Great brunch spot that you can't go wrong with! It's delicious and I got biscuits. You must go!

I found this place on the way home from a wine weekend with the girls. We needed something quick but good. We didn't know it was more of a "self-serve" type of situation. You order your food and get a pager and then they have a full bar that you can order your drinks as well. The good didn't take long to cook but was cooked perfectly. The chicken was moist and the home fries were perfect. Let's talk about the donuts that barely made it. They were so good! Make sure you eat them hot! They are taking excellent precautions for COVID, masks, social distancing and cleaning between customers. The food was excellent, super fresh and flavorful and the place has a lot of options to choose from. I really enjoyed my biscuits and gravy and the wife also loved her food. There is a full bar next to the kitchen. Plenty of seating, they also have tents setup outside for convenient social distancing. I ordered Short Rib Sliders that came with hand-made potato chips and everything was delicious! The short rib sliders were tender with the right amount of sauce and chip's perfectly seasoned! Well done, a must try. I also ordered the thin man Kölsch beer that was a great match. read more

If you are going to/ from the airport, this is a good spot just about 10 min from Dulles! Otherwise, it's a little in the middle of nowhere, but def worth the trip. I went on Sunday and it. was. packed. The line was long, but moved pretty quick. It is really efficient because they give you the beeper while you're waiting so you can go outside. I had the Beverly and it was sooo good. I love that the chicken was crispy, but not greasy. The chicken also didn't have gristly parts that sometimes come in fried chicken. The biscuit was a little too on the floury side for my liking, but still complimented the combination well. The gravy on the side was amazing- I could have just eaten that by itself. My dad had the chicken & waffle, which he enjoyed. The decor and ambiance are really cute & energetic. They have covered outdoor seating, which is nice. We used to love Daybreak for Sunday Brunch but were very disappointed when we went this past weekend. They changed the menu recently and the good news is they don't seem to have increased their prices. The bad news - they decreased their quality to make up for it. We ordered the Goat and the Southern Cali. The chicken on both was terribly thin and over breaded. Previously it was so thick and delicious that it was almost enough for two. Drinks from the bar were average. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture but trust me, if you've been before, you'll be disappointed when you go back. read more

Went there for a quick breakfast. The biscuits and chicken were delicious and HUGE. It's impossible to eat it as a sandwich so we cut it up, but hey it just means we savor it longer! We also tried the Bonuts. They were good, but the cream cheese spread was a little weird and I expected it to be a sweeter. Some good, some bad....this was my first time visiting Daybreak. I had the "Homeboy". A biscuit with gravy topped with a fried egg and a side of fries. Fries for breakfast? OK, I can deal with it but could also do without. The fries were quite good, I'll give them that. But to serve a biscuit with gravy on a metal tray with wax paper (as opposed to a plate) not only makes one think of the dark ages but it makes it very challenging to cut. The paper gets soggy and wads up what you are trying to cut. There's no tellin how much paper I may have eaten. I found the gravy very watery with little sausage, more akin to warmed up milk with a few sausage bits. At least the music was good....they were playing Reggae on this particular Saturday. read more

Went in for breakfast the first time on a Sunday about mid-morning. Not too busy and was really happy with the everything. I got the Nash biscuit and my girlfriend got the avacado toast. Both were really well prepared with great ingredients. It's a neat set up as this area is like a food court with multiple businesses/restaurants. This place does breakfast, but there are other places that do lunch, dinner, beer and mixed drinks as well. Definitely worth checking out. read more

Ordered the avocado toast & initially it looked amazing until I realized they forgot the fried egg. When I told the ladies they grabbed my plate and threw on a pre made cold fried egg on it. Sad, because I was so excited to try this place. Their cold pressed juices are good but not good enough to go for only them. I wouldn't recommend. read more

Area inside is pretty spacious. We got the el jefe waffle and Nash biscuit. Both are large. I enjoyed the sweet and savory combo and am glad I tried both a waffle and a biscuit here but I do think both were a bit salty. Not sure if I would come back as their menu is pretty simple and didn't offer much else. Staff was nice though and the space was clean. read more

