I really don't know how this place has such great reviews. I love breakfast food, but there aren't many places that serve breakfast all day. I don't know how I came across David's, but when I found out that I could get breakfast all day, I was so excited to try this restaurant out. My friend and I had a reservation at 6:30 p.m. on a Friday. Since we had a reservation, we were seated immediately. It seemed like there was a long wait for people who were walking in; I think I might've overheard that there was a 45-minute wait for a table of two. This restaurant is located at the new hotel. Since I had been craving some food breakfast food, I ended up getting both the Buttermilk Pan "Cakes" and Hong Kong-Style French Toast. My friend and I also shared the Cast-Iron Maryland Crab Dip, which came out with pretzels. The Cast-Iron Maryland Crab Dip was too salty; even the pretzels were salty. The other two dishes were just okay as well. The service was not that great as well. I wanted to ask the server for a clean dish since I knew that I would end up with leftovers. I couldn't find the server, so I just gave up and used the dish I had used for appetizer. I am glad that I tried out this restaurant, but I probably won't be going back. We we're greeted by Tony Custis and he was an amazing "HOST' he provided recommendations and advised about specials and specialties. I went to David's because of the pictures of breakfast foods looked really appetizing and interesting. I got to the restaurant and stood there for about 5 minutes before someone inside noticed I was there. He led me to a table after making a comment about a hostess usually being up there but he hadn't seen her in awhile. Took another 10 or so minutes for a waiter to show up. I ordered the tall "tower" pancakes that I'd seen on here from previous customers. 20 minutes later I got a stack of normal pancakes. Needless to say I was disappointed. The pancakes were fine, just like pancakes I could make at home. Didn't see a waiter for the rest of my time there so I left cash for the bill and walked out. read more

Wow. Starting with the service - Mahadji (sp) was fantastic. He was friendly, made excellent recommendations and was extremely attentive. The crab dip and pretzels were delicious and the portion size was perfect. The Parmesan chicken was perfectly breaded, and the tomato, garlic mash on top was delicious, but very garlicky, which I did not mind. My wife loved her miso salmon. The whole experience was perfect. I created a yelp account just to let everyone know how horrible this place is. I once went there for breakfast.. was the only one in the restaurant .. they had way too many people working at the time yet it still took 30 minutes to get eggs and they came out overcooked dry and cold. The service was awful, the portions were small and everything is way overpriced. I just gave them another try for lunch because I was playing poker at Maryland live and they are the only option for table side service. Also, how could they possibly mess up a turkey club right? Well they did. The turkey they use seems like the cheapest garbage packaged stuff from Walmart... the bread was dry... they literally used one thick piece of turkey for the whole sandwich... one piece of bacon and the avocado was just one large chunk. and it was $16 for this! Even the potato salad was awful and the fruit bowl came With literally one chopped up strawberry in three pieces and had 5 blueberries in it and it cost $11. This place deserves negative stars. Great atmosphere and tasty drinks. Unfortunately the good ends there. We had crab dip, wings and calamari for appetizers. The wings were not bad but the other two we didn't even finish. The calamari was old, tough and dry. The crab dip was flavorless. I had the parmesan crusted chicken with pesto whipped potatoes. The chicken was terrible with huge pieces of gristle the crust was almost burned in some parts and nearly uncooked in others. The potatoes had no evidence of pesto but tasted strongly of parmesan and were more of a riced consistency. My husband ordered the burger medium rare and it arrived over cooked and dry. I expected a lot from this place from the reviews but I was sadly let down. And the noise level was out of control, not being able to hear my partner and all the birthday parties just screaming. So the atmosphere was pretty horrible, if you want to go somewhere that you can't hear your party without yelling this is the place. The food was horrific, as a starter, we ordered chicken wing lollipops and crab dip, now as the crab dip was banging, the chicken wings were so sad we could only laugh at these hard baby wings(not impressed). For entrees we got ribeye as it was recommended and shrimp pasta. We ordered our steak medium and it came well done lol. Although in the photograph above shows an impressive looking steak that was not the case when we cut into it. I told my party I normally order it one under as chefs don't really know how to do temperatures correctly. Not to mention the unseasoned mash potatoes that came with it was disappointing. The pasta was horrible and bland. We had to season it at the table and the sauce had wayyyy too much cheese