Don't wear socks when you go to this food truck, cause they'll be blown right off. Food is made to order, so you might wait a little bit, but if you BYOB, the time flys and the wait is worth it. I've had sushi in places far and wide, Hawaii to San Diego and New York, even Denver and Oklahoma City, this place is right up there with the big ones! They have these spicy tuna tacos that are killer, their rolls are priced so well, and exploding with flavor. These guys don't skimp on the fish either, just simply awesome sushi. Come try this little truck out, they are definitely worth the visit. We ordered many rolls after the tuna tacos, like the "kiss my bass", dragon, carrot top, and Hawaiian. Every roll was super unique, and the really nice lady working there makes a spicy ponzu sauce poured over the sushi, it adds to the unique flavor. Good, not amazing. Delivery took over an hour and was longer than estimated. Not sure if it had been sitting a while because there was no crunch in the shrimp tempura by the time it go to me. Tuna tacos were spicy and very cutely presented on a bed of rice to eat but also to prevent them from being tipped over. Salmon roll was reminiscent of a grocery chain sushi roll so really so-so. I accidentally found this place out when I wanted to go to the Thai food trailer but was short on cash and the trailer only took cash. Then I saw the light. It flashed SUSHI...SUSHI...SUSHI. I'll be honest with you I wasn't in the mood for sushi and I had some serious doubts about eating sushi from a trailer. (I know it's weird but it's a strange thing I have). I ordered a bento box with spicy chicken which came with California Rolls. The wait took a long time but if there's a wait that means it's a good thing because their food is popular. It was a cold night and they offered us free miso soup to keep warm. I truly appreciated it because I was freezing my butt off. Since it was cold outside, I took it home and the bento box was really good. The spicy chicken isn't spicy at first but after awhile the spice kicks in and boy my sinuses didn't appreciate it. It's good to know this place exists and I don't have to rely on paying HEB sushi, drive to north Austin or pay a lot of money for sushi. The people that run this food truck are extremely nice! The food takes a while to prepare so be ready to wait 15 minutes. Everything I've had has been great! The taco sushi, the bento box, and the chicken bulgogi have all been amazing. When I saw sushi from a food truck I was skeptical except for the raving reviews. I have been twice and it's been amazing and everything I had hoped for. Super easy just cal ahead, place your order, and then bam you have some amazing sushi! The roll combos are a great deal too and very tasty! read more

I am completely impressed. This is a food truck serving Japanese and Korean dishes with the quality of a brick-and-mortar restaurant. Really, even better, considering the extensive menu that they offer! Wow! Even your friends who turn up their nose at sushi will definitely find something to their liking here. I recommend the Bibimbop, chock full of marinated meat and veggies with a tasty sauce over rice and topped with a perfectly fried egg. I'm drooling just remembering it. And talk about fresh sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi! No fishiness to be found here. And they don't just do the California roll routine, though they have those and other classics if you wish; but one of the rolls I had was called, "Kiss My Bass," with tempura bass and a lovely vinaigrette sauce. Now that's out-of-the-box thinking for unique sushi rolls! In addition, their presentation is phenomenal for a food truck--the rolls and nigiri we ordered were served beautifully and thoughtfully on real, actual dishes, as in breakable. (Check out the attached photos). Along with the outstanding food, the friendly and talented owners were eager to get our order just right. It was a perfect experience eating outdoors on one of those rare Austin fall days, with moderate temperatures. It was a great time that I'm eager to repeat, and I already have some new choices picked out (I've got my eye on the "Spicy Seafood Udon Noodle Soup" and Baked Mussels, since I'm a total sucker for mussels). We went here for an early dinner on Saturday because we've started venturing out more recently, but weren't thrilled with this place. First, safety: only the two people in the truck were wearing masks. We sat at a table towards the back and every single customer who came up was not wearing a mask. It should be a policy that if you want to get food from the truck, put on a goddam mask. Second, the wait. It took 30-40+ minutes for our first item to come out and there was only one order before ours. It's a food truck, not Uchiko, so the system should be amended. Third, bugs. Only ONE table had a(n unlit) Citronella candle. There were flies EVERYWHERE. The food was mostly OK. Seaweed salad was meh, but the veggie dumplings were good and probably the best thing that we had. The veggie roll was fine, as were the shrimp tempura and spicy tuna. We asked the lady to recommend a roll, and of course what does she recommend? The (unbeknownst to us at the time) EIGHTEEN DOLLAR Waikiki roll! So tacky to pick the most expensive item on the menu that wasn't even that good. Hibiscus iced tea was bland, but our daughter was pretty happy with her watermelon slushee. Overall, unimpressed with little desire to return. Some things maybe shouldn't be made to order from a food truck. Like sushi. Lesson learned. read more