One of my absolute favorite spots!! Since COVID, they've done well with making it a safe space/environment to go to. They limit the amount of people inside, masks are required, and added additional seating outside. I'm assuming this will start getting limited more once weather drastically changes. I would recommend coming here as a change-up during this time if you're looking for somewhere safe to go to. As far as food goes, I've tried a number of things on their menu and have yet to be disappointed. Obviously this is connected to Crooked Run so you can order a beer and bring it over to Day Break side to eat and enjoy a number of amazing beers. (Raspberry empress is the go to as well). Environment is fun. You can bring games and hang out with a small group and enjoy a relaxing time. They keep areas and bathroom clean at all times. What's the saying? "A biscuit so good it'll make you wanna slap your momma?!" Our first experience with Daybreak, was when a friend brought a big tray of biscuits, with loads of accompanying jams, to brinner. We had homemade eggs, chicken, and drinks to pair, but the biscuits stole the show! The biscuits were MASSIVE- light, flaky, buttery outside, with a dense, moist, delicious inside. I didn't even end up pairing the biscuits with any other food because enjoying it solo style with jam was just so darn delicious. Each massive one allowed me easily to try 4 jams, my favorite was the bacon jam & the lemon curd (not together haha). Know, these biscuits are craveable! Hence, when we visited our friends again, we suggested brunch time, knowing we wanted more Daybreak! We suggested brunch time, so we were able to partake in their typical menu, not the late night one. This time we tried the Nash, the Beverly, the Loco, and the garlic fries. Each sandwich had the same MASSIVE biscuit from the trays, they do not skimp or make them smaller for sandwiches (drool). Also included was a massive piece of perfectly fried, well-seasoned, moist & juicy chicken. It did not even fit on the biscuit, it was so drool-worthy seeing it poke out with cheese, sauces, & gravy dripping off of it. The flavors went so well together, they make amazing bold combos. A very yummy, memorable meal. Eating this sandwich for lunch left me full for a very long time, and for the price, it's an amazing meal! read more

You use plastic silverware and the chicken and waffles are rubbery and straight up bad, don't waste your money with it. Coffee was horrendous too. You are prompted to tip 20% at minimum, that includes picking your own food up and bussing your own table. We couldn't finish our meal because the ambiance was so depressing we needed to get out. There was no music in the background and once again eating with plastic silverware... McDonalds would be better choice. read more

Day break shares a food hall-esque location wirh Crooked Run and Senor Ramons next door and Nectar the bar. Crooked Run has a dozen beers on tap and outdoor seating. Senor Ramons has amazing tacos, nachos, corn nuggets, and other hand helds. Nectar has really cool cocktails that were all delicious. Our group decided to hit the food hall for brunch and get a little bit from all of them. From daybreak we shared the Bird, Daybreak, Avo toast and the Bonuts. All delicious, flavorful and portions were right. Bonuts were a little dry, probably wouldnt order those again but everything else was great! Food was alright. My question is how is there no syrup when you have chicken and waffles on the menu ?? The whole serving food on a tray with wax paper is a fun look but it doesn't make much sense when you have to use a knife to cut the food and the paper comes up with it. They have biscuit sandwiches to choose from with fried chicken, some kind of cheese and maybe some bacon or a fried egg. They also have a sweet section and savory section on their menu with choices like a chocolate sauce waffle with condensed milk and whipped cream or a fried chicken sandwich. It's an okay place, basically it's a big place with bar on one side and food on one side. They have limited menu. I didn't like the biscuit at all, it had a bitter after taste and was dry. I'm visiting from out of town. I am a big fan of chicken biscuits with gravy. When I'm traveling, I look for places that can make this dish. Daybreak did not disappoint, I got the Nash. This is not for the faint of heart. It is a fork and knife dish that will fill up even the hungriest among us. I wanted to try the bronuts, but I didn't want more than one, and I knew I didn't have the room for any at all. All in all, awesome place, great atmosphere and nice people. Like their name suggests, they serve a variety of biscuit sandwiches as well as other brunch items. We both decided to order biscuit sandwiches. I ordered the loco and my husband ordered the Nash. The sandwiches are made to order and took about 15 minutes. The food is rich in flavor and is tasty. The sandwiches were pilled high with filling. The biscuit itself is quite sizable too. I loved my sandwich, the candied bacon was awesome. The biscuit was flavorful and well made. The fried chicken was moist and full of flavor. Hubby was pleased with his sandwich as well. I would come back again and try other menu items. I wouldn't however make a special trip all the way out. read more

The location was a little bit harder to find, tucked in an office park area. However once you get inside it's really darling. Daybreak shares it's space with Nectar, which is a bar serving a variety of beverages. I met up with a friend for breakfast and did not try any of the drinks at Nectar. Also next door a brewery and taco place. Did not try those places, but all in all sort of a fun space. The biscuit sandwich I had was delicious! The chicken was crunchy and juicy and the biscuit was perfectly flaky. Everything came out super speedy. I got the Loco which is a pretty basic friend chicken biscuit sandwich, and don't get me wrong it was very tasty. However the sandwich on the menu was supposed to have maple candied bacon in it and my bacon was just the normal kind [see picture]. No maple candied bacon. I'm not mad, it was still delicious. My friend had the Southern Cali, which she liked too, but the sandwich had a lot of sprouts for garnish and it fell apart on her when she tried to eat it. What's a good sandwich if it doesn't fall apart on you and make a big mess, right? Anyway, if I'm ever in the Sterling area again I'm sure I'll be back. read more

