This is a new restaurant in Corbin attached to a gas station and convenience store. We arrived mid-afternoon on Black Friday. There was one other table occupied when we arrived and there were two people waiting to prepare our food at the service line.
Moe's serves burritos and bowls customized based on your selections as you walk along the service line. My husband had a burrito and I had a bowl. If you eat first with your eyes, my dissatisfaction with the food probably began as I looked at the food on the service line. The containers and the food looked depleted and dried out. There were spots, splatters and bits of food everywhere. The containers for the beans and the ground beef were literally crusty. Apparently no one thought of wiping up between customers.
The food itself was rather bland and nothing tasted fresh. Even with liberal doses of sauces and pico, it tasted like rice and beans and a mix of something else poured out of a can. Even the steak bits I paid extra for were grey and tasteless. My husband seemed equally unimpressed with his chicken burrito. We shared chips that were hard but the guacamole was pretty good, as was the cheese dip.
The dining room was very clean and the staff was polite. Maybe the food is better at lunch time when it is fresh, but I don't think I will be craving Moe's anytime soon. read more