Dawa-onderful! Hubby and I came to this wonderful little food truck on a warm October date night after a movie at the Alamo Drafthouse, and we had a feast. Seriously amazing freshly-made sushi rolls. We had the Shane with crab, mango, and avocado, and the Hawaiian (spicy tuna). We also had the fried rice and pot stickers. These were solid, but the rolls are where the magic is at. Shoot, even if you were thinking of sitting in a restaurant, ask yourself if it's really worth it when you could come to this place and probably pay less, not have to put on nice pants, not have to wait for table, and have some of the most delicious sushi with lots of options. AND friendly staff and BYOB. I got a couple rolls and man were they they bomb. Got the spicy tuna (cuz that's always one of my go to rolls to try everywhere) and then one of the fancier rolls. Both were incredible. About 8-10 lil sushi bites per roll. The miso soup is also dope. Oh man and those veggie steam dumplings. So soft and and steamy and yummy. There was mango spring roll that she made for us sans the crab meat, and the bibimbap without the meat and the egg. We also had a veg sushi roll. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful presentation of the spring roll and sushi, on a nice ceramic plate. The bibimbap was on a foam plate more in line with what we expected at a food truck; and the spoons and forks were of course plastic. The flavors were good and satisfying, if a tad mild. For $22 I got a eel roll, tempura shrimp Roll and four small spicy tuna tacos. I was only able to go through half and I packed the rest to go. Everything was so fresh, the rice was perfect texture and warm. The portions were very reasonable. The presentation was lovely! The truck is owned by a local Korean family and you can tell they really know how to cook! This is definitely on my list of go to sushi places. I'm confused on how this place has such good reviews. I ordered the salmon poke bowl and it was the worst one I've ever had. It had lettuce, cabbage, string carrots, seaweed salad, rice, small amount of salmon and a nice piece of clear PLASTIC in it. It tasted more like a bland salad than a poke bowl and I wouldn't recommend it. My friend ordered the bento box and chose the Korean chicken and said that it was so fried that it tasted more like she was eating pork rines. There was hardly any meat to actually chew on and mostly hard fried breading. We had the food delivered and the temperature was fine. However, there was no utensils to eat the food with or any sauces provided. I thought about giving it two stars until I found the plastic in my food. read more

Kyung and Lee could possibly be the nicest people I have ever met. They love what they do and they have such precision in their art. 2. The Food. They have nailed it!! Fresh and delicious food! I've been about 5 times now and never disappointed. The bento box is the best value. I usually get the seafood spicy udon soup and a roll. Just tried the green tea bubble tea today and it was not too sweet and the bubbles were warm and soft. Summary: Delicious and fresh. Didn't mean to place the order for delivery, but the delivery fee paired with tax and tip wasn't so bad. The food was spot on! I received the bento box with spicy chicken still moderately warm. The chicken wasn't so spicy and a little tough biting into the fried outside, but the taste was quality. The sushi in the bento box was fresh and certainly my favorite part of the meal. Came with equally tasty gyoza and rice, miso soup and a small salad. Other than the chicken, my only qualm is the size of the salad. But for the price, it was all reasonably portioned. I was really excited to try this place. I waited in line for 20 min to order my food. Once it came time to order my 2 spicy tuna rolls, the lady working stressfully said it would "take too long". When I asked how long she said she "couldn't calculate". She seemed really annoyed and stressed. I walked away sushi-less and hungrier than when I arrived. The girl before me in line ordered a simple boba tea and was told that too would "take too long" to make so she walked away empty handed as well.
