This was my first time getting eyelash extensions and I am so happy I went to DC Lash Bar. The studio itself is very clean, cute and the staff was very welcoming. The actual process of getting your initial set took about 2 hours, but Sarah was really friendly and made the time pass quickly. I wanted long, dramatic lashes and she made sure I got exactly what I asked for during our consultation prior to the application. The lashes look amazing and I have gotten so many compliments. The prices are fairly high (but competitive in the DC area) and they are offering some great opening month specials! I got $50 off my set. read more

If fewer than one stars were available, I'd be all over it. I went in for my first ever appointment having accidentally booked a classic 3 week fill, instead of a full set. On the website, it says every appointment starts with a consultation, so I would have expected the technician to ask more, especially when she noticed I didn't have any extensions whatsoever. Instead she told me I was booked for a fill, and when I asked if that was the right thing to do, she said yes--no other questions or conversation, so not much in the way of a "consultation." I was officiating at my cousin's wedding, and would have benefited from knowing more about what would look best in pictures. Fast forward to the wedding 4 days later, and nearly all the lashes on one eye were gone. The makeup artist was shocked I'd had them done so recently! Within a couple more days, I had hardly anything left on the other eye as well. For $180+ and something ostensibly supposed to last 3 weeks, I would have expected much more. I followed all of their instructions (no water for 24 hours, no makeup, no oil), and still had terrible results. A huge waste of money and a big disappointment. read more

I was nervous to get a spray tan after a serious booth mishap years ago, but the airbrush is truly amazing! Carol put me right at ease and the color is beautiful. I came here for a lash lift and tint. It was the first time I had ever gotten this service and I was (and still am) extremely pleased with the results! I prior had extensions from another salon and they ruined my natural lashes so after some time off and using a growth serum I decided to try something more natural. It's supposed to last anywhere from 4-6 weeks but I have very light blonde lashes and also extremely straight hair so I'm thinking around the 4 week mark I'll be returning. I usually don't like to leave negative reviews, but I truly believe that it is important for other people to know about my experience with the Lash Bar before they schedule an appointment. I went in for an eyelash touch up, as I had gotten a full set somewhere else during the holiday break. While the staff was indeed very kind, I knew immediately that the job was poorly done as it hurt to even lightly touch my eyelashes. The next day, my eyes were swollen, in pain, and had discharge coming from them. These are things that simply should not happen when you get eyelash extensions done. I saw an eye doctor who concluded that due to the glue and eyelashes being bound too closely to the root (extremely unprofessional) that the eyes were becoming infected, and he recommended that I get the lashes removed promptly. In fact, I had to go on antibiotics to calm my eyes: this job became a health hazard. The next day, I went back to the eyelash bar where they were removed, but here is where my real issue takes hold. I inquired about a refund per my poorly done lashes and its compromise on the health of my eye. After both a phone call and follow up email describing my experience (along with a doctor's note to fortify the severity of the poor job), I was denied a refund and only offered a complimentary set. Why would I want to risk my eye health again? At the very least, it is poor ethics to still charge me for the labor portion of the amount that resulted in swollen eyes, extra time getting them removed, etc. This is not okay. Not only was this a waste of my time and wallet, but also a risk to my health. No responsibility from the company. read more

Great value and excellent customer service! This was my first time getting eyelash extensions and I wasn't too sure what to expect but they were low maintenance and beautiful. I got the classic set which gave me much fuller and longer lashes but was also very natural looking - exactly what I wanted. The full set lasted about 3-4 weeks, but I think I went about 6 weeks until I felt like I needed to remove the ones that were left, which was much longer than I expected.
