Mimi is the best!! I just went back for my touch up and I am so happy! She is so fast! And an expert at what she does! It was also painless. Thank you so much Mimi! See you in one year!

No arc, and to much pigment on the front

PLEASE READ ALL THE REVIEWS! NOT just the good ones!! I wanted to wait for my brows to heal before the review but it's clear that she messed it up! 1. She was super nice at the phone to schedule the appointment but on the day her attitude was some moments nice and other very rude. This is a big problem if you have any doubts or if English isn't your first language. That was my case and she seems to get easily irritated 2. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and asume she will copy that ( Picture of her own work) but she never enter on details like pigment or if I wanted abundant or just a few. My naturals eyebrows were already abundant so I was looking something subtle LIKE the picture I showed... 3. When she was done, she showed me the result and I was shocked to see a "professional " going a little bit far here and missed some spots there. When I pointed out the mistake, at the beginning didn't seemed to be obvious for her, after the 3th try taking a look. The only good thing from her ; she tried to "fixed it" I asked a couple times if what she used will actually fix it, because for me it didn't look like that ( taking in count the expert is her not me) She just said YES and replied rude the second time. An explanation of HOW that's supposed happened it would have been better than just YES. My mistake was ignored the BAD reviews HERE and in YELP( She have more there) And arrived 6 minutes late on the appointment date. I completely understand time it's valuable but I drove for almost an hour because I trusted in all these wonderful reviews. I also noticed she replies with attacks to her bad reviews with comments like: " You want to take my business down" or have any excuse blaming the client. Like if the client was the one performing the job? SERIOUSLY??? I sincerely wanted to like the work of this woman but I don't think she care about the outcome of her work. This review is as constructive as possible This person does NOT have the years she claims of experience. It's that or maybe it's a gamble is she does a "good job"

Left side is lower, and Right side is higher

To be honest I have never written a review but I want to share my experience. Since I think microblading is really important to a person and want to give some advice to other people. 1. Do not believe in those good reviews on this store. I saw that this store has a lot of good reviews on the Internet. I originally thought I would have a good experience with my microblading, but it turned out to be the opposite. Those 5-star reviews are just obviously fake feedback. 2. I showed the picture to him about what I want. However, I got a totally different result. She won't follow your idea. She just wants to do the service quickly and get paid. 3. She will complete your microblading in less than 1 hour. I told my friends and all of them think it is too short for a microblading service. She did the service rashly not carefully. 4. Since she did the service very rashly and hastily, my face got cut by her mistake. At that time, I did not blame her. I just want to get an apology. However, she became extremely rude. 5. When I ask some questions about microblading, she just lets me read the manual impatiently. 6. More seriously, she made my eyebrows not at the same level. One of my eyebrows is higher and another one is lower. It's really ugly. I think she is really unprofessional. 7. The price is always shown on your website, I didn't get any discount. Everybody can get that price. After two weeks, my face still didn't heal and the scar is really bad. I hope never do the service here.

At first I was skeptical on getting my brows micro bladed, I was afraid on how it'll looked on me since tints never worked on my skin. But after thinking about for about a week. I finally chose Mimi. Before calling Mimi I looked into her Yelp, Instagram and her google reviews. After reading her reviews, I finally made the appointment and she squeezed me in right away. I don't know how to even start on how impressed I am with her skills. She's amazing and friendly. She took her time to perfectly draw my brows. She made sure I was comfortable. Although it's not done yet, I am excited on coming into my second touch up. Thank you so much Mimi

After filling in my brows every day for years, I am so happy I decided to finally get microblading. Mimi did a great job and I'm very happy with the results. After my first visit, I noticed one was a little higher than the other and Mimi helped fix that during the touch up. I would definitely recommend her (and already have) and will go back next time I need a touch up.

Brow touch up, love them. Make sure you get your retouches.

Excellent work, great on all skin types. Mimi understands ethnic skin and various skin types as a cosmetologist and permenant makeup artist. I've actually gone heavier and wider than my natural lash and because of the individual strokes I get compliments all the time on how well my brows frame my face.

