i was staying in corbin as a pitstop and this restaurant was across the way from my hotel. i saw the reviews were good and ordered some takeout. it was ready to go when it was supposed to be. the restaurant was cute and the food - OMG. im sad i dont live near corbin because this was one of my favorite chimichangas ever. the cheese sauce was amazing and they were generous with it. the rice was so yummy and so was the broccoli - especially with the cheese sauce. definitely recommend if you are in the area!!! read more

Great staff, everyone seemed to be on it for a Friday night. But my margarita on the rocks was not a real margarita-- it was made with some subpar mix and hardly any tequila and sugar lined the rim with green food coloring in it. It was so awful. I had to send it back. Also, my two cheese enchiladas have the cheese melted all the way... I can only assume that they were put in some kind of a rapid heater, but not for long enough. They were not hot and melted all the way through. This place really had the look of being authentic and delicious, but sadly it did not deliver. Maybe it was just a bad night? read more

Customer service is lacking. Service was slow. My Taco was cold when I finally got it. Was charged nearly $5 for slice of Avocado which they forgot to bring out with my Taco. First of all they seemed very busy, although we were seated soon after we arrived, it took what seemed like forever for them to take our order. Some other people were seated after us , order taken and served before our order was taken. After the food finally arrived my Husbands and sons first then 10 minutes later mine arrives My Husbands and sons dishes were ok. Mine was not good mine was greasy and hard. Not very tasty. The server never once checked on us to see how we were or if we needed anything else! When we finally finished our meal and sat visiting for awhile we had to ask for the check. Then when paying There was on person ahead of me and it took 15 minutes for him to pay. My turn finally and was not even asked how was everything? My wife and I travel by car to Daytona Beach twice a year and always stop in Corbin KY our first night. Our usual dinner restaurant is Bubby's BBQ, but Bubby's was closed the night we arrived and we had to find an alternate restaurant. We tried the Santa Fe Mexican and were pleasantly surprised. My wife had a combo plate including soup and raved about how good it was. I was not in the mood for Mexican and ordered a hamburger, which was OK but not great. A hard four and half star experience here. The service could use improvement, but the food was fantastic. We find ourselves in the area about once a year, camping and visiting Cumberland Falls. This is one of the Mexican restaurants located just off of the interstate 75. I've tried the other Mexican restaurant located on the other side of the exit, and I must say that this one is the better of the two. We sat out on the patio. Side note: although they have a patio, it's not dog friendly. The gate was locked, so I didn't ask, I just left the air conditioner on in the truck which was within eye shot from the patio. The lunch options on the menu were the typical and the two of us chose our usual. Me, I ordered a taco salad. Him, the chicken fajitas. They had a couple of lunch sized/special salad options. The basic taco salad came with ground beef or shredded chicken, so I went with the upgraded steak fajita taco salad. It was fantastic. The steak slices were perfect for the salad. Thin and cooked well, and the portion was big too. The taco shell were soft and one of the best things about the salad. You get the point, they serve a great fajita taco salad. read more

Stopped on way home from NC to Chicago. Waiter was really good, really efficient. Food was so good. Hubby had carne asada taco, I had veggie fajitas. Five stars for my husband's dish; three for mine. His was beef, mushrooms, onions and green peppers in this cheese sauce and it was extremely tasty. Mine was taco salad with chicken. The chicken wasn't drained and so it turned into a soup. It was sort of bland. The salsa was very good, refried beans were good. Loved the chips. The chiri Queso, which was good, was just too big. It comes with four tortillas and it would take twenty to even put a dent in the huge bowl! It was very good. Service was perfect. The biggest downside I found was the bass from the music in the bar. We came to visit the falls and white water raft. Wow! What a find. We brought our family and were pleasantly surprised with the quality freshness and friendly staff. No wonder this place has such great reviews! My hubs got the Chef's Special and let me tell you, NEVER have we ever come to a Mexican restaurant for a ribeye HOWEVER, upon reading the reviews he decided to give it a shot. He was so pleased with his meal. The shrimp and ribeye were delicious! I ordered the fajitas with steak and it was so tasty and flavourful. Our daughters got a the fajita quesidilla and taquitos. This place was great. Best restaurant we have eaten at in the Corbin Ky area. Portions were large. With free chips, Salsa, and Bean dip. Service was great and staff was very friendly. The Chefs Special was amazing. Ribeye, Shrimp, Sautéed Mushrooms covered in cheese dip. A cheese enchilada and beans and rice. For 15 bucks. Well worth the price and I was stuffed. Still fast, good service. BUT - I ordered one of my favorite Mexican dishes - Enchiladas de Mole. I'm a big Mole fan - this was not mole at all - just a teaspoon of basic enchilada sauce. Apparently locals do not like real Mole, so they fake it. Seems they are giving up on real Mexican moving to ordinary tex-mex, American, mild, flavorless food. Too bad - any Mexican restaurant will now do. Not my favorite anymore - but then, where is the really good, authentic Mexican food around here?
