Beautiful restaurant in Somerset, KY for high end dining. Chalet Gourmet is located on a beautiful property. They have indoor and outdoor dining. We'd love to try their patio next time! It's recommended to make a reservation and upon arrival we were seated in the quaint dining room. Ordered drinks and had tasty bread with Parmesan oil. Only wish is the bread was warm, it would be a nice touch! The menu had a little bit of everything from steak, seafood, and chicken, along with vegetarian options. I would have loved to try the Strawberry Salad it looked and sounded amazing! We ordered the Truffle Steak and Steak Frites (but on separate plates due to picky eater). Both meals were cooked well and tasted awesome! If looking for a nice upscale dinner in Somerset, this is your place!

Over the years, there have been numerous attempts to establish good dining options in Somerset/Pulaski County. Finally, after many failures, I believe Somerset has finally arrived with The Chalet. This new food option in Somerset is located off Thurman Road in what was once Holly Hills. The architecture of this place is simply unique. The exposed beams and woodworking inside would make the master carpenter proud. The ambiance combines modern decor with a rustic flair that creates a perfect setting for a special dinner or the start of a romantic evening. The menu for lunch is limited, but there is a more expansive dinner menu. The food presentation, taste, portions.. the atmosphere was phenomenal! I have had my share of fine dining experiences from all over the country, and I must say this place meets the expectations of some looking for dining options in New York City or the DC Metro area. Nothing was rushed; everything ran smoothly, and nothing took forever. They have set the bar of service very high for our site. We started with appetizers of Oysters Rockefeller, which were served baked on the half shell, with butter, garlic, spinach, and bread crumbs. I had the tea, which appeared to be freshly brewed and not pre-mixed. Next, my wife had a glass of Pinot Gris. Despite being a departure from the traditional recipe for Oyster Rockefeller, it was a unique and fantastic delight. However, I prefer to top mine with hot sauce, which was not offered, or some horseradish sauce to enhance the taste, but they were served with fresh-cut lemon, which helped to improve the taste. Finally, my wife had the Foie Gras--which was seared and served with wild berry compote, crostini, and micro greens. The Chalet salad is a traditional spring mix, parmesan cheese with egg and tomato topped with focaccia croutons (flat-leavened oven-baked Italian bread). I enjoyed the Fish and Chips for my entrée while they offered a Beef Wellington, one of my favorites, that I may try in the future. The fish was Rock Fish, a white fish with a delicate but sweet flavor, firm texture, and fine flake. It was served with tarter sauce and french fries. The more acidic sauce tasted fresh, although it is unclear if it is made in-house. We concluded with some of the dessert options. I selected the Creme Brulee. The custard was terrific, and the crust had just the right consistency. The Desert Flight offers a wide selection to accommodate the most discriminating palate. Finally, we enjoyed house coffee, an authentic piece de resistance to the evening meal. The staff is fantastic both in their attentiveness and detail. Chef Eduardo Nazario and Chef Michael Wells have done an excellent job in assembling a diverse menu. Our server was Ruthie, and she was a delight and very welcoming. This restaurant is certainly not the cheapest place, but you get what you pay for; that being said, if you are looking for a unique, high, upscale dining experience amid Somerset's overwhelming sea of Mexican and Chicken Joints, this place defiantly stand's out.

The food was delicious. We went for lunch. Small menu, but still a variety of flavor options. Everyone in my party got something different. The filet was amazing, one of the best I have ever had. It melted in your mouth. The fried green tomatoes were excellent, also some of the best I have ever had. The service pace was slower than I would have liked for a Friday afternoon lunch. It would be a great place for an evening meal on a special occasion.

Elevated dinner atmosphere. High quality meat and nice bread offered before dinner is served. We had a sweet waitress as well; will definitely go back here!

