely delicious margaritas that are legitimately so strong (you're only allowed to order 2), and the super simple but incredible menu that just so happens to be entirely gluten-free... I know. Then there's the drink menu where the house frozen margaritas are queen. Here's what my table ordered to share: a smoked black bean and cheese quesadilla, a fried carnitas and cheese quesadilla, a mushroom picadillo crispy taco (with smoked black beans, tomato, shredded lettuce, Monterrey cheese, and crema), birria tacos, a chicken taco, and chips with queso. Everything was wonderful. I'm a big fan of the smoked beans which are extra-smokey and savory. The quesadillas are different than what I'm used to, they seem more like what I would call an empanada. Like a big fat deep fried pocket of yum. I also had a guava margarita which was 2 thumbs up, 5 stars fantastic. And I love that you can take the cute pink plastic cup home with you. Visited De Nada Cantina while in Austin, as it came by recommendation from friends and locals. We came on a Monday during the day and was able to get a seat right away. They had an all day happy hour which I'm always down for. I started with the carnitas and cheese quesadilla, which honestly felt more like a empanada than a quesadillas. It was piping hot but the carnitas didn't have much flavor, and wish there was a bit more cheese. The beef tacos reminded me of a fancier version of Taco Bell, but it was just alright. Not sure I'd order either of these dishes again. The chips and queso was good, and their orange salsa was the best one we had. The margaritas were like $12. We got the frozen ones and they were tasty and did what they needed to do. The happy hour menu is $1 off from select regular menu items, not really saving all the much but I guess if you order a bunch of things, it adds up. Overall glad we got to experience and try it. Oh De Nada Cantina, que amor. I was recently tasked with planning my best friend's bachelorette in Austin, and De Nada Cantina was recommended by several people. I will say, this spot is POPPIN' - it was completely full inside and out. After ordering, I could see why. Our server, Mary, was awesome. We started with queso, salsa and guac. This dip trio comes with bottomless chips, which trust you will want once you try the queso. I opted for a Numero Dos which came with a barbacoa and carnitas taco as well as rice and beans. I am OCD about my beans, being a black bean loving Cubanita, and these beans were AMAZING. My tacos were equally amazing. We also ordered two of the quesadillas which were super interesting because they seemed to be fried - almost empanada style. Now, let's get to the glorious part - the margs. I started with a frozen, spicy pineapple margarita. It comes in the cutest pink cup and it was absolutely delish. It's everything you want a spicy marg to be - strong, refreshing, a bit of a kick. When on vacation, why stop at 1 margarita?! I also opted for a prickly pear marg on the rocks. I will say, these margs are STRONG so definitely keep that in mind. We ordered the chips and queso as an appetizer but what we received was nasty, over cooked, curdled "queso". It was abysmal...it didn't look appealing and it did not taste good. We ordered 2 frozen margaritas (mango) which were good and strong. I had mine on the rocks and got the prickly pear but it couldn't have tasted farther from that. It had a weird chemical taste and just all around disappointing. For tacos I got the barbacoa taco which was ok. A bit lackluster on the flavor but lime and salsa helped uplift it. $6 a piece? I got de nada as catering for a work event so I can't comment on service or ambiance. But strictly as food goes - they have some of the tastiest barbacoa I've had, hands down! I like the corn tortillas they use as well, and while I have never been a flan person, they have the BEST flan I've ever had!! Their rice was just fine; I prefer the spiced Mexican rice over the white rice we had but maybe that was a selection issue since we had a catered menu. Service was slightly rancid, but the hottest people I've ever seen in my life kept respawning here every 3 seconds so I get it. Ambience was giving Parking Lot Party by Lee Brice if Bad Bunny was featured (my favorite). We got a moody waitress who thawed up to us over a period of time. We started of with the house margaritas on the rock and luckily it was happy hour but the price wasn't much of a difference. Also, got the chips and queso and guac. Loved the Queso over the guac and it was cheaper during the happy hour. Chips and Salsa during happy hour was just $1.5, I know , it could be complimentary at other places but with Queso and Guace were $4.5 and $8 respectively. The tacos were amazing. Overall: come for the food stay for the margs! They limit you to only 2 margs because of how strong they can be but don't be shy because they have unique flavors! Food: crispy quesadilla are essentially deep friend empanada looking bites. Yes they are incredibly tasty with the juicy flavorful filling (pork was mouthwatering). Similarly their tacos are incredibly loaded and all this at a super reasonable price. Their queso is nice and cheesy with a bit of spice and onions. The guac is not bad either!
