We sat on the patio which is probably the only saving grace this place has at this point. The view is gorgeous. The breeze puts you at ease. The service, seriously lacking. We got two glasses of tea and water. One refill that is. The entire time. The spinach dip is what I expect if I had asked one of my children to make it. A block of cream cheese melted with greens and topped with a slice of melted provolone I believe. It looked exactly how you imagine it would, gross. And tasted bland with no addition of garlic or salt. The chips were sparingly tossed on the plate and some were under cooked while others were hard and tasted stale. My husband had the club with sweet potato fries. I had the chicken salad sandwich with regular fries. The fries are baked I think, they are not crispy, crunchy, or hot. They flop when picked up. The chicken salad must be bought from a supplier. While Reser's is decent, this is not fresh, it's not chunky, the grapes are smushed and wilty. The croissant was nice and toasted, the tomato was fresh and the lettuce helped the presentation. All in all, this isn't worth the $50 I wasted on lunch, especially with the absence of our waitress.

My food came out fast within about 10 minutes which was perfect for a workday lunch. I was warned it was a messy dish and took that as a challenge and challenge accepted. It was definitely messy but absolutely worth it. So cheesy, flavorful and filling. Easily one of the best fast food style replica dishes I've had. No shade to Taco Bell but this version is on a whole different level with better tasting ingredients and way more flavor. Taco Bell should be getting their recipe for their Crunchwrap and make changes to their menu to match this one. So so damn good! All that and it's just under $8. Quick affordable and incredibly satisfying. If you're in Somerset this Crunchwrap is a must try, but regardless check out serendipity, you won't be disappointed.

While many places boast, the Goody Shack--a beloved seasonal icon for decades--actually delivers on the promise. The menu here is massive, ensuring there is truly something for everyone. Whether you are coming off the lake or just passing through, the portions are generous and the prices are incredibly fair. I can confidently say it's the best foot-long hot dog in the region. We ordered ours loaded with all the toppings; the beef was high-quality and packed with flavor--easily the best I've had in years. Execution is everything with diner food. The crinkle-cut fries hit that perfect golden ratio of crispy on the outside without being soggy. Even more impressive were the onion rings, which maintained their integrity and didn't pull out of the breading with the first bite. If hot dogs aren't your craving, they offer a deep roster of juicy hamburgers, chuckwagon sandwiches, and chicken options. From Cajun fries and hushpuppies to hamburger steaks and fried fish, the kitchen handles it all with ease. There is a reason the Goody Shack has remained a Burnside staple for generations. Stepping onto the property feels like walking into a 1960s sock hop. The staff is attentive and keeps things moving, even when the lakeside crowds gather. The place's laid-back vibe, relaxed mood, and unique character perfectly capture the vintage diner magic that is becoming more and more elusive. This is a "must-visit" location for your Spring 2026 Lake Cumberland itinerary since it is a seasonal gem. Whether you're a local or a tourist, the combination of massive portions, nostalgic flair, and those legendary chili dogs makes it a standout.

Her tenders were flavorless and so were the onion rings. We did have a nice appetizer of the ranchero tots. I ordered her a brownie sundae and that saved her meal. No manager, no one asked us how the meal was. My side salad, a blt chopped salad was wilted warm lettuce. This is how I left it. I was afraid of getting food poisoning due to the temperature. The wait staff has been pretty poor each time I visit. The manager needs to be involved in oversight here. We came in during shift change and the hostess was confused as to where to sit us. We were sat in a booth after she used a dirty wet rag to "wipe" the booth table and seats down. No one wants to sit on a wet seat.

I started remembering it as "Buffalo Wings, Rings, and Things." In fact, I think this name would be fitting because they are going for the seasoned wings and rings. The things could be the French fries and desserts. If this place takes that idea, I would like a commission...Lol. Of course, there is no Mandela Effect with this place. I self created it. Anyway, I was doing business in Somerset and decided to stop here and man, I am so glad I had taken advantage. They had a meal for under $10, 5 wings (drums) and 5 celery sticks. It was unique in that on their website, one could pick and choose drums from flats. I do not think any other wing place I have been to allows that. The wings were EXACTLY as I would have imagined. Compared to other places I have been to that sell wings (Buffalo Wild Wings, Wingstop, Zaxby's, etc.); I would state that it would be ranked just behind Wingstop and just over Zaxby's. Buffalo Wild Wings would be ranked last (when I was in college at UK, I thought Buffalo Wild Wings had it down and man was I wrong). I am so glad I tried out this place and it was walking distance from the hotel I stayed at.
