Shaved ribeye tacos with a side of rice and beans
    Felix M.

I think this place is great , good food good service . The first thing you'll notice upon arrive is how busy this place can be , I would definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time ; at least 30-45 minutes ahead of time . The scenery was nice , very aesthetically pleasing . It has the modern Mexican style interior. Warm ambient lighting , all wood tables and chairs , morals painted on huge walls , and filled with plants . This place feels cozy, on busier nights expect it to be a very lively and boisterous. Now let's dive into the food . I ordered the chips and dips for an appetizer . The queso with chorizo dip and the guacamole. shaved ribeye steak tacos with a side of rice and beans . There's only two things I'm going to mention didn't impress me , not that I'm anyone who needs to be impressed of coursed . I wasn't the biggest fan of the flour tortillas and the rice . The tortillas don't really taste handmade and the rice really through me off with the lime they put in it I would definitely just be aware of those two things . But I personally wouldn't let those minor things stop me from recommending this place to Anybody , I loved it here . I'm probably the biggest fan in the world of chorizo with queso dip ; although it was a bit oily here ; making it a little challenge to eat it without it being messy . The taste definitely makes up for it , even the guacamole tastes great. They do keep the tables bare here so you will need to ask for things like napkins and salt . I'm probably just nitpicking there but it would be nice to have those things readily available. My favorite thing of the night was definitely my tacos . The shaved ribeye steak being a little fatty pairs nicely with the chimichurri sauce and vegetables of the taco , you're getting a very tender and acidic bite that pairs perfectly with the guacamole and almost any salsa you put on it . Overall this place is great to take your family or a big group of friends on a night you want to let loose a bit and enjoy some good food with a full bar in house .

We had a quick getaway trip to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg to have one more visit to Dollywood before the end of the year. We decided to try out this cool Mexican spot in the large shopping center being developed in PF. We had a 15 minute wait and decided to walk down to the Bealls to do a quick walk through shop, and in perfect timing got back to the restaurant as we were being texted to be sat. The server had been double sat with us and a large party of 12-did not make for the best experience but not the worst, I'll say. I can't remember the server's name but I do remember in conversation with him, he's Turkish! He was friendly but definitely could have used some help, we sat waiting for a hot minute as he chose to take all of their orders before even getting to our beverage order. Then even longer for our food, as theirs got delivered. My tacos were less than room temp, and had to send it back. The manager Bill was asked over and he delivered the reorder on the fly, out in ten minutes. I will say, the sauce choice for the shrimp tacos was honestly--distasteful both times. But it was hot the second time and ate around the sauce. My partner got the fajitas, and he said they were quite tasty--I grabbed a bite or two . Top shelf margaritas were great and kept us occupied while waiting for the first food delivery. The best part of this restaurant is truly the oversized mural of the one and only, Dolly Parton. We loved sitting beside it, and admired the mural during our entire visit. I'm not sure if this experience will lead to a return as we visit frequently in the Smokies, but if you're in Pigeon Forge and craving Mexican and a beautiful interior atmosphere, I'd say give it a try!

Jeison (jay-suhn) was our server. Jason was polite, respectful and his energy made our night really fun once he found out it was our first time visiting. Big shout out to Jeison,he made our night, even after all the mishaps Jason gives 10 Star Energy and customer service. This food was the best Mexican themed cuisine our family has had in the entire state of Tennessee. The originality of the recipes from the enchiladas to the molcajete ,the grilled fish and fried fish tacos as well as the steak fundido. Everything tasted fresh and seemed crafted with care.Azul Cantina in Pigeon Forge delivered one of our best vacation meals, living up to the online hype. Our Server Jeison (jay-suhn) was spot-on--friendly, attentive, menu-savvy, and kept drinks flowing without rushing us. Appetizers: Elote ribs with creamy, tangy, corn flavors that remind me of the California corn man well done Azul Esquites beef eggrolls brought the absolute best flavor combination of the night paired with great dipping sauce. I loved everything but I really could have stopped here and ordered six more orders that's how good these were if you get nothing else get these. Main Dishes: Fried fish tacos crisp golden batter on the outside, the fish moist and flaky inside., Steak Fundido tender, juicy savory steak smothered in melted cheese, with warm tortillas. The ribeye tacos were average there was more flavor of onions than there was the flavor of beef , the beef was tender but nothing to reorder. The beef enchiladas (literally the chicken enchiladas sub beef) were by far the best enchiladas I've ever had and my wife was mad at me for saying that but I don't really eat enchiladas so there goes that, she was only mad for about 10 minutes though, but was she!? Anyway get the beef enchiladas you won't be disappointed. Ordered the Cheese grits as a side.... stay away from these, stay as far away from knees as you would jumping off the bed blindfolded, really dry, flavorless, not very good Jeison took them off the bill. Last thing was the Host at the when we arrived at 6:00 p.m. seemed really irritated the whole time we were in the lobby my daughter started coughing we asked him if he could bring a cup of water while we waited to be seated he literally sighed like a 3 year old and said I guess ,and proceeded to walk to the back as if he had something better to do ,anyway we brushed him off he returned with the water we said thank you and all started laughing at the same time anyway once we were seated we had a good time. Everything felt fresh, well-seasoned, and balanced--making it our family's top Mexican meal in all of Tennessee. SO FAR...

This is a very cute restaurant I visited in October with friends. The food was great. We had so much fun listening to the music, talking to the waitress, and guests that I didn't get food pictures. It felt like a place where everyone knows each other. If you are on the mountain mile area, I would recommend.

