10/10 experience, would highly recommend for any brides looking for a dress. Trinity helped me during my 2 hour appointment and was patient and helpful as I worked my way through different dresses. The dresses they receive are either from other bridal stores, sample sales, or on consignment, so the prices were super reasonable. I brought along two people and they were comfortably situated while I tried on dresses. I went through the racks and Trinity helped pill out the ones I was interested in, and then helped swap them out in the dressing room so that it wouldn't be too overwhelming. I found a beautiful and affordable tea-length dress here that I used for my civil ceremony and rehearsal dinner. It's so sad because when I came here and got my wedding dress it was such a great experience but then I brought my friend here and the service was very poor they didn't even seem to care about the bride, they don't offer champagne anymore and overall just didn't seem to care that this was someone's big moment. They really took our timeline into consideration, even with some of my last minute requests, and the pricing was very reasonable. Do not sell your dress here unless you want them to never contact you and donate your dress. I co-signed my dress and never heard back from them. Then I contacted them near at the end of the contract and they told me that they wanted to keep the dress and thought it would sell. So they extended my contract but I did not know for how long. I was never contacted either by email or phone. I finically wondered if the dress ever sold and contacted them after it had been consigned a year. Then they told me that the contract had ended 6 months ago and they had donated my dress. I understand if you do t pick up your dress that they might donate it, but I never expected to not ever be told to pick it up or when the contract ended. So now my beautiful wedding dress that I could have just kept it anyone had contacted me had been donated and I will never know where. I just can't believe that I wouldn't even receive a phone call, text or email about hey please come pick up your dress or we are donating it. This is horrible service and while buying from them is over priced I certainly wouldn't consign with them unless you really never want to see that dress again. read more

On top of that, I lucked out and got it at a super discounted price ($500!!) with the tags still on and no alterations. The consultant, Andrea, was super nice and accommodating. She did a great job at listening to what I liked/didn't like in the dresses and selected the dress I ended up purchasing. I don't know where to begin...I can't recommend Christina at Winsome Brides enough! Not only does she do AMAZING work, but she also keeps it affordable! I made the mistake of ordering a custom, made to measure dress from Anomalie that was supposed to recreate a 2012 Ines di Santo Lissome wedding dress that is no longer made. What I received from Anomalie in December (7 months before my wedding) was one of the most unflattering things I have ever worn. In the picture of when I received it, I actually did not lose that much weight for my wedding, but I look enormous because the dress was many sizes too big. I'm a street size 4, and it was probably a 10 or larger. I wasn't quite sure why it didn't look like the pictures but knew something was off. I took it to Christina and showed her the model pictures, and she pointed out that the dress I received had the following issues: 1.) The bow was a sad half bow instead of a regular bow 2.) The train on the dress I received was a normal train instead of what the model had, which was a false train 3.) The front of the dress had a seam in the middle of it that the model did not have. Christina said that almost no wedding dresses have this because it draws the eye to the waist in an unflattering way. 4.) The lace on the front was not only tucked into the middle seam but was also tucked INTO the cups causing the top to not lay flat Christina wasn't sure she could fix all these issues because she needed the exact same lace that was used to make the dress; however, I was able to get Anomalie to send it to me given the MANY issues with the dress, and Christina and Yilo SAVED THE DAY! They did the following: 1.) Yilo re-did the lace on the entire front of the dress to get rid of the seam at the waist and make the sleeves/top lay flat on my neckline 2.) They took the dress in so it actually fit and did not make me look enormous 3.) They cut off the train and gave me the false train I was supposed to have 4.) They made the train on the bow and the bow DETACHABLE so that I could have 4 different looks (no bow & no train; train & no bow; bow & no train; bow & train), so I was able to keep the bow and detach the train for the cocktail avoiding the need for a bustle! 5.) They fixed my bow to make it a regular bow instead of a sad half bow! Additionally, Christina asked for a budget and stayed within it by doing all of this (a ton of work) for under $700.00 (most places charge $500.00 for alterations and a bustle, and this was wayyy more work). To boot, she helped me get a lot of my money back from Anomalie due to the many many ways the dress I received deviated from Anomalie's own design sketches. Finally, I purchased a back up dress just in case the dress did not turn out well--I didn't want to be stuck a month or two before the wedding with a dress I didn't like. The girl I purchased it from said her seamstress said the dress could only have a French bustle, and I don't really like the look of French bustles. I took this dress to Christina, and she was able to hem the dress and give me an American bustle (despite what the other seamstress said) for about $25! Christina also found me the perfect veil for my dress! If you need your wedding dress altered, you will not regret going to Christina at Winsome Brides!!! read more

Amazing selection of affordable off the rack dresses in all styles! I like that they let you go through the racks which was organized by price (under or over $1000). Staff was extremely nice with helping me find dresses, assisted in the fitting room and didn't rush me at all. They let me put a dress on hold for a week and I took the time to decide if it was worth the several alterations to make it how I envisioned or if I should find another dress that has sleeves, etc. I ended up finding my dress somewhere else but service was so great at Winsome that I'm thinking to return to get alterations done here! read more

Berta Brides -- look no further for alterations. Dresses by companies like Berta can be difficult to have altered due to the intricate lace/appliqué patterns among other reasons. When I began searching for someone who would be willing to alter my dress (which was a sample), many companies/independents said they didn't feel comfortable or told me they were not capable of doing what I was hoping to do to the dress. Additionally, they were incredibly expensive. I was referred to Winsome by another bridal shop, and I am so, so thankful. Not only was the work way more reasonably priced than I was expecting (almost $500 less than I was originally quoted by the only person willing to do what I wanted), the seamstress did EVERYTHING I asked without hesitation. (Just to break it down, I had the waist brought in, front of the dress hemmed up, legs/hips brought out some, an intricate American bustle with 7 holds for the long train, and additional securement placed in the back because it gaped slightly at the small of my back.) If you're a bride on a budget like me, you'll love Christina - she had helped me purchase a dress last summer at Sparrow Bridal, a store that was closing in La Mesa, and told me that she'd be opening up her own store too and I can come to her for alterations. So of course I kept an eye out for the opening of Winsome Brides, and went straight to her for getting alterations done by Gala, a seamstress that works with her (check her out at Gala's Bridal Alterations). Gala is amazing and very good at what she does. Christina and her daughter Becca were very attentive, warm, and understood my need to find something beautiful in the price range I needed. I also found out that she does wedding coordinating, too, but I'd already gone with another when I found out, otherwise I would have picked her. Christina even overheard me telling my mom I still need to take my dress to a dry cleaner and she was able to recommend one within walking distance of my apartment, and told me to drop her name and a quote, and they worked with it! I was really discouraged and the last thing I wanted to do was put dresses on in front of people, but it was something I couldn't avoid.
