Cute decor with bright & beautiful colors that really set the vibe of the restaurant! Now I'll start by saying I live in California, so I never expect Mexican food in most other places to match up to my expectations. That being said, I tried to play it safe and ordered the chicken and steak fajitas, which were very tasty! You get a VERY large portion of the grilled meats, peppers & onions for a decent price, which I appreciated (and definitely had many leftovers from). You also get rice & beans, lettuce, guac, and sour cream on the side. Additionally, I opted for their version of a Cadillac margarita, which was interesting. I was surprised at the color of it (a pinkish) when it came over, but I think it's from the blend of juices they use. It actually wasn't too bad! I love a good jalapeno margarita and asked for some in the drink, which I think added nice flavor from the sweeter juice blend. Chips and salsa...not so great. The chips were nothing special, and the salsa was not edible. Super thick and not a good flavor. Otherwise, we all enjoyed our meals. A pretty basic but not-bad Mexican restaurant with many menu items to choose from. read more

Stopped in at a recommendation from a friend just for a quick lunch as we were going through town. Hubby had the burrito and taco, and I had the taco and cheese enchilada with verde sauce, which was superb! We know sooner took a bite of guacamole in our dishes were in front of us! Great Mexican food. I had the "Burrito on the Border" which is basically a fajita burrito that's covered with a creamy chipotle sauce which was super tasty. I had the rice as a side and it was very good as well. Service was excellent! read more

Don't really know about the food but the service was horrible.. we came in about 40 minutes before closing and the place was about half full, the greeter told us that it would be a couple minutes to be seated.. after about 15-20 minutes she said sorry we are closing! And nudged us out the door. after waiting that long, she should have told us that before we stood there that long!.. From being treated like we were not wanted, we will never attempt to eat there any more. there too many other Mexican restuarants in Somerset to be treated like that.. read more

The best chicken wings in town!!! The Peach Haberno Wings are excellent!!! You would not think a Mexican Res. would do chicken wings, but they are the biggest and meatiest wings in Somerset. Unlike our last visit to speedy tacos in Somerset,which used to be our go to,El Taxco delivered the goods. The hostess smiled as we walked in, the waiter was cordial and attentive, they seated us and promptly brought us water, chips and salsa, and took our order.We did not have to ask for extra napkins, they just brought them.The food delivery was lightning fast.The fastest I have ever had in a NON fast food restaurant. On top of it all, the prices were VERY reasonable, and the food was great. All the things that were lacking at our last visit to Speedy Tacos.We have found our new "go to" for mexican food in Somerset, and the name is EL TAXCO. Try them, you won't regret it. read more

Wasn't expecting to find a good Mexican restaurant here, but El Taxco did not disappoint. The best part was that they have outdoor dining and I was allowed to bring my Chihuahua out to dine with us instead of sitting in the car with it running. As long as your pet is on a leash, they don't mind. Service was fairly prompt. We both got the Chili Verde which was pretty good. Not as spicy as my homemade version, but I understand they "dumb it down" spice wise for the majority of folks who dine here (you know the ones...people who think ketchup is too hot. Lol) Overall, it was good food and we would go back. It's not the best, but for not having to cook it myself, I enjoyed it very much. read more

Best margaritas in town. Try the chipotle shrimp, it's amazing! Servers are super friendly. Cheese dip is awesome.

Save your money and eat at Wasabi. The half cup of Queso for $3.99 was the best thing about our meal and it was no different than any other Queso at any other Mexican restaurant. After taking our order, the waiter didn't check on us once. The salsa had WAY too much cilantro and looked as if it was ran through a blender, there was no texture. Tortillas are definitely made in house, which usually is a HUGE win for me...but these were a flop. Half was crusty and dry, the other half barely cooked all the way through. We got up to ask for drinks. We got up to get our check. It was our first time here and we will not be returning. read more

Can't say enough how great this place is! I travel for my job and am in different cities daily. I've tried lots of different Mexican restaurants, and this is by far the best! I had the Chile's rellenos stuffed with veggies and rice. This was topped with their excellent cheese sauce and pico de gallo. The service was great as well! Seating is quick. The salsa is so, so. However the salsa picosa is super spicy and makes up for the regular salsa. The chicken fajita came sizzling hot and one of the best I've had. Over all, not a bad place to eat dinner read more

Best Mexican in the entire region (from Ohio down to here!) Their food ingredients are always amazingly fresh. Can taste it in their chipotle flavored salsa, great pico & everything else! Great prices and drinks with heavy pours! Besides the awesome value, it's really our favorite spot and will travel from Ohio for their food! Worth checking out... when we're in the area, we eat here almost exclusively to get our fill before heading back north. read more
