We made reservations for a table of 6 but upon arrival, the whole place was empty and reservations definitely weren't necessary. It's pretty dark inside but the lighting fixtures they have are very unique! Wear a lighter layer under your coat/sweater cause it is pretty toasty in there. Our waitress took our order only to find out the prime rib that was advertised out front wasn't available - so she retook everyone's order about 5 minutes later and what I assume was the manager came out to apologize. He stated that he kept reminding the staff to flip the specials out front, assuming this is a reoccurring problem. Three out of six ordered the cowboy ribeye (another advertised special) and it was the same quality you'd get going to Waffle House, unfortunately. The fat wasn't rendered properly leading to rubbery texture and there wasn't a proper sear. 2/10 The other three of us picked the bowl of potato soup (6/10), Philly Cheese Sandwich (9/10), and Shrimp Scampi (7/10). The potato soup was pretty standard and could've used a little more seasoning. When I took my leftovers home, I added onion & garlic powder, kinders the blend, and salt & pepper and it was perfect! Shrimp Scampi tasted good but the noodles were well past Al dente. Not a big deal for the person who ordered it but something to note if you're a texture person. Overall, it was mediocre service (I think our server was new) and hit or miss food. It would be a great place to stop and grab some drinks at the bar, though. read more

Stopped here on our way to The Corbin Arena for the Foreigner concert. I had made reservations through Open Table but since we got there at 5:30, it didn't appear that we needed reservations. We like sitting at the bar and there were only two other couples there so we chose that. BIG mistake! The poor guy (Devon, Darren, some D name) who was bartending was so laid back that he would forget what people had asked for and didn't quite grasp the concept of take an order, place an order. We wanted recommendations but he had none. I was like what?? Ok well we will try the pot stickers as an appetizer while we figure it out. So he went to ring that in after he did a shot with the couple next to us. Yep, that happened! He brought us our beer and wine about 15 minutes later and we told him for dinner we will try the lemon chicken pasta and meatloaf with mashed potatoes and macaroni & cheese. My husband asked if it came with gravy and he said "Nope". So I said we can we get some? "Nope". Alrighty then. The bar started filling up and the couple that sat next to us said the hostess claimed there was a 40 minute wait for a table. All I can figure is they are short staffed. The place is actually quite large with several booths and an overflow room that was empty. So 20 minutes later we are wondering about that appetizer when we see a girl place a large tray on the bar and walk away. Dilbert, Dewayne or whatever his name was eventually makes it over and brings every single thing we ordered at once! He laughed and said well here's all your food. The pasta was good, the meatloaf was dry (shocker) and the best thing was the Mac n cheese. $82 bucks in all and yes we did tip. We should have stopped an exit before and gone to Texas Roadhouse. Had dinner here during a business trip. Decent food, good service. Had the loaded potato soup to start, pretty good. Got the house made blue cheese chips, these were very good. Then ordered the chicken fried steak special with house green beans and mashed potatoes. A bit of a disappointment for me. Green beans were delicious and mashed potatoes average. The country fried steak was crispy but was so salty it was almost inedible. Not sure if it was the steak or the gravy but it was way over-salted. Too bad because I was really looking forward to authentic southern chicken fried steak. Finished off with house made cheesecake that was really good. May have been best part of the meal. Very nice waiter. I was a bit irritated by the kitchen staff yelling at each other during our entire meal. They were so loud during the entire meal which killed the vibe they are trying to make. It's not a cheap place. Our steak dinners were $34 a piece. My husband steak and sides came out cold and the steak looked like it was precooked and soaking in water, small cup of green beans and small cup of mashed potatoes were both cold. I had the petite filet which was cold too along with the baked potato which was also cold and the small cup of steamed broccoli was not even cooked. The appetizers were really good. We got the pot stickers and buffalo shrimp each cost $12-13. My small side salad was $6. We had water to drink. Our meal was $105 for the two of us. We didn't was fast food or a chain restaurant so i looked on yelp to find a local establishment. It was a Tuesday night and only three other tables of two guests so not sure why our meal was cold. This place wasn't a Yelp find... I know, you're shocked. I was actually looking for Wrigley's and apparently the Apple map for Wrigley's is off track, so here is where I ended up. The sign on the front of the Depot was huge, people were spilling out and it looked like a hot spot. When we walked in we were greeted by the smiling hostess and my daughter and I were given single roses. Mother's Day was the next day, and this particular night was prom night, so what a nice touch! Classy! We started with an order of cheese fries and stuffed jalapeno poppers. The cheese fries were waffle fries perfectly topped with cheese and bacon. I even stepped out of my norm and tried the peppers and those were great too. My daughter and I split a fried chicken salad as our entree and the waitress offered to have it split on two plates. That too was excellent. It was a close 5 star experience for me except the bathroom was in need of attention, my mint julep (it was Kentucky Derby Day) was only half full, and my husband's IPA came out as a regular beer... was the bar tender trying to pull one over on us? Great service and excellent food. I ordered the depot salad with grilled steak one evening and the pan seared pork chops the next, and both were very good. The staff were very friendly,I would say down right chipper, and very attentive without being at all intrusive. Also, the acoustics were such that it was difficult to tell how many other tables were occupied, i.e. it was quiet, and my wife and I were able to talk to each other without raising our voices. This is the best restaurant in the area, and the. Next time I am in Corbin, I'll probably eat there every evening. read more

