You can't go wrong with any of the options they have on their menu wall. The wall is really helpful as it displays pictures and descriptions. I come here to get my chè ba màu fix which is a Vietnamese, less sweet version of Filipino halo-halo dessert. Their fixings have the perfect texture, never too chewy or overcooked. You can adjust the sweetness levels on their desserts and drinks. On my latest visit, I grabbed the Vietnamese coffee with taro cloud and Sweet Thai. The coffee was strong and the creaminess from the cloud helps mellow out the bitterness. The taro flavor of the cloud cream is very subtle. I ordered my sweet Thai at 50% sweetness and it did not disappoint. However, after that experiment I realized I prefer the dessert as is. If I'm going to treat myself to something sweet, might as well lean all the way in. Right? Was a bit disappointed by the service on my last visit. The workers were in the back when I walked in. I used their self-service kiosk and the only interaction I had with them was when my drink order was presented. I assumed they were slammed with orders or maybe they were training people but there were only 2 orders being prepped before mine with 2 drinks/desserts each. Got the Sweet Thai here and really enjoyed it. I recommend just ordering ahead via Yelp for pick up on your way here because the wait is actually kinda long if you order in store. So glad it was open today. I always get a Vietnamese coffee: just the right balance of sweet and caffeine to get me through the day. Updated menu today has a spiced pumpkin latte for the fall season but it's not my style. Quick and friendly staff takes your order : you can call ahead or try online ordering to save time. My husband and I went to DD MAU for dessert. It was an hour before they were closing so we were very hopeful that they would still let us order and sit/eat there. Parking was easy, private parking in shopping center. A few tables inside and some seating outside. You can order at the front counter w/ someone or you can order on the monitor. We ordered on the monitor (easy) and indicated that we would be eating there. After much thought, we decided to share the Jelly Coco (#4) (this included coconut pieces, coconut jelly, longan, basil seeds, lychee, and pandan jelly). I asked for less ice and unsweetened. We also ordered two pandan waffles (because we don't like sharing). The drink was PERFECT to share, very refreshing and wonderful to enjoy. I don't think I could have finished the whole thing. The pandan waffle was pretty phenomenal (probably the best I've had). It was cooked perfectly, extremely fluffy and I was so sad when it ended. I had to take off one star - they were a little rushed and busy cleaning. I understand it was 1 hour prior to closing, but the customer service was not 100%. They did not give us napkins or anything - just our order in a to go bag. I felt like they were annoyed that we were there and wished there was more of a culture of friendliness. The good: I stumbled upon this place because I was across the street for a Yelp Elite experience. I got the coconut milk tea with grass jelly at 50% sweetness. I liked that the grass jelly was cut up into small squares instead of scooped in a large blob because it made sucking up the drink more consistently distributed with the jelly. I am glad I got 50% sweetness because 100% would've been too sweet for me. They freshly blended the ice for the Vietnamese chewy pandan che (dessert pudding) that I got for my mom. I love the name of the shop and logo. The woman on the motorized scooter is a very Vietnamese image and DD Mau (di di mau) means "let's quickly go" but their DD also stands for "desserts and drinks." What a clever name! The bad: There's no outdoor seating. It was super hot inside even though the air conditioning was on. I am unsure if the coconut milk tea had tea in it. The color was white and the taste wasn't fragrant of black tea. There was a lot of ice in my cup. I'd ask for less ice next time. The interior is small and is a bit cramped. The interesting: They sold plastic toys with candy inside for $1.50 I got 2 of the monkey toys for my daughter because she has a similar one at home (that's a pig) that she loves. It's a small shop in Cerritos. Not much seating area. Only one person was working there when we went. We used their order kiosk to order because the person at the store was not present in the front of the shop. She was hanging out at the back. I had their mango tea with lychee jelly and basil seeds. Had the lychee fruit tea which had pieces of lychee with it but I also got pieces of the skin which was not pleasant and the drinks were so plain tasty that it didn't have any uniqueness to it. This is my favorite spot to get Vietnamese-styled desserts. The quantity and quality of the desserts that they serve here cannot be beat. And you can never go wrong with their Pandan waffle! Service is very prompt, I've never been left waiting when I've entered the store. Whenever there's been a line it always moves fairly quick even during holidays. My to-go orders here are the Chewy Pandan and Tropical Sunrise, but if I'd have to choose between the two it'd be the Tropical Sunrise. It has the same ingredients as the Chewy Panda plus a few extra toppings like coconut jelly. Very tasty and the blend of different toppings always work well together. Haven't tried their other mixed desserts as I'm not a big fan of fruits like jackfruit and logan, but my husband was a big fan of their