According to the website, the name came about because "when you use this seasoning the food tastes so good, you'll receive a loving slap on the back and a kiss on the cheek for creating such a great taste in Cajun dish." I honestly cannot remember how I stumbled across this seasoning, but Slap Ya Mama, specifically the hot blend, has become my standard seasoning for so many dishes. I have it on my table, right next to the salt and pepper and, as I said, I put it on everything. It is great on pizza and french fries. I put it on my eggs and on top of my pasta. I cannot think of a single savory dish that a bit of Slap Ya Mama will not enhance. I am fortunate that I have a few places to get it in my hometown of Orlando, Florida, but if not, you can order it from their website. I have to give this five stars. It is honestly my go-to and, as I said, it sits on my lazy Susan next to the salt and pepper.