Amazing food! Having traveled from Chicago, home of all great food, we were staying at an awesome cabin at Sheltowee Trace Adventure Resort. We chose this restaurant downtown to support local establishments. We were there on a late afternoon weekday. As one of the only patrons, the large dining room was dark and quiet but as our eyes adjusted we saw the train themed murals, beautiful glass colored chandeliers, large center bar and were escorted to a comfy booth. We ordered FRIED BANANA PEPPERS, mostly because I've never had them and figured theyd have to be fresh. Served with appalachian mountain tiger sauce (a creamy horseradishy mayo smoked paprika) ! The breading was outstanding, flaky and the peppers were sliced longwise and it was a large portion! So Very Good! the special was a HAWAIIAN BURGER that we both ordered. Burger was tasty and cooked to each of our likeings (mine med and my husband med well) It was topped with swiss cheese, a grilled pineapple sliced, red onion, and the most lovely dark sweet gooey teriaki type sauce! Our server explained that the chef was good with sauces and indeed this was very true! She was very nice and knowledgeable about the food and its prep. The fries were excellent too! read more

Chicken strips, mashed and broccoli for me. Fried pork chops, broccoli and loaded potato for hubby. It was ok, but it had absolutely zero seasoning. It was bland. Think of Golden Corral bland but at least the food seemed fresh and cooked well. Then I asked for butter for broccoli, because it had no seasoning, and they gave me margarine. Blah! This was the worst dining experience I have ever had. I was seated at a table that smelled so strongly of cleaner that it made me sick and my husband's arms stuck to the table. We had to move to another booth. My waitress was not polite or punctual. We were offered dinner rolls but were never brought any. My food was actually disgusting but my husband's meal was just ok. Refills on his tea came very slowly. The manager never came to our table after we complained to our waitress and they took off $.90! That's it, ninety cents.I dont know how they have a business. They do not care at all if anyone enjoys the food.. I will make sure to tell EVERYONE how terrible the food and service is. The interior of the place is very nice and I would assume by the decor that it was more upscale in quality. That is the ONLY reason it has 1 star from us. read more

I had found this place online before traveling to Corbin. Once I arrived it was the rave of the town so I decided to go. First off I didn't try the steak or burger primarily because I limit the amount of red meat I eat and at the price of their steak and burgers I did not want to be upset wasting my allotment on a bad burger or stead at such a high price for the area. I ordered blue cheese dip and chips. This was very good tangy and savory. The potato chips were thick and crisp. Overall this was a different and delicious appetizer. For dinner I ended up ordering the turkey club. This is hard to mess up, but it wasn't the best club I've ever had. It came with a sauce that was too sweet for a club for my liking so I had to ask for mayonnaise which is what I love on a good club. The sweet potato fries were a little limp and soggy would have liked a little more crisp to them. Overall a good restaurant I give it three stars because I would say it was average. read more

Well-rounded menu with daily specials, delicious food, and great waitstaff. The Depot Salad topped with salmon or chicken is one of my favorites, along with the coconut shrimp. My husband says their steaks are excellent as well. Booths designed to provide some sound baffling, which is great during covid outbreaks. Open tables are also spaced to provide social distancing. Stop in for dinner on a Friday night and there was no wait... to be seated. Our drink and app order was taken quickly and arrived to the table just as fast. Blue cheese chips were wonderful and they did not skimp on the blue cheese!! Waitress was attentive and took our order and then the time saved not waiting on a table was lost... salads arrived, we're eaten and cleared and the wait continued. After 40 minutes we were finally served our meals. The Greek salad was wonderful, but be warned pepperoncini is hot. The others in my party had pork chops, they were small and uninspiring, suggested to not try the mustard sauce. My son does give the macaroni a thumbs up. Tuna salad on brioche because they were out of croissants, it appeared to be combined in a processor and was very wet. I didn't eat any but was told it wasn't very good. Fries were outstanding, crisp on outside and soft inside...perfection...sad to say it was the only good thing. Caesar salad: I've never had one with mixed greens and wasn't impressed. The romaine lettuce was fresh but in large somewhat uncut pieces, grated parmesan rather than shaved, dressing was ok but vinegar based and not made in house. I ordered salmon for my salad but it was placed on top of my salad cooked below rare...nearly raw on edges and completely raw in center. I sent it back but was discouraged when told he had it put back on the grill. I am an executive chef, you don't ever do that and I would fire the employee that attempted to, you always refire. I couldn't stomach much salad after removing the fish. This place could use better quality control in back of house and possibly training on proper fish cookery.
