I came to her with very little knowledge about the process or what was even possible with the gown. She helped me create a vision, gave me thoughtful structural advice and options, and guided me toward decisions that ultimately led to the wedding gown of my dreams. She began by having the dress cleaned and brought back to its original color, then stripped it down to the base fabric and rebuilt it from there. We discovered it was just slightly too short, so she offered creative suggestions for how to work with it. She was patient with me at every appointment as we discovered what would work with the realities of the dress while still honoring my new vision. She added multiple layers, boning, and the perfect basque waist, and now it fits me beautifully. It is also surprisingly comfortable. What started as a 79-year-old vintage family heirloom became a bespoke couture wedding gown that feels like it came from a high-end boutique. I am forever grateful for Bridgette's patience, creativity, and expertise and would recommend her to any family, friend or loved one looking for a personalized, uplifting experience! Weeks ago I brought in ten pair of jeans for my two teens. The woman told me there was no need for any trying on except one pair each and she'd hem all pairs based on that. I asked her to allow my kids to try each pair on as we've always done because each pant is different in style. She wouldn't allow that and insisted one pair pinned would be ok. I was reluctant but she insisted. Two weeks later we picked up and one kids pants were fine but the other, all five pair were 3 inches too long still and the written tag said "shorten to 28"." We took them back and the man (husband?) was pretty aggressive insinuating it was our fault they'd need to be redone. He took a yard stick and measured my sons inseam and it was 25"...not 28". He said his wife had been getting ready to leave town for a wedding and must've made a mistake on them. No problem, I was kind and gave him no timeline to repair them. I thanked him profusely and left. Today my son and I picked them up and the man met me with "she said it was your sons fault not hers, he asked for that length." What?! Why not just hand them to me and say have a good day?! I paid A HUNDRED AND EIGHTY DOLLARS for ten pairs of jeans to be hemmed. They were not done correctly by a professional and at pick-up you're going to look at my 14 year old and say "it's your fault!" Who's the professional?! Who's the one tasked with the pin that was placed?! Not the child! The yard stick doesn't lie! I called the man out on his gas lighting accusation at my son standing there and he got loud and began yelling, telling me to just get out. Their prices have DOUBLED but I paid it. I expected that the professional knew what she was doing and when there was a mistake, I expected it corrected. My son should not have been blamed at the counter for the fact that his pants were returned several inches too long, nobody asks for pants to be so long they can't walk. It was a mistake, just fix it! The yard stick showing 25" inseam vs the tags saying "shorten to 28" don't lie. Yelling at women, a child and customers in general isn't a good business practice. I will tell those I know to follow me elsewhere. I believe it was an honest mistake just due to having two different sized kids with two different hemming needs. My other sons were hemmed to a perfect 28" as he asked. I believe she did the same hem to both sets instead of the 28" and 25" that was needed. Her husband was mad and I think she blamed us so he wouldn't yell at her (I don't blame her!) Again, his yard stick and my tape measure along with the written tag she created...don't lie. Even if it is the customer's error, good practice is to just fix it in order to keep a customer who's been coming in for probably 8-10 years now! We will never go back, this man is a bully in my opinion. I am including photos of the fixed pants at the proper 25" inseam and the tag saying "shorten to 28". I'm also including my son's measured inseam showing how long 28" would be, nobody asks for that...it's the point of hemming! The error was not ours and we did not deserve to be told we were trying to scam this man, get free fixes and screamed at being told to just get out. Funny thing is, I had a $20 tip for him in my hand too for a mistake that was theirs! He didn't get it SHAME ON YOU SIR!

My son's measured 25" inseam. Note the tape measure ending at 28" which would leave him walking on his pants.

