All the sandwiches were named after Old Hollywood celebrities. Don't be put off by the antique store vibe, the food is delicious and the owner and help are so sweet. There are only five tables that I could see, each seating 3-4 people. We chose Back in Time because I wanted to try a muffuletta while I was in Louisiana. They did not disappoint! Their homemade olive spread was a delight. I wish they sold it by the jar and it would have come back to Oklahoma with me. While there we saw lots of repeat customers come in, which is always a great recommendation. Thank you, Back in Time, for such a great meal experience.

This restaurant is not a prepackaged, boxed food, chain restaurant. In fact it's really special and if you take the time to drive here you should take the time to scan the walls. They are filled with accolades and awards won over the years. I have no vested interest in this establishment nor I don't know the owner/chef. I'm just another traveler passing through, looking at this place more as a living piece of American culture, while avoiding all of the fast food spots dotted along the roads. I wasn't there when someone served overcooked food, but I will tell you that if something wasn't quite right a mere conversation with the sever would've resolved the issue. Dealing out nastiness isn't serving anyone and it isn't helping the management make things better for your dining experience and it isn't serving the community overall. We found everyone to be very nice & efficient at their jobs. The 2 of us arrived Sunday, 8/16/26, at 1pm. We were greeted & seated by a pleasant young person, which promptly was followed up with our server, Lauren, taking and serving our drink orders. Our Salads, Crab & Crawfish Cakes soon followed and cooked as requested; cooked throughout with no soft, fleshy middle. We also ordered and shared the Grilled Chicken, green beans & carrots -- DELICIOUS! Lightly seasoned, juicy & very tender. It was the best chicken we've eaten in a very long time. We skipped desert since we had to get back on the road to Texoma; but, we will definitely seek this place out and dine here again in the future. I took as many photos as time allowed. I hope you will enjoy this beautiful, rustic space as much as we did and don't forget to ask the host to give you a page of history about the building. Safe travels and Bon appetit!

Nevertheless, the customer service was prompt, attentive, and pleasant.  Rather than try to explain this exquisite LA cuisine I'd never heard of, they let me taste a bite, and it was a party of flavor and textures in my mouth.  Boudin is a mixture of pork, rice, seasonings, and usually onions and peppers all cooked down and stuffed into a sausage casing.  We ended up ordering a deep fried boudin burger with cheese. It was made fresh to order.   This burger was huge, a bit spicy (as requested), and so freaking delicious.  What a great welcome to LA cuisine.  I have zero complaints: price ($6.35), taste, service, everything was on point. So dry it was inedible and we had too toss half the sandwiches. Chips tasted stale and like they had been cooked in old oil. So disappointed. The receptionist was great.