This was a great find! Originally going to another place in the area but wayyyy too long a wait so found this alternative. UNIQUE is the word for this place. Order at a counter (see menu pic) and seat at dining area with tables and plastic chairs. They have 2 other stations- coffee by the door and a bar area. They make unique juices that run about $7 a piece. We ordered 3 different options - the Nash was delicious- fried egg, biscuit, ham, fried chicken and a gravy type sauce with onions. Delicious! Never had anything like it! The avocado multigrain toast with poached egg and arugula was amazing!! This is such a great place! Music a bit loud but wow such a difference from the typical. I was surprised it was set up as like a dining hall. The food and drinks here were so bomb. The best were the beef intestine tacos, corn nuggets, and potato sausage hash. SO GOOD. their drinks were super cute and actually tasted great too. We got the dragonfruit mojo, mule, and sangria and they all tasted amazing. This is a fun place to meet up with friends and have a quick brunch. There is no table service, you go up to a line and order, then receive a buzzer. They also have a bar with half off mimosas 11-2 even on the weekends! Overall I thought the food was well portioned and tasty for the price. Hipster has arrived at Sterling, VA. My hubby has been talking about this place non- stop for two weeks. He ate here three times since opening, and he commented on how the food is improving with each visit. I finally got a chance to try their biscuits after hearing about them for like the tenth time. I like how they transformed the space of Senor Ramon Taqueria and Crooked Run Brewery. Now it's an open space with the addition of Nectar - juice and cocktail bar, and this specialty biscuit joint. Walking into this new space with live music and surrounded by families on a Sunday afternoon was pretty cool. My hubby bragged about the Beverly biscuit and I love it! The chicken was juicy and tender. The sauce had heat and that added a nice touch to the overall biscuit. I love barrata cheese and the huge chunk they give you makes everything merrier. I wasn't too fond of the Southern Cali. It was a biscuit sandwich with fresh ingredients, which is good. But nothing more. The kids tender and fries is a huge platter for $6. Definitely enough food for multiple kids. I can definitely foresee us returning for biscuits, tacos and beer. read more

I love this place. I will eat their garlic fries all day, every day. They are truly garlicky, but not so overpowering that I'm breathing fire all day long. They're not overly greasy and they have the perfect, crunchy texture on the outside and soft inside. So, to take this stream of consciousness further, I tried their Beverly and the avocado toast. The Beverly consists of fried chicken, burrata, arugula, sun-dried tomato gravy atop a fresh biscuit. Based on the Beverly (and the fries), I have no doubt that the other entrees will be just as delicious. I have only had avocado toast once before and it was pretty bland. Daybreak's version is really good. The flavor of the avocado mash, burrata, egg, truffle oil and sun-dried tomato is a great combination - it was way more flavorful than I ever imagined. I'm quite the carnivore, but the toast is a worthy vegetarian option. My second visit, I went the sweet route and had the waffle attack. The nutella, caramelized bananas, dulce de leche, chocolate sauce and whipped cream was also outstanding. Since I'm also a glutton, I would have liked another slice of banana and maybe more whipped cream, but really, this portion was decently sized. This place is a hit! They put some good thought into the menu and it's really difficult just to pick one thing to eat. A lot of it seems like hangover food but at the end of the day it's comfort food and we all love comfort food. The picture is of the Nash biscuit. YES! So happy awesome foodie spots are making their way into the Sterling/Herndon area!! We got the Charley (chicken and waffles) and the La La (Korean). Both were delicious. Waffles were crisp and biscuit had the perfect flaky crust! We can't wait until their menu gets bigger. The Bloody Mary and crisp mimosa were both on point as well. Stopped in around noon for Father's Day and throughout the duration I was there, all the tables were occupied. Our food order took FOREVER! Even though there were plenty of kitchen staff, we waited approximately 40 minutes for the order below: Nash - 2 orders of Nash. Did not sample. Garlic Fries - eh. The fries were soggy. Rocky Blue Fries - reminded me of poutine Waffle & Co - I recommend this as a shared dish. The waffle is ginormous. With the of all the toppings (chocolate sauce, condensed milk, whipped cream, and oreos) it is way too sweet and sugar for one person. NOVA Avocado Toast - even with a thick slice of toast, this dish ended up to be very soggy. Too much cheese. Kid's chicken tenders with fries - Too much fry/batter on the thin chicken tenders, though moist and flavorful. Perfect fries. + kitchen staff did apologize for the long wait and offered a free lunch - one of the kitchen staff was not wearing a beard net - no baby changing table in either women's/men's bathroom Suggestion: provide a water cooler station. I was able to get water from the soda dispenser using a coffee cup. read more

Was looking for something different on our way from Springfield to Leesburg for a day out for breakfast. Did not disappoint! So yummy with the options and great biscuit and chicken options. My only little quirks were that when I ordered a rather tasty cosmo ( they have the new botanical vodka!!! ) they did not have BOTTLED WATER a the bar!!! They sent back to the main line which was out the door! Not good! Any bar has water! Also, in addition to my chicken biscuit I was dying to order the Bella!
