To say the least, our water was not refilled once throughout the 2 hours of dining. To say the most our waiter Shakira started yelling and disrespecting an elderly member of their crew right in front of us. We went to celebrate my hubby's birthday. On arrival we got happy birthday card- which is nice. We ordered drinks- the waitress was kind of pushy, but ok- everyone has a bad day once in a while. Drinks came (smallest drinks I've ever seen- half cup filled hahahaha), no complimentary bread basket or anything. We ordered steaks, sides, appetizers... everything was good, nothing to brag about. Filet mignon was not aged at all, or maybe improperly aged, but tasted like While Foods on sale cut. $300 spent and we are not impressed. DC Prime is not a good value. We recently went for our wedding anniversary. The food we had wasn't all bad, but it was nowhere near good enough to justify the high cost. Much of it wasn't very good; namely the cuts of meat. My wife got the extremely fatty and borderline gross 6 oz "wagyu" strip. I got the 16 oz ribeye, which was cooked medium rare as requested, although I have certainly had better cuts of meat. It was also thoroughly burnt on the outside, which apparently is their special technique. We also got an order of steak fries as an accompaniment, which was good and came with nice dipping sauce. We basically use the dipping sauce for everything to make it taste better. We enjoyed the French onion soup. Our server was Matt, and he did not give us any complimentary bread and was generally hard to get ahold of, especially considering it was a quiet weeknight. We ordered a couple cocktails, which took forever to arrive. All said and done, I wish I had spent my money at Texas Roadhouse or Ruth's Chris. Nice, intimate decor. The service was pretty good. Our server was very kind and knowledgeable, but we did encounter a misorder which would have been a very costly mistake but thankfully the manager intervened. The food was inconsistent in quality. Everything we ordered with that had shrimp was charred and over cooked. Several Brussel sprouts were charred and tasted burnt. On the other hand, the lobster bites, scallops, and crab cakes were fresh, delicious, and satisfying. Additionally, the lobster Mac and cheese was amazing! The anniversary brookie was a very sweet touch and we appreciated the gesture greatly. I love that this location tries to recognize and celebrate special occasions. The presentation itself was gorgeous. Unfortunately, the brookie itself was really tough. The quality consistency across menu items is an area of growth. Ruined my first anniversary meal. The wagyu ($99) was AWFUL and for anyone interested in trying Japanese wagyu, do not do it here. It was already a small cut (6oz), but this was surrounded by so much fat all around. Wagyu is supposed to be well marbled, not a disgusting blob of fat with very little meat mixed in. I could barely stomach it down. And I guess they like their steaks literally charred to the utmost burnt blackness here. Because that's how my husband's bone in ribeye came out. The environment was very lack luster. Drinks took a while to come out even though there was only a few parties there. This hype was the biggest letdown. What a little gem in the burbs! We came here last week for a wedding Anniversary and found it quite bustling for a Wednesday night. Their meats and seafood are to be top quality and flown in fresh daily. We ordered the lobster bites for an appetizer which have a kick of spice at the end but a huge portion of lobster! We shared the tomahawk steak and asked for medium rare. It came out more rare than I would say medium rare would be but that's more to my liking anyway! Steak was good, not as melt in your mouth as other steakhouses Ive been to but the seasoning was good, and cooked nicely. For sides we got the French fries, and creamed spinach. Keylime tart for dessert. Great menu, they know what to make and what they are good at. Wine menu is on the iPad. The only thing I will dock a star for is the one we chose said it was a 2018 wine but a 2020 bottle came to the table. read more

I do not consider myself a steak know it all but I do know a good steak from a decent one. For the price point, not worth it at all. My steak did not taste dry aged or well seasoned. Tasted more like a regular USDA prime cut ribeye. So glad we decided not to get the tomahawk as it is a basically a ribeye but with the bone still on. DC Prime is easily one of, if not, the best steakhouses in the DC metropolitan area. I've been here a few times and it has always surpassed my expectations. Bone-in steaks are always my favorite and my go-to selection is the ribeye. But the porterhouse and tomahawk are also great. The steak at DC Prime speaks for itself. It's flavorful, tender, juicy, and reasonably priced. Every steak that I or my fellow diners have tried here has always been fantastic. Besides the steaks, the shareable sides here