We pass by here a lot when traveling from TN to OH but have never stopped until today. As you come in the door you go through a line and then order at the front. You can get the buffet or order from the menu. My mom and I decided to split the beef tips with baked potato and my husband got the hamburger steak with vegetables. We were told we could sit anywhere so we picked a table and a waitress brought us a basket of warm rolls. They were delicious! She brought our meals out fairly quickly. We really enjoyed them. The beef tips were tender and cooked just like I ordered. They were seasoned nicely. My husband's veggies were delicious too. The hamburger steak was delicious. We really enjoyed our meals. We came for dinner while traveling in the area at a recommendation of local. You order through a line - there is a buffet option as well as entree options and the staff was helpful to explain the options. Buffet was southern country homestyle cooking. Enjoyed the salad bar, chicken, and steak options, as well as the ice cream. They have a large selection of food (fried chicken, mac and cheese, potatoes every way you can think of, variety of desserts). Staff was attentive and always cleaning the buffet area. The waiters are nice but the food has decreased in quality throughout the years. The waiters made us eait so long for our rolls and when we asked they were being so rude. Some of the hotdogs tasted raw. The setting makes it look like its a nice relaxing place to eat but in reality its not. Overall it has just been so bad and not money worthy. For 60 dollars you can serve 2 seniors and a child. Food prices are decent but not great, unless you're rich then they are just normal everyday food prices. It is terrible. read more

I ate the buffet, the wife ordered a filet steak off the menu, medium rare. The steak looked good upon arrival but was very rare (cold red) and had zero seasoning on it. She would've eaten it rare if it had just tasted good. A little salt and pepper goes a long way on a steak. The buffet had a good selection of food but unfortunately every entree I tried from the buffet was barely above room temp. The good news? The run of the mill salads were good. Potato salad, crab salad, pea salad. I didn't try the macaroni salad because the macaroni on top was discolored from sitting there and not being stirred. I don't like hard macaroni and I assumed it was. The atmosphere was pleasant. We tipped our waitress because it wasn't her fault. We did not complain at the restaurant because what would they do? Heat up the whole buffet? Cook another steak without seasoning? Sometimes it's best just to eat the lumps and learn the lesson. Disappointing. When traveling we like to eat local, but the probem with that is you never know what your'e going to get. When we arrived and were trying to decide from the menu we were told they were out of every kind of steak which was available except that on the buffet. We gave in and ordered the buffet. The booths are very tight and cramped. We really had to squeeze in and neither of us are large people. Although there were two types of steak on the buffet nothing was labeled so I have no idea what was what. One was cooked perfectly and very tender. The other was dry and tough. At the salad bar the dressings are not labeled so I got what I suspected was blue cheese dressing, it wasn't, I'm not sure what it was, but it didn't taste bad. I am on a bus trip with 40 people. The service was can do and attentive. The restaurant at 600 was 90% full so they are doing something right. Cost was $17 ..they had steak, chicken baked and fried, ribs, meatloaf, mac anf cheese...2 salad tables, 3 hot entree and side tables, 2 dessert tables and ice cream machine. I really enjoyed the meatloaf and pea salad, the yeast rolls were hot and as others described. Tim was one of servers so we got a few jokes as entertainment. I was very surprised at the quality of the food since there were a lot of people there and you would've thought fresh food would've shuffled through quickly but it didn't. Mashed potatoes were very runny and not much flavor. Not a good experience and will not recommend it to anyone. Drive half a mile and eat at Cracker Barrel and save money. We stopped here on our way to Kentucky for our Father's funeral. It was during the heart of Covid so we really didn't know what to expect from "Buffet", so we didn't choose that option. We ordered steaks from the menu and were treated to thin, not necessarily flavourful meal. The way the salad bar worked was you go up, masked and pointed to what you wanted. That was fine. It was the same with the buffet, apparently, but the line for that got stupid long when 2 large families came in at the same time. I'm not sure I would return. read more

Stopped in here to eat even though I usually avoid buffets. We were hungry and didn't want to wait. It's a clean and affordable buffet. For 2 people and drinks it was $28. Everything was fairly good and fresh. They bring fresh rolls to your table and also refills. This is mostly so you will tip which we did. I got a salad and it was shredded lettuce which is my favorite kind. Most of the meat is different types of chicken and some ribs. You can get a steak but it's a pretty decent size up charge. We just stuck with the bar. The dessert bar was kind of a let down. I got chocolate cake and it was stale. I also got a brownie and soft serve ice cream which was decent. First off. I would not call this a steak house. But the buffet is great! Less than $12 a piece for the lunch buffet. It has 8 "stations". Pretty much food for anyone. Chicken, fish, beef and noodles, salads, sweets, you name it. The wait staff is really nice as well. I really liked some of the foods and some I didn't. This place is surprisingly good. Homemade everything. I had a fried chicken thigh which was very thinly breaded and not at all greasy. The carrots we're fresh but slightly sweetened which could do without but not too bad. Corn I guess frozen but fine no added fat. This bean thing that had mixed beans and meat was tasty but not my kind if thing. As is the custom here and in the midwest they murdered every vitamin the green bean might once have had. My husband and I ate there on Friday August 11th at around 6pm and had the worst experience ever. Our waitress was not friendly at all and only checked on us one time. We had to ask for extra plates so we could visit the food bar. The food was nasty to say the least. My broccoli was cold and cheese didn't taste right. My husband said his steak was watered down like it had been floating in water for hours. The over all bar was just not up to standards. We were totally disappointed about our visit for sure.
