On a road trip passing the area and BBQ was calling so we stopped. SO HAPPY we did!! Had the brisket which falls on the scale of some of the best I've had!! Right combination of smoke ring, crust was so good - right amount of spices!! The sausage with jalapeño was full of flavor. The coleslaw was fresh and crunchy! First time customer from Albany, KY. It was a long drive to finally get to eat at Durham's. It's been on my bucket list for some time now. We went for a Father's Day lunch around 1pm. The place was packed, the line to order was long and the wait for food was extremely long. When the waitress finally arrived with our food, she profusely apologized for it taking so long to arrive at our table. Being understaffed on Father's Day was the main reason we were told. I ordered the Jalapeño and Cheese Sausage basket. It was amazing! Tender, juicy and absolutely delicious! I went back to the counter to order a pound of sausage to go and was told they were out. Seriously folks?!? You didn't prepare for Father's Day and make enough food? I hear in the background they are now out of baked potatoes. The very next person in line was politely greeted and was told what they no longer had. They were also out of ribs. I will say their Carolina Mustard Sauce was to die for. I ordered 3 mason jar bottles to-go. Overall, my sausage was stellar. My cole slaw was a bit dry. My wife's potato salad was not edible. We tried to figure out was actually in it that made it so bad. We came up with heavy cream and sugar. It was just a guess, but it was really off tasting. The potato salad was super creamy and sweet. In closing, I would not drive all the way to London again just for the Ribs, which I really wanted to order, or the sausage which again was great. Everything else just made the trip there less desirable. Because of all of the issues we experienced on Father's Day, I'm really being kind here in giving them 3 stars. My family ordered 2 Tater Piles and they were served cold in the middle. Their excuse was that there is so much cold product that is put on the pile of cross cut fries. I'm sorry, but that is a really poor excuse to serve anything cold. They microwaved them to get them hot again for us. That even failed. It was still very cold in the middle. The prices are extremely affordable for what you get. Their ambiance is nothing to talk about. It's a BBQ joint, but the Blues music was really nice to listen to. More of a "Muddy Waters" vibe which I really enjoyed. read more

The pulled pork was pulled by hand and the undesirable pieces remove such as fat. Personally, I don't mind a little fat here and there but some folks do, and care for a great presentation didn't go unnoticed. Ordered the brisket. They slice it and weigh it and put it on the plate. After I cut away all of the fat, I was left with a very little meat. I left it literally on a napkin on the table so that they could see how much waste I paid for. Not a good experience and we've tried it twice now. Again, nobody seemed interested. If I ever go again, I will ask them to cut the fat off before they weigh it so I can actually eat something and get full. read more

As a retired military couple, my wife and I have had the best BBQ our great nation has to offer during our adventures in Texas, Mississippi, North Carolina, Kansas City, and Tennessee (our forever home). Durham's ribs are world class - the best we have ever had! My wife ordered the ribs and was speechless through most of her meal other than "mmmm, oh my gosh, and WOW" slipping out. She shared two of her ribs with me and I wholeheartedly agree! The smoke flavor and dry rub was spectacular - I personally would never eat these ribs with sauce... they don't need it! I ordered the brisket and pulled chicken plate. The brisket was very moist, tender, and flavorful. The chicken held smoke flavor well and was the perfect canvas for their selection of house sauces. All of the sides were tasty and we highly recommend the baked beans. The staff was so welcoming, polite, and helpful. They clearly take pride in their product and love what they do. This was the best barbecue we've eaten in a long time! My husband ordered the two meat as did I so we could share and taste several different things. Found this gem while on our way to Gatlinburg. This BBQ is top notch! My husband and I shared two 2 meat plates (which was more than enough, could have split just one 3 meat plate with sides and been good) we had the Brisket, pulled pork and chicken. Everything was delightful. It's hard to find good brisket that isn't dry and cold and this did not disappoint. Juicy, tender and fresh off the smoker. Everything had just enough smoke, but not too much. You could smell the smoke, and taste it but it didn't linger. We also had the fries, Cole slaw, beans and greens. Sides were huge portions for sides and plenty to share. The Hot BBQ sauce was our personal favorite. Peppery and tangy with just enough heat. If we are ever passing through again, we will be sure to stop. Don't pass this one up. It's worth the couple miles off the highway for a quick, delicious lunch! read more
