Cheeseburger and Fries

Was on a girls trip to the Longest garage sale on route 127. We decided to stop here because we love to go to little diners. The ladies that owned and worked in there were great!!! We sat down and ordered some different things and all was great, nothing fancy but good!!!

These guys are making absolutely delicious we'll priced food fresh!!! Burger, chili dog & buffalo melt were outstanding. So great to find such fabulous food. We got take out and service was friendly & fast. Wish we found them earlier in our vacation here. Would totally have been worth the drive for the quality & cost to feed our family of four.

Where do I begin? Wow! Amazing! This a small family owned restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and homestyle cooking. I already had this restaurant on my agenda, before a local highly recommended their cheeseburgers. I ordered the cheeseburger, small order of fried green tomatoes and a small order of onion rings. As recommended, the cheeseburger was very good and a great price as well! The onion rings and fried green tomatoes had the perfect amount of batter and both were very good. I wish that I had more room in my tummy so I could try everything on the menu! I ordered a peanut butter milkshake, which was nice and thick. Everything is made to order, but the wait was not long and the waitress was very nice. They have an ordering window, for which I noticed alot of people utilizing. Also, there is a small bar with soda fountain stools which makes you feel as if your in a vintage diner. The atmosphere and decorations are absolutely wonderful! The bathroom, as well as the entire restaurant was very clean and well kept. Russell Srpings is a two hour drive from Louisville, Ky., but it's definitely worth the road trip for such amazing food at extremely affordable pricing!

We ordered the fried mushrooms and they were lightly battered. They were amazing. They served them with ranch. Amazing. I had the regular cheeseburger which was cooked perfectly and served with crinkle French fries. I loved every bite. For dessert, my husband had warmed Dutch apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. What a way to end a meal!! I had the coconut cream pie which was fabulous as well. I would highly recommend this little place that serves amazing food with friendly faces. Thanks, Vickie and gang‼ Well done.

She indeed had the catfish dinner with cole slaw and onion rings. And she loved it, a huge order that would also be her dinner for the evening. I opted for the philly cheese steak sandwich tgat came with one side, coke slaw. The slaw was good and the sandwich was served with oinions and green peppers (I declined the mushrooms). It too was very good, steak was tender and the veggies were hot but still crunchy on a hoagie bun that was toasted. We had coconut and butterscotch pie for dessert. We split both slices and both, homemade were very tasty. Meriguine pilled high with creamy filling and great flavor. Plenty of parking, decent prices. They also have a drive thru. Service was efficient and friendly, although we did have to go up to the counter to order our desserts since the waitress didn't come back after we finished our meal to take our dessert orders. But the girl at the counter was nice enough to cut both slices of pie in half and put half of each in to go containers. Typical counrty cafe with clean bathrooms, a few booths, tables and a pay at the counter set up. I wouldn't drive 2 hours to eat here but if in the area I would return.

This is quite possibly the best restaurant to ever exist in Stanford…read more I grew up in Stanford, I can tell you that in the 1980's and 1990's that local restaurants here were nothing but no-name greasy spoon diners selling nothing but fairly generic "burger and fries" and breakfast food, and it was usually pretty lousy. I was back in the town I grew up in a couple of weeks ago, and heard there was a really nice cafe in Stanford now called the Bluebird, so I sought it out. I was amazed. This definitely is more like a place I would expect in Lexington or Louisville. The food is genuinely good. Iced coffee and espresso, hot browns, and lots of other food that was never in Stanford when I was growing up there as a kid. I know that Stanford went wet a few years ago in a referendum, but it's still surreal to see margaritas and other mixed drinks on the menu in a place in Stanford. The ambiance was friendly and welcoming, and struck a nice balance between small town friendly. I had a patty melt, which was probably the best meal I'd ever had in a restaurant in Stanford in my entire life. I will definitely be back the next time I come back to my old hometown.

Let's start with the expected: chicken fried chicken was amazing. The loaded fry appetizer also amazing. Sides were great. Mac and cheese and green beans both well above average to me. The waitresses were all so helpful and sweet. But let's talk about the other amazing part. This place feels right out of a post apocalyptic movie! If you've ever wanted to feel "out of this world" or in a community fenced off from the zombie apocalypse and struggling to make you feel some normalcy in your life... THIS IS THE PLACE. My goodness I loved it. An old couple in the corner was playing some Garth Brooks covers to set the mood. A "straight from the 80s arcade room" in the back had some flashing lights shine through the doorway into the main dining room. Also... this place was packed. The dusty parking lot did not have a single spot for us open and we had to wait on a parking spot. No wait when we got inside luckily. But back to the post apocalyptic vibe... I really can't explain it much better. The 80s arcade... the wood paneling on the walls. The old toy heavy machinery and trains lining the walls. The smell of the food thickening the air. Even the staff... all unique as can be!!! Don't forget the overstock Christmas plates they pulled out for us to use!!! Highly recommend this place for the food... but if you've ever wanted to experience what a restaurant would be like after the zombies take over... Give yourself a treat and come here!!!

It's one reason I don't go out for breakfast ~ I can make a pretty good breakfast at home. No use paying someone to do something I can do. So, going into Jackson's restaurant, a mom and pop restaurant specializing in home cooked style food, I had my doubts. Walking up to what resembled a school cafeteria lunch line only furthered my doubts. And, seeing the sheer number of different options sitting out behind the glass window only furthered my suspicions. Look, I was wrong. The food here is really good. The service is super friendly and helpful. I was so overwhelmed by all the choices I just told the lady behind the glass counter to pick me something. She obliged with a kindness that made me think she knew me somehow. She chose the chicken and dumplings, beef stew, apples, and two different types of corn bread. Now, I thought initially, and she even admitted, that the chicken and dumplings/beef stew mix was a little unorthodox, but that they were both so good I had to try them. Both were fantastic. The apples were awesome. I liked both types of corn bread. When I got up to leave, she called me over to the counter and said that since it was my first time there, I'd get a free dessert. You all, I was too full to even try. The food here is both tasty and filling. I was in Richmond for a conference at Eastern Kentucky University. So it was really convenient to stop by. But I'd say that even if you're remotely close, it's worth a visit. Don't, as I did, judge a book by its cover.
