I have tried several different lash bars in the area, this one is a super cute location. Huywen did a wonderful job on my lashes. She was knowledgeable and took her time to discuss what look I was going for and my eye sensitivity issues. I have had my lashes done other places and hated them and I wanted them gone after a week, not here, they are amazing. Sarah did my first set and I loved everything about it. Another girl did my relash, and it was the first relash I have ever had done, and I am not a fan, I would rather spend the money and just have a new set put on each time I think, and I am going to get a removal and a new set tonight. I love D.C. Lash Bar! It's so convenient that you can make your appointments online. They do require a 50% non-refundable deposit upon booking, which is difficult if you have a fluctuating schedule. But, is completely understandable. Carol is amazing. She's professional, thorough, and very good at her job. Josie was awesome! I went in and had a maintenance appointment done even though I got my full set somewhere else, out of town. She was totally welcoming about it. I told her the date I had the full set put on, and sent her a pic of how they looked now so that she could get a good idea of how much she had to replace. My lashes were still about 50% intact so it was $75 which is great. I was there for about an hour and we talked non stop, it didn't even feel like an hour! I went 2 weeks ago for the first time and the spray tan was great. I came back today and the service was provided by a different technician and the results were horrid. My skin looks like a map, streaky, patchy and with different shades of tan. My chest looks like I have a skin disease. I think she mixed the formula wrong because this is more than just a bad tan, the skin looks and feels burn. I have an event tomorrow and I am trying everything (from lemons to scrubbing) to undo this. I want to cry. read more

Their service was top notch! First of all I used the yelp website to see if they could fit me in today - and within 15 minutes I was contacted and had an appt (on a Sunday!). Huyen did my eyelash lift & tint and she was great! Not only did she make sure I was comfortable and explain everything, she was absolutely lovely and we chatted the entire time. I had a lash appointment yesterday that didn't quite go as planned, and I woke up today with major irritation from the lashes poking my lid. Usually this would be a simple fix since they offer a 5-day touch up period but I had to leave for the airport at 1pm and they didn't open until 11. Decided to message them and see if there was any way to get in a bit earlier and they quickly responded and immediately did what they could to make it right! They got one of their senior lash techs to come in early and fix the issue, and the junior lash tech was even there to see what had gone wrong to improve for next time. They didn't let me leave until I felt that everything had been corrected! I was out in 25 minutes and still had plenty of time before my flight. They really turned the experience around and I will 100% be back next time I need a set of lashes. read more

So I never leave reviews but I felt like if I would have read a more honest review I probably wouldn't have spent my money here so this is me paying it forward. First, it was my first time ever getting eyelash extensions, so you would think the artist would be more thorough in explaining the process, aftercare, and do's and don'ts. None of this was explained to me without me having to ask (which can be awkward to do when someone is working in such close proximity to your face.) Then, after the two hours of in and out sleep were done, I was given this 30 second schpeel about not getting them wet for 24 hours and that was about it. My eyes had an allergic reaction to the tape but that went away after about a day and apparently is very normal. Now, what you pay (I got a hybrid set, which is $345) is way more than any other place I had researched. Not only in DC but in Boston, NY, Austin, and LA. I figured they had so many good reviews that it must be worth it right? wrong. I have had my lashes about a week and a half at this point and I have shed more than 13 lashes all together. This started the DAY AFTER I had just got them. Now I know lashes shed naturally and it also depends on aftercare (which again was only learned from google and asking friends who've had lashes) but to me that seemed like far too many for such a short period of time. I followed the primary aftercare rules to the T, didn't get them wet for 24 hours, haven't rubbed my eyes, haven't put oil or makeup on them, and they have just been shedding at a rate that does not seem right. Now, $345 is way too much money to pay for something that isn't even going to last you a full week at their peak. After much thought, I will not go back to DCLashBar as I did not feel I got my money's worth whatsoever. read more

I got a lash perm here and everything went smoothly. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because: 1) It's expensive; 2) The service could be improved. The two women at the front desk/reception area seemed uninterested in their jobs. It wasn't unpleasant but it also wasn't pleasant. Other than that, Carol did my eyelash perm and it was a pretty straightforward process. I would recommend the service if you have medium length lashes; otherwise I'm not sure it's worth the $90 price tag. read more

I used to come to this location regularly for months. I switched from my previous lash location because the overall feel and cleanliness of Dc LashBar was really what got me. However, I started to notice constant issues with my lashes, they would shed more often, they would be uncomfortable, and no matter how I told my tech (I saw different ones now and again to see style variance) the style I wanted my lashes always came out way to heavy, and drag-like. The process, while somewhat relaxing with the nice spa music and diffuser, was always frustrating. It would burn very slightly and my eyes would water, and I now realize that it's because their tech is getting glue in my eye. That's why they where so uncomfortable, because the glue would cake up on my natural lash and eyelid. I honestly thought because I was still relatively new to the experience (had only seen 2 different companies) that this was just the way it is. It's not. They are WAY over priced for frankly shotty work. I found another company with FAR better quality lashes, my eyes don't burn or water during the process, a tech that knows what she is doing and can provide EXACTLY what I am looking for, and is able to customize and give informed feedback on what would look good on me, and I don't look like I have over dramatic almost strip looking lashes anymore for significantly less cost. Don't let the nice appearance fool you - there are MUCH BETTER options. Absolutely would not recommend. read more
