We, like others, loved Guthries. So we decided to try lunch here for the first time since the ownership change. We sat on the patio which is probably the only saving grace this place has at this point. The view is gorgeous. The breeze puts you at ease. The service, seriously lacking. We got two glasses of tea and water. One refill that is. The entire time. The spinach dip is what I expect if I had asked one of my children to make it. A block of cream cheese melted with greens and topped with a slice of melted provolone I believe. It looked exactly how you imagine it would, gross. And tasted bland with no addition of garlic or salt. The chips were sparingly tossed on the plate and some were under cooked while others were hard and tasted stale. My husband had the club with sweet potato fries. I had the chicken salad sandwich with regular fries. The fries are baked I think, they are not crispy, crunchy, or hot. They flop when picked up. The chicken salad must be bought from a supplier. While Reser's is decent, this is not fresh, it's not chunky, the grapes are smushed and wilty. The croissant was nice and toasted, the tomato was fresh and the lettuce helped the presentation. All in all, this isn't worth the $50 I wasted on lunch, especially with the absence of our waitress. read more

The lasagna was awesome. They had the fish. The place was clean,the waitress could be more attentive but everything else was great.

We were on a mini trip to explore the Cumberland area and our Airbnb was located near Cumberland Grill. All of our food was delicious, nice atmosphere with lights and views of the lake, and friendly service. We had all you can eat fish until we could hardly walk. Hush puppies were spot on. My favorite was the beer cheese burger. I'm still dreaming about it almost a week later. Kids portions were good sized and their burgers were dressed anyway they wanted. read more

This place has just opened under the new name of Cumberland Grill, was formally Guthrie's, and is now under new management. According to the staff, they plan to hold receptions, banquets, and other events there. It appears that we have changed and updated the dining area and have emphasized the fantastic view the place has had of Lake Cumberland. The menu seems to have changed somewhat. The crab-stuffed mushrooms are amazing. My wife had Chef's Special constringing of Saturated Steak Tips with a Bourbon Cream and Herb sauce. I have the 7 oz filet with a mushroom and Pancetta cream sauce. Everything was great. The Staff was friendly and attentive. I noticed some items missing from the menu that I hope they will bring back once they are more established. I was glad to see this place stay open instead of being another vacant building in Somerset. I wish them all the best. read more

The server/ bartender was friendly but when I ordered a house wine, I don't want to spend $14 but then I didn't know that until I got the check. If a wine cost $14 please tell the person when they're ordering a house wine! I didn't ask for the wine menu! Was that my mistake? We were told there would be a person singing by the bar! That didn't happen either. There were rumors about what happened and it had something to do with it ruining the ambience of the restaurant. I was hoping for it because we were in the bar area! I ordered all you can eat fish. It was very slow to arrive and only 3 very small scraps of fish. No big deal it is all you can eat. I asked for another helping of fish. After waiting over an hour with no fish I paid I'd my bill and walked out hungry. Cumberland Grill is garbage. read more

Was a regular at the old Guthries and rated it as 4 star. Have tried Cumberland 2 times since the change from Guthries. In my opinion, it is a step down (3 star) from Guthries. The service has dropped, the food is not quite as good and I miss some of the Guthrie menu offerings. The salad bar is jammed into a small area with small containers that appear hard to view and keep full. Prices are similar to Guthries, which I think are a bit steep given the drop in service and food quality. A couple of sore spots: tables not ready even with reservations. Not having bread served (without asking). Having to chase down waitress (too many tables to serve), wait for food to be served. read more

Nine of us just enjoyed an evening meal here. BEST lasagna that I have ever eaten. The soups on the salad bar were delicious. We all enjoyed the biscuits with the two kinds of butter. Would drive from central Indiana to dine here again. read more

We tried it due to it's new ownership. Walked in around 5PM to an almost empty restaurant. That should have told us something. Our waitress was the only part of our Anniversary dinner that was refreshing and delightful. I had a Prime Rib with a baked potato. Meat was barely warm and cooked to "well done." I ordered medium. I think they get their meat from someone that sells them old cows. It was full of gristle. The baked potato, which I ordered with bacon, cheese and butter, wasn't able to melt the additions. It was sent back to be microwaved. Drinks, well I don't know if they have any alcohol at the bar. Wife's White Russian was a cream filled glass with ice. My Long Island Ice tea came with Ice and some coke. I will say the wife enjoyed her Crab filled Mushrooms. Gutherie's was nice. Looks like somebody bought the place, added some paint, redid the outside patio, and jacked up the prices. When we go out for a "Special Event Dinner," we except to spend over $100. We've spent allot more. But this was bad. Won't ever go back there again. We'll pick Reno's or Charred Barrell from now on. read more

This place has a cozy atmosphere with a window overlooking the beautiful lake! And the sunsets over the lake while eating your delicious lasagna is just absolutely mind blowing! If you love the lasagna you got to try the Cajun chicken pasta they have!!! Both dishes were absolutely flavorful!! Their salad bar was fresh and crisp along with their Gouda tomato soup and cheddar broccoli are to DIE FOR!!! They also have an amazing beautiful selection of deserts, we had the key lime pie and it was so refreshing after our meal it was the perfect house made treat! Whenever we come back to Kentucky we are definitely coming back here! read more

Terrible. Stopped for lunch on a Friday and sat on the patio to enjoy the lake view. We ordered three completely different dishes - chicken parm., pulled pork sandwich, and cod sandwich. All three dishes were horrible. Cheap ingredients and obvious lack of skill from the chef. Too bad, the place looked like it had potential, but proved to be a failure. Felt ripped off and left hungry (since none of us finished our meals). Pathetic attempt at a restaurant. Would not recommend. The view was nice, I'll give them that. read more

Eat here if you want to wait 1 hour at your table to eat frozen Gorton's brand seafood. All the food here is so obviously frozen with no effort in preparation. Waited 25 minutes at our table to be greeted by our server.. service remained unfortunate throughout our visit. I would rather eat a leftover gas station hotdog than return here. read more
