I was so impressed by Wrigley Taproom and Eatery. The menu is small and not printed, instead displayed on several blackboards adorning the walls, attractively written with colored chalks. As a "farm-to-table" type of place, many of the items included the name of the farm where the ingredients came from. As it was fairly busy I sat at the bar so as not to tie up a 4-seat table. Soon after sitting a pleasant smoky aroma filled the room and I saw the bartender fiddling with a kitchen torch. Making a Smoked Old Fashioned. So that's what I got. What bourbon, he asked. I wasn't sure so he walked me over to the side of the bar and there were so many! I decided on one arbitrarily, a local craft brand, and he approved. Only a $3 upcharge from the standard one. It was very good, though not as smoky as I expected. The cherry was premium, not the standard bar maraschino. I do like an Old Fashioned, but I sort of wished I noticed the list of specialty cocktails first, which were really unusual and intriguing. Such as the "Garden Gnome": Vodka, yuzu, olive juice, basil, St. Germaine, and gin. For beer lovers, a very large diverse selection, from Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Rhode Island, and Mexico. Most of the entrees are a la carte. Order sides separately if you want them. I decided on tacos, with sides of fries and roasted brussels sprouts. This works here even for a single diner because the sides are small and inexpensive ($4 and $5), though a larger size is also offered. The entrees also were reasonable, most $15. Even the Wagyu Steak was just $29, complete with sides. I've seen prices from $40 to $60 elsewhere. The tacos were Birria, which is a Mexican style of slow cooking meat - short rib in this case - seasoned with adobo. They included mozzarella cheese, cilantro, and pickled onions and cabbage. The flour tortillas were deep-fried and more substantial than usual. Two sauces were offered in tiny bowls. One was thin and was probably the braising liquid from the meat and the other white and speckled with green herbs, sort of like a raita. Very good. The fries, crispy, hand cut, crispy, and seasoned, were also very good. And the roasted brussels sprouts were amazing. The best ever - though I seem to say that often. Sauced relatively heavily in sweet maple glaze, tender, and not at all bitter. I was surprised that there were no seafood items on the menu other than the Smoked Salmon BLT taco. And vegetarians might have a problem here. Not much to choose from other than the Big Ass Pretzel or a green salad. For dessert I had Bourbon Butter Cake, with peaches, Amaro (a peach liqueur), bourbon, and ice cream. Good but it could have used more bourbon and liqueur. And it was warmed and served in a small cast-iron skillet so the ice cream was too melted for my liking. That's my fault. I usually ask for these types of dessert not to be warmed. The great meal was matched by the decor and ambience. Pretty brick walls, decorative chandeliers, and a huge welcoming rainbow flag. Maybe that keeps the MAGAs away. That's fine. They can eat at Chick-fil-A. (Joking. Everybody is welcome here.) read more

Located in a beautifully restored 1913 Greyhound bus station, it brings a masterclass in farm-to-table dining with original brick-and-mortar charm. It's authentic, eclectic, and classy without an ounce of pretension--you'll feel just as comfortable rolling in fresh off a lake day as you would celebrating a special occasion. We were in town for the night and came here for dinner on a Saturday night. You order at the counter and then grab a table. The place was busy but we got a table quickly! It has a quintessential cozy vibe but they have some good variety on the menu! We got the dumplings to start and then one burger, smoked salmon tacos, and a noodle dish! Overall the food was quite tasty! A great selection for a local small-town eatery! They have an excellent cocktail and beer selection as well. We got a few beers but the cocktails sounded great! A neighborhood-style, casual gastropub with good food and a nice selection of draft beers (as well as whiskies of course, this being KY). Limited service (order at the counter, but they do bring the food to your table) that wasn't the friendliest service by any means, but the food prep and service to the table were efficient and the food was good. The Sichuan dumplings were okay (nothing special), as was the four cheese grilled cheese (the crispy grilled bread was the strong point of this dish). The best thing about our lunch was the side of Brussels sprouts. They were cooked perfectly (a little crunch with some nice char on the outside). The honey-ancho sauce was fantastic -- a little sweet with a little heat. We pass through Corbin periodically and there's mostly fast food in the area, so this place is definitely a better option. read more