are amazing as well. The lobster Mac and cheese is the shining star but there's also the Brussel sprouts, au gratin potatoes, creamed corn, and steak fries. All are delicious and great for sharing. If by some miracle you make it to dessert without overstuffing yourself, there's great options here like the chocolate cake, key like pie, and bread crumble. The staff here are friendly and supremely attentive. The owner and manager are also cordial and will stop by to see how your meal was. The bartenders are fantastic and make great tasting drinks. It's pains my heart to say this but.. over hyped. If you consider yourself or maybe your partners is a steak connoisseur- please don't come here. To start we got half & half of the east & west cost oysters. Eat we're by far tastier, the west ones had a fisher taste. The complimentary cranberry date bread is pretty yummy & luckily they include regular baguette as well for the more picky bread eaters. We both ordered the bone in ribeye. As always we were eyeing the tomahawk but truly it's bone in rib eyes without the bone cut off. For the price of $99 we managed our expectations and just went with ribeye. So glad we did! The cut of meat was amazing but it lacked flavor. Salt & pepper will always do great on steak but this was missing something. To accompany my steak i ordered a crab cake(20$) there was 0 filler and it was fresh, seasoned well & tasted great. Brussel sprouts were tasty but couldve been roasted longer. Baked potato was pretty good. The steak fries are huge! And we thought they'd be served in the style the appetizer mentioned but i guess you have to clarify. We only received ketchup. The service is above and beyond and everyone is super nice, living in Woodbridge this place was 45-50 min drive from us for a special occasion. Mid. The experience started weird from the moment I walked in the door with my girlfriend. Our reservation wasn't showing up in their computer, despite me showing them a confirmed open table reservation via email, We were seated however. The server was nice and attentive. The vibes were super weird in the place. It felt more like a Cheesecake Factory rather than an exclusive steakhouse. The filet mignon was mid. The cut was nice, and it was cooked well, but I'd argue the same thing at Ruth's Chris is better. Same goes for the ribeye. Just mediocre steaks all around. The mashed potato's were mid, the mac n cheese was fire. The chocolate cake was also mid. The clientele was also weird which doesn't affect these 3 lousy stars. When you pay top notch steak house prices of $200 (sans alcohol) for two people you expect a true steak house meal, meaning a melt in your mouth, knock your socks off experience. Even at that I never feel it's worth that amount of money. After hearing very positive things about DC Prime I acquiesced for a special event. While the staff is very nice, the food was average and just didn't justify the price. We ordered the Filet Trio medallions prepared with three different toppings, the large 12 ounce Filet, onion soup, loaded baked potato, creamed spinach, and the Turtle Pie dessert. Triple Filet medallions were properly cooked but the toppings were nothing to speak about and one was just a pea sized dollop of sauce. Good, not great, and not worth $55. 12 ounce Filet clanking in at $69 came way undercooked and had to be sent back (very rare center when medium was ordered). It took some time to get it back and it then looked and tasted over charred. We overheard the same thing happening to another table nearby. Also tasted very average. Neither meat was melt in your mouth. The appetizers and sides were also something you could get at any decent restaurant and very average. Dessert was horrible and tasted like a pre-produced and deep frozen ice cream pie. I only took a few bites. At least use top notch ice cream if you're going to charge $17. In addition, the usual nickel and diming was abundant. $7 for steak sauce and $15 for cheese rolls! Unless you've got money to burn, which judging from the cars in the parking lot most people who go here do, would definitely skip it. Won't be back! read more

Honestly, one of the best steak houses I've ever been to in terms of food and ambience. The owner actually walks around and introduces himself, and I felt like that was a plus in terms of making sure consumers were happy. The clientele was very, very impressive, professional and wealthy. I gave this place four stars only because of a bartender I think goes by the name of Horace (possibly hispanic). So because I was by myself, I sat at the bar where I could possibly sit down for a nice meal, meet people, and have drinks. DC Prime, did not disappoint. However, the entire time I was at the bar, the bartender was very rude, arrogant and unnecessarily being a smart butt. I could not even make conversation with this guy without him being dismissive and rude. I did absolutely nothing to this guy to provoke that type of