We came here with reservations on a Friday night and were seated when we walked in. Everything we ordered was absolutely amazing and some of the best food we've ever had. We got the ribeye pork chop, the country fried steak, charbroiled oysters and a few extra sides. The pork chop was the table favorite, cooked perfectly and well seasoned literally melts in your mouth. But everything was delicious and would be ordered again. The biscuits that you get when you sit down were soft, warm and perfectly sweet. The charbroiled oysters were garlicky and butter and our server brought us some crab stuffed jalapeños which were also super good. They brought a piece of bread pudding out to help us celebrate a birthday too, which was really good and super sweet of the staff. All that said, our server Louis was extraordinary. We've never had a server take such good care of us, ever. We truly appreciated the kindness and attentiveness from him and Cafe Josephine. He even packed a few biscuits for our toddler that woke up from a nap as we were leaving. We couldn't be more thankful. Very down home vibe and definitely down home cooking, we loved this place.

Started strong with Crabmeat nachos and Jalapeño Duck poppers, but petered out with slow delivery of Ribeye tips and fried shrimp. I settled for thin scraps of rib-eye tips since they were out of Lamb chops, and somehow my wife did not receive her green beans promptly. All a bit underwhelming from previous visits. Our server, Kit, was working diligently during our visit, so we appreciated his effort. I do not recommend the Ribeye Tip dish.

Delicious steaks ! I had a filet med rare , so good ! I tried the Malbec. I've never had that brand before, it was very good. I added ice ...our waitress was so nice and helpful. I can't recall her name. Great ambiance, nice decor. It was kinda loud, but that shows people were enjoying themselves. We had fried duck and wontons. They were yummy ! And bang bang shrimp with pepper jelly. It was all so good !

Came here for the first time and overall the food and service was average. It's a nice restaurant for a small town however the prices were expensive compared to the quality of the food and service. We had the corn and crab bisque and filet. The corn and crab bisque was delicious and my favorite part of the meal. However, the steak was not worth the price in my opinion. I'd be open to trying other dishes on the menu rather than steak. I've been to many steak restaurants and this is simply not their specialty. The drinks were good! Our waiter did forget a few things but apologized and corrected everything. All sides were average.

Great experience. Favorites were the charbroiled oysters, steak, green beans, and spinach.

In the area for business a friend suggested cafe Josephine for some delicious country cooking. Comfortable and casual environment id suggest making a reservation even on a Wednesday night which we had. Great variety of options, we shared the seafood combo Zydeco- fantastic and I had the Seafood platter -Blackened The seafood platter was more then enuff to knock out my hunger - couldn't finish it all! It included local fish, shrimp, crab cake , etouffe and gumbo! Cafe Josephine a definite stop when your near sunset

Great hidden gem! We started with the grilled oyster trio and they were all amazing. My husband doesn't love spinach but really liked the spinach and bacon ones. He got an Old Fashioned. Upgraded the whiskey and it was delicious, only it didn't come on a big rock. I had a French 75 which was also good but it was not chilled. For dinner he got the seafood pasta and loved it. The portion was crazy big. I had the eggplant and it was perfect. I didn't opt for the additional noodles and I'm glad I didn't because I had plenty. Biscuits were fresh out of the oven and were a treat. We finished our meal with bread pudding which we both agreed was fluffier than most places and it was also very tasty. We had a nice night with great service. I would definitely return.

Hats off to the Chef! They truly know their seafood. As a seafood lover, I know seafood and being Cajun, I know seasonings. The seafood was perfect! Perfectly seasoned and cooked perfect. Long time seafood restaurants locally screw of both 99% of the time. The Chef here knows his stuff. I got the fried seafood platter and everything was packed with flavor and tasted fresh. The seafood rice was the best I've ever eaten. The seafood cake and stuffed shrimp kept me coming back for more bites after I was full. Charbroiled Oysters-top notch! The only complaint is, we got one little slice of bread to soak up all that delicious oyster liquor and it one little slice wasn't enough. The Cajun Mule was so delicious. It's the perfect summer cocktail. I could have drank these all night. My husband ordered the chicken fired steak. He commented that it was tender and well seasoned. It wasn't at all chewy for a thinker steak. He loves the twice baked potato and said he could have ordered one to go home. No pictures of dessert but we ordered the blackberry cobbler and the pecan pie. The pecan pie was sooo delicious and I wish we would have order two. The blackberry cobbler wasn't for us. It was flavorful but we didn't care for the crumble topping and it eat more like blackberry pudding. Take note of the local artist. Near our table I recognized Boogi's art! Love it!

This place is so cute! Everything was very tasty, I'd definitely be back. I forgot to take a picture of the crawfish nachos, they didn't last long if you know what I mean. The biscuits that they give you are sooo delicious and buttery with a great flavor. The service team was so polite and helpful. My only complaint is that the seafood platter was so spicy that my mother couldn't even finish it.

Wish I could give more stars. Everything we had was culinary perfection. Great menu with lots of choices, something for everyone. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Good parking. Nice ambiance, perfect for a casual family dinner or a dressy date night. Appetizers were great, and entrees were unforgettable. This place will have you always wanting to go back. Can't wait for our next visit!

    Charbroiled oyster trio, so delicious!

Super delicious, menu was creative and service was great. The ambience was quaint and warm and we would absolutely go back! The biscuits that come out as you sit are incredible!! Drinks were great and we had an overall good time even in a big party of 8 people we had no trouble getting in and seated.

Nasty Nasty Gumbo!!! Watery mess! The taste was horrible. Where was the seafood?

Omg!! I was fooled by previous ratings. Don't order the Seafood Gumbo!! It was a watery mess of nothing. The worst gumbo I ever had!! Nothing but water mix with 2 pieces of small shrimp. Tasted absolutely nasty. Had one spoon and left the entire cup on the table. Even the waiter was embarrassed by the gumbo because he didn't even ask me why I didn't eat it. The oyster was not cold cold like they should be and they looked "dirty" inside. I am guessing very cheap pick from the Bayou!! I should have tried their "$49.00" steak!!! Will never eat here again. Passing through from Colorado. Seems like the locals love it there.

Good food, good atmosphere. A little loud on a Fri or Sat night. The wait staff is great. Good place for a date night.