There are a couple of reasons why I'm only giving one star, but I would like to begin by saying my consultant, Brittany, was really good. She did a great job of trying to juggle two simultaneous appointments because her coworker was out sick. She was nice and helpful and I appreciate all her help. That being said, our appointment took almost two hours and I only tried on 4 dresses. Other appointments I had at other boutiques were 30-45 minutes because I just tended to go fast and don't like to stand around in front of a mirror for long periods of time. But they were understaffed that day and Brittany had to stop helping me to go help another bride and I would stand there on the pedestal for 15-20 minutes in a dress I knew wasn't a contender. The dressing rooms are tiny!! The size of a bathroom stall, and if you're wanting to try on ballgowns, good luck. We ended up rushing out of there so we could make another appointment that we had afterward. The dresses in general were pretty cheap (all under $2000, some even around $500), which is great, but they definitely looked cheap, too. Especially comparing a $1500 dress from David's to a $1500 dress from White Flower Bridal, there is no comparison in quality. All of the dresses I saw at David's Bridal looked hastily put together and made out of cheap material with designs that were nothing too special. Brittany's service, though, is the reason I never wrote a review (as it has been months since I've gone in). But now I decided to because David's Bridal gave all of my contact information out to other businesses. In order to secure an appointment, I had to give my phone number and email address and everything---standard procedure, I understand. But now I'm getting calls/texts/emails from The Pros Photography because they have a package deal with David's. They even set up a website with my name and wedding date. I'm a private person and this MAJORLY creeped me out. I understand that it isn't illegal for businesses to share this information, but it's rude. I never signed anything with DB. All I went in for was a disappointing, unsatisfactory appointment. My phone number and email address are displayed online now and I am being overwhelmed with spam about securing my DJ, photographer, and videographer. All things I have already had booked for months. Not once was I informed that my personal information might be leaked. I never even thought that the company would think of doing that without permission. I had requested NOT to subscribe to DB updates and advertisements, so I don't know what made them think I would be okay with receiving information from companies I've never heard of and never had an interest in. Very unprofessional, in my opinion. Don't waste your time on these cheap-looking, non-unique dresses, and poor company management. Try White Flower, D'Angelo, or Dress Theory instead. I had been considering still shopping there for bridesmaids dresses, since it looked like they had a good selection of those. But now I will just go elsewhere. read more

The review I leave for Maddy and Avalon won't do them justice. I had a very particular image in mind of what I wanted and wanted to get that image across to them. They listened to me and helped me pick out five dresses. The first dress was cute... But, you guys, the second dress. I didn't know I was going to cry. Like, I'm cute, but I don't cry over clothes. When I put on that dress... I looked like a real princess. I looked like a bride. My friends cried. My family cried. I cried a lot. Even Maddy cried. And when I tried *the* dress on, my friend said "its 11:11 make a wish!!" ...I tried on the other dresses, but none compared. I tried on three more dresses before I tried on dress #2 again and decided it was the one. I put on a circlet and a veil and petticoat. It was over the top. It was perfect. It was better than I'd ever imagined. I didn't ever imagine that I'd be so moved. Maddy brought me a bell and told me to make two wishes; one for my wedding day, and one for my marriage... and once I cast the wish, to ring the bell (still crying).. I rang the crap out of that bell and felt so blessed. This day was perfect. Down to the 11:11 minute. Down to the dollar. Down to the freakin' phase of the moon. I ended up canceling my other dress appointments at other bridal shops. Maddy, thank you so so much. I don't have words to tell you how much your special contribution means to me, and I'm even sure I'll remember you and the wishes I made on my special day. Thank you so much. read more

My bridesmaids dress was a custom order that took a long time to come in. When it arrived I realized the dress was damaged on both shoulders! The wedding was only a month away and I still needed major alterations on top of the damage to be fixed. I was so worried it was going to cost me more than the dress itself to fix and rush alter. Thankfully I had Hailee at the La Mesa, San Diego Davids Bridal answer when I called panicked. She assured me everything would be okay and to come in so we can view our options. When I came in we tried to find the same dress style/color at another store that might be available to swap out in time. It was nowhere! Not even available to re-order! And neither was the one other style the bride liked. Hailee did an amazing job of contacting corporate to get approval to have a rushed replacement made. She's a life saver! I was overjoyed to get the approval and my dress even came in sooner than they predicted! I'm so relieved. Her customer service was on point as well as her problem solving. Thank you Hailee for saving the day! read more