behavior. Not only that, even while being at the bar, I had to wait unnecessarily long waits on drinks, because the bartender would be having conversations with other bartenders and guest without even acknowledging or being attentive to "certain guest." The bartender treated certain guest so differently, and rude that it was blatant and some guests started complaining about their treatment amongst each other. Example, a young lady sitting next to me was served a glass of red wine, and she noticed a fruit fly in her glass. She informed the bartender of the fruit fly being in her glass and he refused to pour her a new one. I could not believe what I was witnessing. To add insult to injury, when I was ready to check out and pay my tab, I noticed that he automatically put a 20% gratuity on it. I have never been to a restaurant, and had an automatic gratuity placed on my check, while being a party of one. That confirmed what that bartender thought of me, and how I was being treated as far as discrimination. So, because I felt like I was being "unfairly treated," I decided to check to two checks that were in the area of where I was sitting, and I observed that he did not charge them an automatic gratuity of 20%. Honestly, I felt like I was being discriminated against the entire night, and it was only that bartender. He destroyed what would've been one of the best days I've had dining out in Ashburn, VA. Everybody else was super professional, attentive, and respectful. I know this review will not change this bartenders behavior, because the owner is super nice, and apparently people have complained about this bartender's behavior before. However, because he's been there for so long and behavior is so arrogant, he is going to eventually create a plethora of negative reviews from minorities that have been treated the same way. And by the way, this is not the first time I experienced this behavior from only this bartender. My desire is for the owner to have a serious conversation with him about his behavior and demand that he change. There are plenty of hard-working bartenders that would love to work at this place where the bartenders get paid more than some IT professionals, because of how the guest leaves such large tips. This owner needs to understand that he does not need that particular bartender, the bartender needs him. The problem is that he feels extremely comfortable to the point he thinks he doesn't even have to respect certain guest, and can get away with it. Give this six figure bartending position to someone that deserves it, and will respect the guest if he is not going to change his behavior - PERIOD! Addendum to my review: I just received an inappropriate and disturbing response by a person of the name Elizabeth. I'm assuming she works there, because only somebody with access to their account could respond. I will be posting her response directly to the owner. However, just know this is the type of people working in a leadership role at DC Prime. I see the lack of professionalism starts from the top down. Very disappointing!!! read more

Where to begin.... The ribeye was the best one since the one I ate at Manny's in the Foshay Hotel Minneapolis back in 2016. That was one great steak, but now, right here in Ashburn, is a not so little known restaurant DC Prime. I've had several hundred ribeyes since that one at Manny's and DC Prime was just as good and I don't say that lightly. So, great food. The place was packed on a Thursday night and the service defied the laws of physics! Food came out in lightspeed time, hot and exactly as ordered. The restaurant serves great steaks. I've had the Rib-eye and the filet. Both great. The sides are shareable and well portioned. I've had the Sea-bass as well here. Very good. Lobster Bisque, very good. It's a loud restaurant. Being it's one great room, you hear everyone. Plus the music. But it's good. Nothing to complain about unless you want quiet. Waitstaff is very good as well. Very prompt but not overbearing. Price is what you'd expect at a upscale steakhouse. The service was ok, the drinks were subpar, food was mildly warm, and men's bathroom was disgusting. For a higher level establishment I was expecting 5 star treatment. Near the end of our dinner we decided to find the GE and discuss, no one after that came up and asked us if our issues were resolved. They did however comp some of the drinks, but no one clarified or apologized. When we asked over the owner, he had a short attitude and did not seem to care or was interested. The oyster were very good ( liked the sweeter west coast ones);the sides were awesome ( potatoes, Mac and cheese, and crème spinach); and salads were fresh and delicious. We got there and the had to reconfigure a table even though there were plenty other locations to seat us. The poorly located reconfigured table put us in a main aisle of the restaurant and my seat got bumped by every waiter and waitress every time they walked by.