I am very pleased with my service at Arlington NOVA Laser & 3D Microblading. After meeting Mimi for the first time, she was so sweet and I was immediately comfortable with her. She provided information that helped me understand the process, step by step. I knew exactly what to expect. She knows exactly what color to use depending on your hair color and she skillfully shapes according to your face. I'd say it is about the same pain level as threading, so it's tolerable. I love the results! This place was perfect for me, thanks to Mimi.

I was skeptical with Microblading but I did my research & read reviews about Mimi and decided to do it. I struggled with my eyebrows. I used so many products to let it grow & when it did, I just can't keep up with it. I like my eyebrows now. I still have to go back for a touch up but I'm very satisfied. I will say this, you have to trust the process. At first I thought it was too blocky & I was getting scared but after 10 days my eyebrows looks so good. I will post another picture after my second session. Mimi is sweet & she honestly know what she's doing. I'd give it a 5 star after my last session to see its final look. The best part of having Microblading is I don't spend so much time getting myself together in the morning. It always looks good & natural. Thanks Mimi

At first I was not sure about Microblading, it took me a while after searching the area , I found Mimi with all the good reviews from her clients. She explained everything. Make sure that you like what she plans to to do on your eyebrows. She will ask you what you want first and make sure what's the best look for you. She will make you comfortable . She is good in what she does.I can tell she knows her job well. Very impressive. Good skills. I love my new eyebrows and I will definitely recommend her with my friends.Excited to have my re touch in 5 weeks.

Six weeks after touch up. Too dark for my face and lacks definition. Also patchy in places.
    Jenny D.

I am very disappointed with my results. I had microblading and one touch up. The color is too dark for my complexion and hair. A friend was honest and told me it looked a stamp and lacked the definition of skilled microblading. One eyebrow is darker than the other and the tail veers away from my natural hairline, creating an even more artificial look. I made sure to wait two months after the touch up before casting judgment. I can now say my eyebrows look harsh and fake. I am trying to make them fade as fast as possible with retin-A and peels directly on my brows. I am thankful microblading is not permanent. This was a complete waste of money and I have to deal with it on my face for my months.

Before and after. Great job. No pain.
    Catherine L.

Great experience. No pain (unlike my experience elsewhere a couple years ago). Love the results.

just me and my naked eyebrows 8)

I had Mimi do my eyebrows, and then my moms. I gave her the exact shape I wanted (since her style seems to be different than mine) and gave her feedback along the process. It's been about two months since I've first gotten them done and I love the way they faded out to a more natural look. Ive always had eyebrows but just needed them extended. PS for ease of finding this place, its in the nail shop in the plaza.

Mimi is amazing! I love her technique. I wish I did this sooner. After butchering my eyebrows in the past, she brought them back to life.

Ask the Community - Arlington NOVA Laser & 3D Microblading

How much does 3D Microblading cost in total? How many sessions?

There's a special for $249 for initial visit, then $75 for the touch up. The touch up is done 6 wks after the first visit I think. Can't remember, but GIRL... BEST MONEY SPENT! My brows look wonderful! Mimi is the BOMB in business!!

What is the cost of a microblading touch up session?

    $199

Do you guys have lighter colors for blondes/fair skin?

You just need to talk to Mimi at LA Nails. She is a true artist!. While I am a brunette, she created a less dense brown for my eyebrows. I'm sure that you and she could identify the perfect shade for your coloring. Do note that the color is darker…

I asked for her to shape my eyebrows since it's been about a month and a half since I last got them done. They are incredibly uneven and she took a huge chunk out of the bottom of my eyebrow. I commented on it and she tried to play it off like it had always been there. I spend a good amount of time during my morning routine on my eyebrows so I know the shape and hairlines intimately. That bald spot was not there. Terrible job and even more disappointed that she couldn't accept responsibility.