Jelly Coco! Their desserts are fresh and never overly sweet, which I appreciate a lot. Try to visit during a holiday! They'll often have a special deal for the day where if you spend over a certain amount they'll give you something extra. Last time I believe it was a coconut pandan waffle and that thing is delicious. Crispy and warm on the outside and fluffy and sweet on the inside. It's not overly sweet either. Pandan is still a hard flavor to get locally in desserts, so if you have a craving for it this would definitely satisfy the need. Seating is a bit limited, but I've never had an issue finding a seat when I've visited. My minor gripe is I think the $2 upcharge for a large is a bit much, but can understand considering the ingredients they're using? DD makes the best boba drinks in the area. The shop has seating both at the front and near the pickup area for patrons to enjoy their boba or waffles. After seeing the menu I noticed the Honeycomb Toffee Brulee which was a special they were offering that was unlike the standard boba drinks. The associate said it was a pretty popular item so I ordered it hoping it lived up to the hype. The boba was chewy and soft and the layers of the drink pair well together. Most after tax is almost $8-$9 depending on what you get. It's pretty pricy but I would say its worth it for the amount of toppings and the unique flavors you get. Depending what specialty you get some have more some have less toppings, they have it all listed on their menu. My favorite is their Sweet Thai with no basil seeds, no palmseed, no longan, and substitute it all for more jackfruit. It's the BEST!!! This place genuinely has some of the best options for drinks i've ever seen. There is so many to choose from its overwhelming, but in a good way. I just want to try everything. There is one that I always default to whenever I need something to refresh me on a hot day: Avocado Smoothie with Boba and Pandan Jelly. The boba is mid, but the pandan jelly‍. My only complaint about this place is that the last time I went, I waited 45+ minutes for 4 drinks. About 15 minutes after I ordered, a girl came out to tell me that they had ran out of boba, and asked if I wanted to substitute it for any other toppings. I told them which toppings I wanted to substitute for the boba, and she went back inside to make my drinks. 30 minutes later, she came out with the drinks, but she also came out with an attitude... I thought I was super kind in the way I talked to her initially--even after she told me they ran out of boba--so I do not know what prompted for her to have such a rude tone. Not only that, one of my smoothies was not filled all the way, one of my dessert drinks was not covered correctly, and they skimped on the toppings. She explained that it took longer because apparently they also didn't have any of the other toppings ready, so they had to make some still. My boyfriend works for another boba store and I know for a fact that all the prep should be done in the morning, so I do not know why they have absolutely nothing at 1:30 pm in the AFTERNOON. If there is one place you should go in the 562, it's this place. I'm not even a dessert person (although I do love drinks) and I am obsessed with this spot. It's in a little strip mall near Target. We always get the number 3 and number 8. They all have the good ratio of fruit to drink but we just like these combos. Also PSA: they have $3 Vietnamese coffee specials during the week, so it's a nice place for a regular caffeine re-up. The owner is very kind. DD Mau is a dessert / boba drink store that sells unique, delicious, and traditional Asian dessert drinks! DD Mau is one of the most noteworthy "Boba" places I've been to in the U.S. I tried the Sweet Thai, Taiwanese Sweet, and Jelly Coco. The Sweet Thai was my favorite since it had ingredients that reminded me of South East Asia desserts such as the atap seed (gelatinous, translucent, smooth, palm seed), red tapioca (which is chewy and Boba like but with a crunchy chestnut center, first time seeing it in the U.S.), and pandan jelly (Take on a silky green opaque "jello" dessert called chendol, liked this one better since it was chewy), an icy cold dessert with a base of coconut milk, super good, I think if it was 70% sweetness it would be perfect. The Taiwanese Sweet is the Sweet Thai but with less fruits and more tapioca, chewy, desserts, and the Jelly Coco had an abundance of textures which fall apart in your mouth in a coconut water base (Grass jelly, coconut jelly, pops of basil seed). If DD Mau was near my house I would likely regularly go and burn my once a week cheat day on it, they have such idiocrasis drinks, I will definitely visit again! read more

Since I have been on a hunt for pandan waffles for awhile, I decided to stop by this shop on a Tuesday evening after dinner. The interior of the shop is small with several seats and tables. Also, there's a order kiosk available to place orders, which I used and was very easy to order. I was able to wait about 10-15 minutes for my waffles to be ready fresh from the maker. The waffles were pretty crispy on the outside, chewy in the middle and there was mainly pandan flavors along with a few sprinkles of coconut flakes inside. For my next visit, I'll definitely get them more crispier, which was an option when I ordered on the kiosk. This store has good Vietnamese coffee I had the one with taro foam and it added some great depth of flavor. It's strong and it kept me up with full of energy.