in it, which made the sauce hard and dry, which made the whole dish difficult to get through, we had to drink water after every bite. After such a disappointing meal, we decided not to give dessert a chance. All in all, this place has a lot of hype, however it was a huge let down. The second time was for a nightcap and bar service was trifling (slow, bar tender misunderstood a red wine and ginger beer order). Today is the third time for happy hour and it's even worse. No HH on Fridays...ok, got it. They were out of an ingredient for my drink, price didn't change. Out of the Pinot Grigio I ordered. I had to wait ten minutes for a spoon for my dessert. This is the second time I've tried David's. The first time I figured it's a new restaurant so I'll reserve my comments for later. Now, I'm here again and I have to be honest. I'm highly disappointed with several things. 1) wait time to receive food- I waited 32 min to receive an omelette. So when the food arrived I was wondering if the toast the server brought out 7 min prior was mine but she realized I didn't have my main entree so she held it at the bar, however she didn't know I don't eat cold toast. 2) the omelette was not as expected. I received an eggs which were cooked in round omelette pan, with sautéed vegetables placed in it, then folded. Wait I'm so confused, because this was not an omelette nor the vegetables or cheese were incorporated into the actual eggs, just folded inside. 3) when serving Single serving Jam Jars- I think they are considered trash once opened, I would never re-serve to my guest. Not even worth complaining at this point. I try not to complain about food considered my background in the industry but, don't market a restaurant to a standard of something you could receive from Golden Coral. Outstanding. Was here, oddly, on business at the Casino for 3 days. We had the opportunity to eat here on multiple occasions. The shrimp and grits was a stand out for me, went back for it 3 times. Giant burger with fries top notch. Salmon with Bok Choy was spectacular some of the best prepared salmon I've ever had. Many other dishes we tried were all extremely well presented and prepared. What's truly awesome is the pricing, not the outrageous pricing you some times find at Casinos. It's not cheap, but quite fair for the level of quality. You will not be disappointed, congrats to the chef for such thoughtful presentations and savory goodness. My husband and I dined at David's for our first time and will not be going back. We were there on a Thursday night and I saw 5 servers and only 7 tables were occupied and our server only had one other table. The server was MIA most of the time and we couldn't find him to order more drinks or to let him know the food was overcooked. I asked for a glass of ice and I had to ask 3 times before he brought it. The Crab Dip appetizer is horrible. The worst ever crab dip. It was very dry and not a piece of lump crab meat. The meat looked like it was pulverized and not much of it for a charge of $17. My husband ordered a burger and it was over cooked. Did I mention the MIA server? We waited and waited to let him know the food was overcooked and when it came again, overcooked. The customer service at this location is disgusting and lack of! Supervisor Paige does not know the meaning of customer service. She looked me in my face and lied continuously regarding something simple "a return call" regarding an "overcharged bill". Spoke with Nichelle (supervisor) and once again she failed to follow-up as well. This matter is so simple that it shouldn't take a week to get an answer. My family and friends went to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday but this lack of customer service to get an "overcharged amount" corrected is ridiculous. Left several messages and to no avail my calls are not returned. Spoke to Paige three times and each time she promise to call me back. I do not care how long this continues to get resolved.....I have time! I will continue to call everyday until this matter is resolved! I will never patronage this restaurant again because its pretty obvious the supervisors do not care about the customers. Note: if we as the customers stop coming to this restaurant, Paige will NOT have a job! Great Customer Service is the key!!!! Following up as you promised is as well!!!!! Food and service are great...came from gambling and it really hit the spot. My biggest complaint is the fact there was a small mouse running around...seriously??? Isnt that enough of a reason to get shut down?! I did my best to try and snag a picture, but you know...those smal mice can be fast. Im truly disgusted and the fact that we told an employee and no manager or apology was given baffels me. If they can get rid of the mouse issue, i can easily give this place a 4 to 5 star rating. This is not your typical casino cafe. The food was very good. We had crab hash and Mediterranean salad. Excellent! Bartender took very good care of us and made the drinks the way we wanted them. I hope this place keeps up its quality and survives. It's rough starting up and without took much foot traffic. I recommend some more coupons to get the word out. read more