When you walk in, walk up the stairs and the place is on the left. They have it broken up into two rooms. One room is a waiting room, and the other room is where they do the threading. There was two ladies at the time, one behind the counter and one doing the threading. The place is pretty small and simple, nothing fancy. If you want to get a quick threading and you're local this place will meet at your needs. Its 12 bucks for the threading but I had a living social deal so it only cost me 6. The salon itself is beautiful and welcoming and David immediately made me feel so comfortable and taken care of. One of those haircuts where you walk out feeling like a totally elevated version of yourself. Full version: I had long straight hair past my butt with no volume (figured since I can't get volume I could at least have impressive length) I wanted to get a long shag haircut to see how shorter layers in my hair would react without completely losing my length. Based on positive reviews here I booked Urban Halo. A shag is a complicated cut so I paid more to have an owner do it. Was assigned Andre. I called and asked what kind of prior consultation I would get and was assured he would consult with me to make sure I got what I wanted (I had a lot of questions about what kind of shag to do, whether I should consider a modern perm in lieu of a shag to add wave, etc.) Half an hour before my appointment I see a voice mail asking me to come 15 minutes early. Which irked me a little at the time because they provided so little notice but I didn't clock this as a red flag until after because my appointment was so rushed and this might have been an indicator. I get there. They wash my hair right away and that's fine. I sit in the chair. Andre asks me what I want and I say I want a long shag to create more volume. I ask about doing a perm because I have heard that perms today can provide more natural looking wave then the old 80s perm. He tells me that's called a body wave and "you could do that." And then...nothing. OooooK. I show him my example pictures of these really piecey shags with lots of layers all the way around the head. He goes OK so lots of layering around the face and more volume and he says we need to cut some of my length to get volume and how much am I willing to cut off? I tell him I would like to keep as much length as possible while still getting the cut but if he needs to take some off to get the look then fine. He ends up taking off like 10 inches of hair, bluntly across the bottom. My hair is still long because it was so insanely long before but this was a noticeable amount to take off. He then proceeds to do that thing where they angle the scissors diagonally and cut downwards away from your face to create these super subtle long layers which is a haircut I have gotten 1000 times at Great Clips and is not what I asked for. That is literally it for layering. He does stuff to even out the rest of the cut so it is literally a blunt cut for the entire back of my head and the whole thing was maybe 5 or 10 minutes. He spent more time blow drying than cutting. At the end the whole thing is just a slightly shorter version of what I already had with a few short layers in the front. I felt like I had cocker spaniel ears. I was obviously not thrilled and started messing with it in the mirror. He says how beautiful it looks now and I say well it definitely looks healthier, which was the only nice thing I could say, and then he tells me to think about coming back for the body wave and walks away. This was not an objectively bad haircut, thus the second star, but this was the most simple, boring, basic haircut and if I had wanted what was essentially just a trim to take length off I would have done it myself. Looking thru pics now I realize that all the haircuts here look the same and that is what my hair looked like, too. I felt gaslit. I immediately booked a free zoom consult with another stylist known for giving consultations and second opinions and she agreed this was absolutely not a shag. She told me a lot of stylists in DC don't even know what a shag is or if they do they won't do them because it is a specialized haircut. I am shocked because I am not a hair stylist but I 100% know what a shag haircut is. In retrospect I am guessing Andre didn't know how to do a shag and instead of really talking about that with me he just instead moved forward with the same basic cut he gives everyone. I hated hated hated it. So anyway I booked the other stylist elsewhere and paid twice as much for her to give me a true shag. It was a razor cut. I love it. It was more expensive than Urban Halo but I got exactly what I wanted. I actually have volume! So it WAS achievable - Urban Halo just couldn't bother to try. No body wave necessary (and honestly I would be afraid to go back and get that service from someone who doesn't listen to me). I now feel totally confident going shorter with this same cut next time (though it pissed me off that Andre took so much length off that we could have used as raw material for my correction cut). I wish I had taken a before photo to be able to post a comparison but didn't think to at the time. In conclusion, my cut from Urban Halo is adequate at best - not embarrassingly bad but a basic, cookie cutter cut with no advanced techniques that did not justify the price point. He didn't listen, just did what he wanted and I found this frankly both lazy and arrogant.
