Hired DCI to do a office remodel. Seemed like a honest straight forward guy to do business with. Very easy to chat with and easy to smile. Little did I know that the smile was not authentic. With over 30 years in the business he should have had the knowledge and expertise assess a job and price it accordingly. Worked on getting a contract prepared for over a month. Work started on a minor remodel indoors with no structural changes, and midway through drywall finishing he chooses to slam us with a "materials and labor" change order. We assumed it may cost us an additional maybe 5 grand. After 3 weeks of delay because he had one mid level drywall finisher working on our office , he Comes up with a 24 thousand dollar change on the drywall finishing itself. $8500 per week. !!! If we did not sign, he was threatening to stop work. We needed to finish, to reopen the business. When we tried to negotiate, he shut us down with a attorneys help. Complete scammer. Very suave though. Be careful.
Stay away , far away. Says he only does work on referral. Guess who's not going to complain? . Referrals.
Maybe suitable for a large corporation with attorneys to support legal challenges. A small business does not stand a chance. You will get screwed. Once in, no way out, unless you want to feed the damn attorneys who will always "find you a settlement " after they take their two pounds of flesh.
Hell will have a special quarter for two kinds of people, contractors and attorneys. And once there, they will screw each other.
Karma is a bitch. It will pay him back many times over. read more
