I met a friend at Casa Amigos for lunch. Before going, I checked with a few friends who live in Berea and they said that it was their favorite Mexican restaurant in Berea. I arrived at 11:30 (they open at 11:00) and the restaurant was already busy. As with most Mexican restaurants, the lunch started off with complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were a little disappointing and stale. I was expecting fresh chips (since it was 30 minutes after opening), and I believe that they were left over from the previous evening. The salsa was very good and flavorful. I had the Pollo Casa Amigos ($12.99) from the lunch menu (grilled chicken and California vegetables on a bed of rice with cheese sauce). There was a very generous amount of chicken. The meal was very good. Full of flavor. Vegetables were cooked perfectly. I also ordered a side of fresh jalapeño peppers (fried). The fried fresh jalapeños were very good. As with all jalapeños, some are hot, some are not (which the restaurant has no control over). These were not as hot as I hoped, but again, this is not the fault of the restaurant, just an observation. Whenever I am in the Berea area and wanting Mexican food, I would definitely eat here again, but it's your typical Mexican restaurant. The only reason for the 4 star rating is due to the chips being stale. Other than that, definitely worth a stop! read more

Large portions, friendly service, and great food! The Mega Burrito is HUGE and full of steak, chicken, shrimp, and chorizo!!

We haven't been here in a while so we decided to stop in while in town. I had the carnitas tacos Mexican style and they were amazing! The Carnitas had been griddled so they got a little crispy and extra delicious. The salsa that came with them had a little spice and was a great addition to the tacos. Great meal! read more

Wow what a wonderful tasty place to eat. Only down side we found. No alcohol is served. We had the seafood nachos and fajita trio. They start you with a basket of chips and salsa. Very good homemade chips. The nachos were very delicious with a homemade cheese sauce. The fajita was very well cooked and a very large portion. Service was very quick, friendly and food service was also very quick. This place is right off of the highway and well worth a quick stop here on the road and looking for really good food. read more

Come here after church now and then. They give you free chips and salsa, which is great. The chips seem to be made in house. Their portion size and prices are fantastic. The super burrito and mega burrito are amazing. I hope this place never changes its methods or pricing. read more

I'm so glad we found this place! We stopped for lunch with the kids and the place is very clean, very friendly staff, really good food. Highly recommend. I had the fajita taco salad and it was tasty. The super burrito was humongous!!! Definitely shareable it if you are extremely hungry. The kids had the pizza and the kids burrito. The fajita lunch was huge too. Overall we had a wonderful lunch here before we hit the road again. At first we were going to Wendy's, but left quickly because it was filthy and smelled. So happy we did. read more

When this place opened it was so good but now blah blah. I am a chicken, cheese and rice girl. I also love the cheese and chips. The order was so bland no flavor, the chicken and rice had such little cheese on it that I thought I didn't tell them cheese. Then the chips and cheese were so bad. The cheese dip was so watered or milked down that it poured out like water. And the chips oh my was so cold. Yes I got in my car and grabbed a chip and it was like it had sat there all night. If half stars were an option I'd give them 3.5 for the food but I'll round up instead of down because the service was good and the place is very clean and has a pleasant atmosphere. The food was fresh, hot and tasty and solidly what you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant in Berea, Kentucky. I did like the beans as they had more seasoning than the usual fare but the salsa was a little on the bland side for me. It's a good place for groups as there are lots of large tables. It has lots of windows so it's a pleasant dining atmosphere. My dining partner enjoyed the Burrito Deluxe and I had a cheese enchilada and bean burrito. The vegetarian options were pretty limited, unfortunately. I was pleased there are Mexican style tacos on the menu since you can't get those anywhere else in town and we will try those next time. If you are like us we were not ready for the sit down restaurant experience due to covid 19. This evening we stopped at a little mexican restaurant Called Casa Amigos on exit 76 in Berea Ky. They have an outdoor seating area with picnic tables. The food was good and so was the service. I'm sure if you called you would be waited on without even going inside. I'm traveling through the area. Had a craving for Mexican. I have had ALOT of burritos.. the super grande burrito here is a top 5 of all time. Yes it's big, but more important is that the steak, chicken and shrimp included where all grilled perfectly with just a bit of charred flavor.
