We stopped at this restaurant while traveling - what a find! The menu offered the largest variety of authentic looking Mexican food that I have ever seen. I ordered the Alambres and I was blown away by the beautiful presentation of the dish, large portion size and excellent preparation. My husband's selection was equally as impressive and we were only able to consume half of our meals. I will definitely alter any future travel plans in this area of the country to get back to have another delicious meal at the El Dorado. Most of these Mexican restaurants are all the same. Chips and salsa upon being seated, large menus with tacos, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, and so on. That's what I expected from here even with the low Yelp rating. I figured it would be pretty average compared to other restaurants. It was unfortunately below average. I got two chicken tacos with rice and beans. The chicken tasted barely seasoned but at least it was cooked! The rice and beans were incredibly bland. Overall not very impressed with the cuisine. My coworker ordered beef enchiladas and got shrimp instead... he mentioned it and they were eager to fix the mistake and all was well. The employees didn't seem overly happy to be at work which always makes my dining experience a little worse- I don't like supporting places that can't treat employees well. I don't intend to go back to this restaurant because I prefer a little more flavor in my food. read more

I was amazed at how small the place was when I walked in, and that there was no bar, so my husband and I grabbed a table. We each got a margarita and they were pretty tasty. We also decided to get an appetizer platter, which we ended up taking a lot of it with us since the platter was huge. The food was good and fresh, plus well worth the money. However, I was amazed when we got the check to see how much the margaritas were. This is just your ' basic' Mexican restaurant. Yes they're food is good, but so not worth the price! They're so expensive. I always ask for queso when they bring salsa and chips, and when I look at the bill, the little shot glass basically full of queso is right at $4, I recommend going on over to fiesta Mexicana for sure or head on over to Corbin to their restaurants!