So, if I ever go back to this restaurant I wouldn't tip. You order at the bar, they hand you a drink cup and you fill it up yourself. So basically you don't have a waitress or waiter. We ordered the big pretzel for an APPETIZER, but apparently they don't understand that appetizers are served before the entree. So, all the young people were yuckin' it up at the bar, and I saw our orders get placed on the counter in the kitchen. They rang the bell twice before my wife went to the bar to let them know our food was ready. So in summary I tipped for a waitress that didn't exist, my food was okay but I really didn't enjoy my dining experience. What a wonderful surprise to find this bistro in Corbin, Ky! There really is not much to do around Cumberland falls and we were looking for good food and craft beer on tap! This was it! Food was amazing, draft beer choices were great and cocktails were so beautiful! I would definitely make this part of any visit to this area! My one complaint? It was so cold we couldn't enjoy staying. I'm not sure why the air conditioner was cranked so high. If only they had a patio outside; we would have stayed, drank and grazed for hours. We stopped in for lunch and everything from the restaurant itself, to the staff, to the food was great! We just happened to stumble upon this gem today. I started with the Americano burger, it is so simple yet packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The brussels sprouts were outstanding--definitely among the best we've had. I do not like brussels sprouts. However the sauce was delightful, and the cooking was spot on. The pub fries were served hot and had a satisfying crispiness. I tried the Sichuan dumplings, which were a standout. They had a super crisp bottom and a nice chewy top, this made them absolutely amazing. They come in orders of five per order. I also had to try the pretzels. They were served piping hot and perfect. The beer cheese was good, but pales in comparison to the honey mustard. It tasted like it had a little horseradish in it. The menu is pretty limited but my husband and I both got burgers and fries and they were delicious. Love this place! My boyfriend and I love coming here and have been about 3-4x now since January. I'm usually not a burger person but they make the juiciest, yummiest burgers! And the Amaretto sours are just perfection. Don't even get me started on the Brussels sprouts, they're 100% my favorite thing I get every single time! I had the best time here! The food was delicious, the vibes were great, and the staff were AWESOME! They made some great recs. We had the Loco Moco Smashburger which was delicious (if you've never had a fried egg in your burger - this is the place to try it). They had a stamp card, where if you knock out all the drinks on the menu you get a prize (a cute little tiki wine glass). I also had the Coconut bread pudding which just so happens to be my two favorite things combined, and miss Kendall found out it was my birthday and made sure I had a great time. I was very pleasantly surprised. I wasn't expecting much in a small town like Corbin. But the beer and the food was great. Be warned - the Big Ass Pretzel is huge. I could've gotten that as a meal by itself rather than an appetizer. But I did eat the remainder later that night heated up in the microwave at the hotel. I tried the thick-cut bologna sandwich with a side of brussel sprouts for the entree. I usually dislike sprouts but these were fantastic. Service was great as well and good atmosphere. What a great find food is all locally sourced. Menu is limited but for good reason each option is well thought out and use of fresh ingredients steal the show. I stopped and toured the Harland Sanders Café and Museum, opting not to have a fried chicken sandwich at the original KFC. Instead, I decided to find a place where I could get a cold beer, something for dinner and some wifi to write Yelp reviews. Here we are and thank you, Yelp! Fantastic service from a friendly bartender who helped me find the right beer to start with and the right beer as my dessert. I chose not to have the burger even though it looked amazing and made a healthier choice - the "Heirloom Tomato Salad." Slices of tomato, slices of grilled peaches, a piece of burrata and topped with fresh basil and a delicious dressing. Super healthy, amazing looking meal and just wow. This is a fun, busy spot. Nearly every table filled, lots of people coming and going, all having fun. The music was low enough that no one was shouting but and people were able to have a normal conversation. We devoured them! For my meal, I got the quesabirria tacos that came with the consommé on the side. These were absolutely amazing! I highly recommend. Fantastic local spot with an extensive bourbon and beer list. Two fun bourbon flight options tonight (I think they change them up). Vegan and omnivore options with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Tommy, is the resident vegan on staff though all staff members we spoke to knew what veg options were available. You can swap a breaded/cornmeal crusted tofu for most meats. Mama pulls a rabbit out of her hat (or phone) and we head to this place after a VERY trying day. It's very similar to a place in NC I reviewed a couple months ago with order at the counter for delivery to your table service. Not a fan, and keeps anywhere that does it from 5 stars. Mama got a smoked salmon taco and I went for the pork schnitzel, and I had a Sungazer IPA. Food was excellent all around, and the IPA was outstanding. But the self-bussing of my table and the order and delivery process is less than desirable. May be back if I'm in the area, but will probably look for a more service oriented establishment. read more