I was pretty disappointed in this restaurant overall because I had such high hopes! We went for an early birthday dinner for me & I honestly wish we would have gone somewhere else. The vibes were...well, awkward. You feel like you're walking into a huge house & as soon as you walk in, everyone just STARES at you. Not a welcoming way to begin the night! Our waitress wasn't bad, she just didn't really seem to have any answers about any of the questions we asked about the food items; she had to keep taking our menus & looking it over herself & then handing them back to us in order to answer our questions. Overall, though, she brought our food out the way we ordered it... Except for the steak my mother in law ordered and the Beef Wellington my husband ordered. They were cooked nearly opposite of how it was ordered! The steak was practically mooing and the Beef Wellington was pretty over cooked. Nobody felt comfortable sending anything back, especially because the chef was out in the dining area hugging guests he seemed to know & taking pictures with them so it would have definitely made us feel bad doing that in front of someone he knew (completely a fault on us, not him). However, I will say my shrimp Florentine was pretty delicious & our starters of Foie Gras, Beef Carpaccio, & Crab gates were delicious enough that we would definitely consider trying it out again!

We would come here every meal if we could. The atmosphere was very Vail x Kentucky and so appreciated. The staff was excellent and truly knows fine dining. What a special gem we found on our trip.

We came for an early Valentine's Day date and I made a reservation for the loft. This place is so intimate and quiet, the energy is so calming and light-hearted. The loft is darker and quieter, it's very romantic! Even with 3/4 tables full, it still felt like you were eating alone. Ruthie was our server and she was awesome! We didn't get appetizers, although we thought about it just for the sake of trying something new but ultimately we just weren't that hungry. The bread and oil before the meal was great! I ordered the Steak Diane and my boyfriend ordered the Truffle Pasta. Both were delicious, with enough to take for later so we could try each other's dishes later! There was a gentleman who checked on us periodically throughout the meal and he even let us know how the potatoes were made in house, I was just curious and he was super knowledgeable. Dinner was all around awesome. We tried the Chocolate Espresso dessert and it was to die for if you enjoy coffee but even my boyfriend who is partial to strong coffee loved it. It was the perfect size and a great end to dinner. I would recommend this place for any special occasion. :)

My food came out fast within about 10 minutes which was perfect for a workday lunch. I was warned it was a messy dish and took that as a challenge and challenge accepted. It was definitely messy but absolutely worth it. So cheesy, flavorful and filling. Easily one of the best fast food style replica dishes I've had. No shade to Taco Bell but this version is on a whole different level with better tasting ingredients and way more flavor. Taco Bell should be getting their recipe for their Crunchwrap and make changes to their menu to match this one. So so damn good! All that and it's just under $8. Quick affordable and incredibly satisfying. If you're in Somerset this Crunchwrap is a must try, but regardless check out serendipity, you won't be disappointed.

We didn't love or hate it. There was definitely a lot of room for improvement…read more Our service was decent. We had Angela, and she was friendly and did a good job, with the exception of *possibly* getting my husband's order wrong (it could have been a kitchen error) and forgetting drink refills that she offered & I said yes to mid-meal. When we reminded her as we were getting ready to leave, she did bring my drink in a to-go cup, which was nice. The food was okay. My husband: He said the coffee was the best he's had at a restaurant in a long time! It went downhill from there. He had ordered the pancakes with caramel apple topping and instead they brought him French Toast. (He didn't bring this to the server's attention, as we know to never send food back) His eggs were greasy and not very good. He said his sausage links weren't traditional links, but more like regular sausage that had been made into links. He didn't like them. Me: I wouldn't recommend the gravy. It didn't look like the photos in the menu and tasted greasy and bland. My bacon, egg & cheese biscuit looked like a 4-year old had put it together. The biscuit was sliced completely crooked, so there wasn't exactly a way to fix that. I took a video of me dissecting it so I could put it back together right so I could actually eat it. (can't post videos here so I screenshotted some pics) Once it was put together as best I could (half the cheese was on the potatoes) it tasted good and seemed fresh. The home fries were fresh/hot, but bland. A little seasoning would be great.. As for ambiance, towards the mid-to-end of our meal, we could hear one of the servers upset (we were close to the kitchen) about losing a section. There was some banter from a gentleman, and then we didn't hear much else. We were in the back of the restaurant so otherwise, it was fairly quiet. As for cleanliness, it seemed fairly clean, except the windows next to us between the dining areas had dirty handprints all over them. We were never greeted by anyone other than our waitress. There did appear to be a manager there (the man who have been talking to the server) but he didn't speak to us at any point, even though we walked past him twice and they weren't busy at all. While we did give it a mid rating, we are willing to go back and try it again. There aren't a lot of breakfast choices after 10:00 a.m.. And there's only so much Cracker Barrel anyone can eat. Fingers crossed that it's better next time!