Always amazing! This is one of the few restaurants that we are always sure to visit when in the Smokies. Let me just say that everything is excellent here! Starters include nachos and salsa. The salsa is made from roasted tomatoes and the perfect blend of spices which balances perfectly. Full of flavor, not to spicy, not at all bland. We always order the Pollo Fundido which is wood-fired chicken, grilled mushrooms served on top of grilled onions, red & green peppers, topped with melted Mexican cheese, served 'fajita style' which includes sour cream, guacamole, rice and beans. This is so good your tongue will fly out of your mouth and slap both of your jaws so as not to miss a bite! Full of flavor and very juicy wood fire grilled chicken cooked to perfection. Next time we will remember to order the Elotes (Corn) Ribs which is sweet corn quartered into ribs & fried, tossed in Tajin, cotija cheese, cilantro, drizzled with elote sauce. Perhaps the best part of tonight's visit was our waiter Miguel who truly enhanced our dining experience. He is very attentive and knowledgeable. It is evident that Miguel loves his job, his customers, and the food that he serves. If you happen to be here during a busy time, you can go to their website and either get on the wait list or reserve a table in advance. But even if you don't it IS 100% worth the wait. We will return again and again and will always ask for Miguel to be our waiter. (Seriously, Miguel is probably one of the best waiters we have had at any restaurant for a long time.) Tip: go to the Pigeon Forge Chamber of Commerce website for a coupon for free quest and chips!

The margaritas on the downstairs bar were amazing, the bartender was great and loved the complementary chips and salsa. The upstairs has great views of the Smoky Mountains, I wish I could say that the drinks or service upstairs were as good as downstairs but it wasn't; probably because there was only one person acting as bartender and server for several tables. The food was ok.

While having a little weekend getaway with my adult kids we stopped in. Once we arrived we were immediately seated. Atmosphere is very spacious and welcoming. Started with queso and guacamole, both were very good. Added a margarita flight of classic, blackberry and strawberry, my personal favorite was the blackberry. Food and service were good, a little more upscale than your traditional Mexican restaurant.

This was our first time dining at Azul Cantina, and as soon as you walk in you are surrounded by beautifully painted murals on the walls. It is a well decorated restaurant and gives good date night vibes for sure. My husband and I sat at the bar and ordered chips with salsa along with Elote ribs. Both apps were really good and went well with all of our drinks. The bartender was exceptional and very knowledgeable. He steered us in the right direction with our cocktails choices. All the drinks were delicious and unique. The ambience is a 10/10, food/drinks amazing, and service top notch. I will definitely be back to try some entrees in the future.

Tysin was a great server and was the highlight of our visit here! We were on a family vacation in PF and had a great time dining here. I agree with the other reviews that it is overpriced, but the family had fun and we were on vacation so I didn't mind. The place is huge, and has rooftop seating as well. We sat inside though because it was a rainy day. No complaints on the food, and we tried some seasonal alcoholic beverages that were good. I wouldn't necessarily go back, just because I think there's options for Mexican cuisine at a better price point with the same/better taste.

Great food. Quality food. Shrimp is awesome in various dishes. John, our server, did a wonderful job

This was our first visit to Azul Cantina during the week of a busy summer season. We stopped by on Wednesday evening, and so glad we joined the waitlist as it was 40 mins around 8 pm. Five stars for the food we tried. I went with the Pollo Fondito speciality fajita. Wood-fired chicken, with plenty of grilled mushrooms over a bed of veggies (grilled onions + bell peppers) topped with cheese. Served with the usual rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole and choice of tortilla. Loved the casual, rustic feel of the cantina. This is a huge place, with a rooftop and giant bar. Located in an upscale shopping strip with plenty of entertainment around. Save your receipt and get 10% off at the nearby ice cream shop for dessert. Our service was good, just it was so busy, they forgot to give us napkins and silverware. Had to ask 2 employees for some. Our server replenished the yummy salsa when she saw it was low. If we're in Pigeon Forge, we would defiantly come back and wait for a rooftop table!

It took a bit for our server to come acknowledge us but once he did, he was very helpful and attentive. He enjoyed it and said it's one of the better ones he's had! We both ordered smash burgers and sweet potato fries - I had the junction 35 (pimento cheese + bacon jam) and he had the farmhouse (bacon + fried egg). Both were amazing! Juicy burgers, perfect size patties for smash burgers, the buns were fresh and held up nicely, and the toppings were great. Sweet potato fries had a great crunch and were seasoned really well. Service was great, food was high quality and had great flavor, and the dog friendly patio was perfect for our pup. It's located in a nice little strip of shops and restaurants, and has a common area of cornhole and other games that would be fun for an activity before/after dinner, or if you have kids in tow. My wife had the petit 7-ounce filet (wet-aged Iowa Premium USDA beef tenderloin, center cut, fresh-cracked black pepper and kosher salt) and a Caesar Salad. Her steak was cooked perfectly and she really enjoyed her Caesar salad and the twice baked potato as her side. I had the New York Strip (dry-aged Iowa Premium USDA prime short loin with the bone. Fresh-cracked black pepper and kosher salt), and a chopped salad (chopped baby greens, tomato, pickled onion, artichokes, cucumbers, hard boiled eggs and citrus herb vinaigrette.) The steak melted in your mouth and the salad was fresh with a delicious citrus herb vinaigrette dressing. My side was the asparagus which again, was very delicious and cooked perfectly (I could have had another serving!) They also served some very tasty hot and buttery spoon bread which was very close to the original recipe that was created near my home in Berea, KY. Between the salad and the main course, we were served a lemon sorbet as a pallet cleanser. For dessert, my wife had the crème brûlée and I had the butterscotch budino. Both were very tasty, but personally for me, the butterscotch budino was a tad better -- but you cannot go wrong with either. We don't drink, but there was a great wine menu and over 100 different bourbon selections. We will definitely return again. Reservations are highly recommended!
