The color selection was very good and a lot better than most salons in the area which tend to have the same colors. These were different from anything I've ever seen. I asked Nia for a short almond shape and just a regular color and it looks like exactly what I wanted without even specifying. I told her I have to type at work and without hesitation or pressure to get them a little longer she did exactly what I wanted. I also clearly stated that I was there for gel acrylic. (The whole package was already paid on classpass) Instead of confirming the service with me, the technician proceeded with a different application (what appeared to be Gel-X). Only after the service was completely finished was I informed that there would be an additional $20 charge. At no point before beginning the service was I asked whether I agreed to this additional charge. When I questioned why I had not been informed or given the option to approve the charge beforehand, my concern was essentially ignored. What was especially concerning was that the owner was present and witnessed the interaction but did not step in or address the situation. The overall experience was extremely disorganized and unprofessional, from the appointment check-in to the communication surrounding the service and unexpected charge. I am currently escalating this through the appropriate channels. I also wish I had looked into the reviews more carefully beforehand. There are already multiple people discussing their experiences with this establishment online, including on TikTok. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way. Businesses should not be charging customers unexpected fees after a service has been completed without clearly disclosing and receiving approval for those charges beforehand. I hope the owner takes this seriously and addresses the way customers are being treated. Luckily my situation is being escalated and classpass is investigating.
