Prejean's is truly remarkable and easily one of my favorite places for authentic Cajun food. One of…read morethe things I appreciate most is their commitment to using local seafood. In Louisiana, that matters, and you can taste the difference. They have one of the best gumbos in town--rich, flavorful, and exactly what you want a good Louisiana gumbo to be. Their fried seafood is also excellent. Everything is seasoned well, flavorful, and consistently satisfying. My only complaint is that this probably isn't the easiest place to eat if you're watching your diet! There are a few healthier options available, but let's be honest--you don't come to Prejean's because you're craving steamed vegetables. You come for good Cajun cooking, and they deliver. If you're looking for local seafood, a great bowl of gumbo, and genuinely good Cajun food, Prejean's is absolutely worth the stop.

From IH10, take "Jennngs" or Estherwood Exits, follow old US90 to C'est BON. Plenty off street parking, plus truck/trailer lot across the highway. One major CAVEAT: If you want the plate lunch "special", go EARLY ! They do run-out regularly. Some items can be very spicy; if this is an issue for you, ask up-front. We just love this place ! There should be a waiting list of some sort to eliminate the space and people feeling rushed. We are here every weekend but after tonight we won't be back to dine in. No other restaurant allows people to walk around looking for an empty table. The ones waiting gawk and stare and you can hear their comments if people are not eating fast enough. The drive thru is so busy the cars wrap around the building making it difficult to get out. We looked forward to dining here every weekend but for the last several months it has gotten worse to where we don't finish our food and have to take it home because of the buzzards flying around waiting for tables.

Billy's is definitely one of those must stop shops to visit when in Louisiana. Its been a few years…read moresince i've had there boudin but overall it tasted the same! The flavor and meat to rice ratio on the boudin is perfect and I love the crust, but I can say you must eat them fresh or else you'll need to reheat in the oven or airfryer because the crust does get chewy. My only complaint i'd say is that I wish they offered a mild boudin because even the original boudin has a bite to it that can be overwhelming to those who are sensitive. Other than that, the boudin is really good along with the crawfish boudin. On this visit I even tried the fried corn out of curiosity but I wasn't a fan. They even have delicious chicken and pork cracklin but if I had to choose I'd definitely pick the chicken cracklin! Overall, I'd recommend so give them a try, you won't regret it!!!