I had the most amazing experience today. KATHY was my stylist and I couldn't have asked for better. She showed me a great selection of dresses that perfectly fit my style. At first I was extremely hesitant to even walk in the store for my appointment only because of the horror stories about just David's Bridal in general. But i was seen on time by someone who took my information down. Later I was met with my consultant Courtney and she was an absolute doll. I came into the store knowing what I wanted and unfortunately David's Bridal did not have what I wanted but she went above and beyond and tried to look for exactly the styles I was looking for. She didn't find my dress but only because the type of dream dress I was looking for was not at that store as well as their dresses were not my style. I still appreciate my consultant for being extremely patient and looking for what I want but it was not as bad as everyone makes it seem like it is. My consultant was amazing and I advise everyone to go to her. Weddings are stressful. Everyone knows this, the months of planning and organizing, and the money that is involved really takes a tole on you. This is especially true when last minute your sister decides to change the theme of her wedding. Luckily we came to this location and luckily we met with Shelli. She managed to make us feel completely comfortable during this high stress situation and had some amazing input on both the wedding dress and the bridesmaids dresses. She even picked out the dress that became my sister's wedding dress! She took the time to put us in heels, try out different accessories and even let my sister try on a tiara and veil. I understand that several businesses have suffered from COVID, but it's just bad business to not allow returns or even store credit for gowns purchased for wedding that couldn't happen. A 7 day return policy was their answer?! Then they had the audacity to recommend selling to a resale store. This is not a tiny private business. David's is a well known ESTABLISHED company. And to do their customers like this is just selfish. Brides everywhere already lost their special day. No sympathy from David's at all. Hundreds and thousands of dollars spent on just 1 wedding party is thrown down the drain. To save their bottom line? I know losing my business and my families will not bother them, but maybe just word of mouth will prevent others from handing their money over to greedy companies like this. Michelle at the Grossmont location has the patience of a saint. Also be aware that they make you pay for alterations. They word it to make it sound like "They will take care of it... Stitching work was messy, no fabric was actually cut, just *unevenly* folded over and sewed over the folds she made, which were very visible when the dress was worn. Zipper was somehow broken and the stitching that was holding it was coming undone. The dress also has a la Veneto bodice but it completely lost its shape. The dress did not complement my body at all anymore and somehow made a sleek dress look like a nightgown. Overall the stitching looked as if it was all made in a hurry, with no thought put into it. My dress has floating beadwork and I really want to stress the fact that they thought it was okay to fold over the fabric and sew over that, and call it a day. To my understanding, you're supposed to take out the old stitching, take the beads out by hand, cut/adjust the fabric, and then hand sew the beads back on. The seamstress did none of that. Not to mention she wanted us to come back another day, after delaying the pickup for 3 days already. She then said she would get it done that same afternoon so we could "go away already". It seems like they specialize more in quinceañeras, so I am not sure about the quality of work for those types of dresses, if that's what they specialize in then I hope other people have had a better experience than me. But I do not recommend this place specifically for wedding dress alterations, I had to pay way more to get my dress fixed.

In order to get 20% off as part of their promo, I had to spend a certain amount, so I decided to buy the dress + alterations package. The alterations were through a separate company, Magic Touch Cleaners priced at $499 I booked my appointment but a few hours later the manager from Magic called me back and notified me that Coco Melody has not paid them for the past few months and as a result they would be terminating business with them. Even worse, when they tried to claim their money, Coco claimed they are out of business and are refusing to take further phone calls from them. I immediately filed a claim with my bank to dispute this shady behavior. I'm extremely disappointed.

All of her materials are sourced directly from France and she makes many of her dresses custom to her customers. The dresses are beautifully designed, with intricate and delicate details. I am working with Christina to create a custom dress for my wedding. As a curvy petite woman, she is helping me find the right cut and shape of the dress to accentuate my figure while helping me feel much more confident. And the prices are incredibly fair, especially for a custom dress! As a note, there are a lot of helpful reviews currently not recommended by Yelp (I'm not sure why) - I highly recommend reading them as well. They also speak highly of working with Christina. I definitely recommend visiting Christina if you want a beautiful one-of-a-kind dress. And the business is locally-owned and female-owned, which is a cherry on top for me!

I was of the opinion that I didn't want to spend a fortune on a dress for one day, but I also still wanted to feel beautiful and feel myself. So I was having a hard time finding a dress that I could see myself in...that wasn't also a fortune and wouldn't also need to be altered to fit my style. I noticed Christina's store one day while I was walking in North Park. Her style is just so timeless and unique all at the same time...the lace is hand sewn in France and Christina designs the dress based on your requests and with her own flare. You can customize one of her designs or create something new...if you have the time : ) Christina and her assistant were so helpful, as I was on a time crunch, but the result was amazing! I really wanted silk for a light and yet elegant look, for the heat of Mexico! She just delivered in almost every way. She genuinely heard my desires and concerns and met every need. I wanted to be able to dance freely in my dress, wanted a light feeling, and loved the monstera lace and low back. It really was a joy working with her, she was as excited as I was for the end result! If you are looking for something not overly exaggerated in price, but also very unique Christina is your designer! I honestly never thought I would have someone DESIGN my wedding dress...but it was the best experience and still very reasonable in price, especially when compared to some of these more massively produced wedding dress designers. And your are supporting a local shop in San Diego! She does have another shop in France as well : ) Also of note...as she has such a great sense of style... she also has plenty of accessories to recommend or sell...just gorgeous! Christina merci beaucoup!!!

THANK YOU AURORA!…read more After a nightmare wedding dress experience they saved my dress just in time for my wedding! I have sent many family members here for work as complicated as wedding dresses to things as simple as pant hemming and they have quickly become our go to seamstress! This is a small business so I can get pretty busy especially in a small shop and they have primarily Spanish speaking seamstresses but you can't beat the price and the amazing work they do. Even if you don't speak Spanish, they will try their best to communicate, and nothing some Google translate can't help with. I will say the only downside is they don't contact you when your alterations are ready but they are on time with the dates the originally give you and you can call to get updates.
