I had really high hopes moving to the DMV area and finding such stellar reviews for lashes. Andi is really sweet and kind but if I'm going to be honest this was probably the most painful set of lashes I've had She did her best before I left to make sure it was comfortable which it wasn't horrible. But sometime a day after having the lashes placed it really started to hurt to blink or make any eye movements. I just took off each lash individually because it hurt so much. My analysis is many lashes weren't applied at the very tip so the sharp end would hit the lash line with blinking. Furthermore, the lashes applied to close to the lash line which can be an issue for clogging the glands there (but what do I know, I'm just a doctor). I really didn't want to have to write a bad review but it physically hurt so bad that I just needed people to know that lashes shouldn't hurt! :/ read more

Please Never go to Beyond Total Beauty. The owner (AndI) is unscrupulous and very dishonest. She did not disclose her fees in total prior to booking and when I refused service for this reason, she refused to return my deposit. Any additional fees undisclosed at booking and only mentioned at the time of service is the right of the client to refuse without loss of deposit. The provider's inherent duty is to disclose ALL costs prior to booking and if they fail to do so, they have no right to keep a client's deposit. When I asked her to call the police to reconcile the dispute, she lied to them by saying I was threatening her and her unborn baby. It's one thing to refuse to return a deposit but it's a whole other bottom dwelling mentality to unjustly accuse a client of threatening behavior. Is AndI unstable and prone to histrionic thinking? It seems quite possible in light of the extreme measures she took to win over the opinion of the police. I'll pray for her and especially her unborn baby. After working like crazy and slacking off many other important things, (lashes being one of them) I had resorted to plan B: waterproof mascara. Later that night, after seeing a friend I remembered what a pain in the butt taking off waterproof mascara was going to be and was glad I had made an appointment to see Andi. Besides it was time for me to see her new place of business in Walnut Creek. Some might call it a drive (where I'm at), but her magic is worth it. If you're new to her place, it's located at the end of the building shared with a gym. So once you enter the business, you'll see a receptionist area, her business is the first door on the left. As usual, Andy's working area is super clean and comfortable. (You notice these things when you're in healthcare...I can vouch for her since I hadn't gotten pink eye) We know each other's routines as I whip out my headphones and take a power nap...with the occasional snoring that gets so bad I wake myself up. By the time she's done, I get to wake up to awesome lashes that make me feel girly again. I have short thin lashes and my goal is to look as close to natural as possible without looking like I was competing in RuPaul's Drag Race (not that I'd have a chance, I'm not nearly as fierce as some of those ladies...not even to lip sync for my life). As much as I'd like to have long lashes, I know my lashes can't support anything longer without falling apart the next few days. At least with the shorter ones, they last longer. If it's your first time with lashes, pay attention to after care. There are great tips on youtube as well. Don't use oil based products or the lashes won't last as long. Avoid eye pencil makeup since they'll screw with the adhesive. No hot yoga, sauna, wetting your lashes until after 48 hours. Use oil free makeup remover. read more
