    Rooftop bar

I cannot believe this place is in Sevierville. I make it a habit to seek out rooftop bars in every city I visit and this place is up there with the best of them. Gorgeous aesthetic, great service and beautiful views. It does not get any better than this. I almost didn't want to write this review bc I don't want all y'all finding out about it and crowding me out!!! But it deserves the accolades as does the restaurant downstairs (Seasons 101 - see my other reviews for that one). This place is incredible.

I was driving…read moredown the parkway and wasn't sure what to eat when I glanced to the side and saw a building with my name on it. With a cool interior design, Paloma offers some delicious Mexican food. To start, I had the Paloma Guacamole, fresh and tasty. They give you the choice of blue or yellow corn tortillas, which you can taste and are freshly made. I also tried their white sangria, which was refreshing and delicious. I had their Yuca Fries and a Pork Carnitas Taco. Their food was delicious and had great flavor; however, I found their prices a bit steep, $6 for a single taco was kind of wild to me. Overall, Paloma was good. The service was kind and the food was good.

It wasn't that busy but the 3 workers were running around...I mean 3 seated tables! Eventually, our order was taken (also breakfast). We asked 3 times for extra cream for the coffee. The coffee arrived after the food without extra cream. Wife likes a lot - we let it go. I specifically asked for no syrup on my french toast. Well, you probably know what happened here - syrup on the french toast. We did mention the syrup and the server offered to change it and claimed he/she did submit our request. I declined...I used to work in the food business and it's burned in to my brain to not send food back. The food was pretty good and the server was trying but seemed overwhelmed.

The grits and biscuits were standout and the jelly selections (blackberry and pepper) were great. The other breakfast fare was okay. The servers (Amanda, Teresa, Blakelyn (sp), Dan, the young lady Amanda was training)), the hostesses, the chefs were all so congenial and obliging. Nothing at dinner was memorable other than the pickled vegetables with the chicken wings. That was down right phenomenal and will be replicated at home.

I've had the fortune of being a passholder for two years now, soon to be into my 3rd alongside my husband ‍‍ . We've always felt welcomed, seen, and loved by every (and many) Dollywood employee we've come across, with the only exception being the one of the 2 hostesses at the stand upon entry to Ember and Elm. Nothing abrupt, just tone and expressions whilst we waited for our table to be ready. Beyond the host stand, you're greeted by incredibly precise design--modern meets Smoky Mountain charm. Chatters of conversations all around you, but well insulated for sound absorption--great work on this! Our server was first visit was Alice and she was an absolute joy and extremely friendly and punctual--even with a full table section. We ordered to go our second time visiting due to the lack of availability (no complaints and not surprised!). We look forward to exploring more of your food selections and other dining options as we renew our passes this fall season!

Had this been my 3rd or 4th visit, and I got the same level of service then as I did this 1st time, I would give them the full Five (5) Stars!!! My family and I stayed in Townsend TN over Thanksgiving week. I decided to visit a couple of Cigar stores while in the area Stopped at two cigar shops in Pigeon Forge and found they were raping people with their prices. I purchase Arturo Fuente Hemingway Short Story cigars for $8.75 in N. Fla. The Pigeon Forge stores are charging a 45% premium for the same cigars. Thus, my search for a quality Cigar shop continued which in turn lead me to Destination Cigars. I found Destination Cigars via a Google search and am thrilled to have been able to go by and see the place, meet and talk with the owner Charles. Charles made me feel like we've been friends forever. He was happy to take time to discuss the cigars they carry and find out what I like and smoke and then make recommendations based on that. He was also helpful in introducing me to new cigars that I wouldn't probably have ever tried. Oh, and Destination Cigars only charges about $1.00 more for the Hemingway Short Story cigars instead or $4-5.00 like the tourist trap cigar shops in Pigeon Forge. I highly recommend anyone visiting the Great Smoky Mountain National Park to take a little time out of your visit to stop by Destination Cigars, peruse their cigars in their walk-in Humidor, meet and talk with Charles, pick a stick out and sit down in their lounge area, smoke their cigar and visit with Charles and the other patrons of the business.

It took me a while to write this review because I was still trying to process just how disappointing the experience was for the whole family. Let's start with the positive: the staff was genuinely lovely--from the warm greeting at the door to our server and the buffet attendants. Everyone was kind and attentive, and they were doing their best. Now, the food. While the buffet was abundant, much of it was barely edible and did not taste freshly made. My teens--who love fried chicken--took one bite and declared it "unedible," which was my first red flag. They reverted to the kids' station, but the mac & cheese was mushy and unrecognizable, and everything else there had been steamed to within inches of its life. I tried to rally enthusiasm with the donut wall, but despite being coated in sugar, the donuts were oddly tasteless. Many items across the buffet were overly salted--yes, even the greens were sodium loaded . At the made-to-order station, I tried the stir-fry, which was unfortunately drowned in what tasted like bottled sauce. Our last hope was the crêpe station. I understand this is a high-volume restaurant, but the crêpes were clearly prepackaged, reheated to order, and filled with canned fruit. Once again: edible, but barely. We did manage to laugh together about how much we love Dolly Parton--and how shocking it was that food this bad carried her name. I can't speak to ordering off the regular menu, but I strongly recommend saving your hard-earned money and skipping this buffet altogether. Perhaps a freshly made omelet might have been better, but nothing here justified the $65 per person price tag. Aunt Grannies at the theme park is definitely better, but since it was a holiday we eventually went to Bucc- ees later to get better food .
