I had such an amazing experience at Brides for a Cause! When researching dress shopping, I knew I needed to be on a budget and was so happy to find this place. Not only do they have dresses for cheap (mine was originally $2975 and I got it for $500), but they had actually a pretty great selection in what looked like lots of sizes. My group and I loved that we were able to shop for ourselves, but I do recommend bringing people who can really get your style and are willing to move quickly. You have one hour, and I ended up trying on 28 dresses! (I was speeding through hahahah). Honestly, though, the workers were so nice and helpful and they really made the experience great. I really enjoyed my time here. The employees were incredibly kind and welcoming. I came in on a whim with a friend, not expecting much, and was pleasantly surprised by how many dresses I genuinely loved. While some were out of my budget or would have required alterations I wasn't willing to do, I ended up finding the perfect dress--already my size, needing little to no alterations, and within my budget. We were honestly amazed. I also really appreciated that they offer to hold a dress for a short period of time (either a few hours or up to a day). When you're making a big purchase decision--especially since the dresses are final sale--it's refreshing and reassuring to see a business that encourages you not to rush. It felt honest and thoughtful, not like they were just trying to make a quick sale. The only downside was the fitting room lighting. It isn't very flattering and doesn't show well on camera, which makes it hard if you're FaceTiming family or friends for a second opinion. I'd recommend stepping toward the front of the store near the window for better lighting. As a suggestion to the store, improving the fitting room lighting would make a huge difference and would also allow customers to feel more comfortable without having to walk to the front of the shop or be visible from outside. Overall, though, it was truly a great experience, and I would absolutely recommend this store. read more

Yesterday I found three dresses I loved and settled on one which I brought home. The dress was listed as $4000 normal retail on the tag but after looking it up I found it was originally sold for $7,000! I purchased it at brides for a cause for $900! It was a sample from a previous bridal shop so it had never even been worn by a bride and is in prefect condition. The reservation system online is easy and it also lets you put in how many guests you would like to bring in (I think you can say up to 2 but can call in to see if you can squeeze in a little more). The dresses are organized by size - I was told you would want to check out dresses about 2 sizes up! Dont be shocked if you're wearing dresses not in your usual size. I got to try on dresses in various styles and price points. They also have a range of price points so definitely affordable! The staff members are lovely and help answer questions and clip the back to fit your form better. I definitely recommend this place! The most memorable experience! Truly, it felt like a dream almost like a game show. I went to David's bridal last week to get sized and find what style dress best fit me and to get that "traditional" bridal dress trying on experience. So I went to Brides for a Cause prepared! I had high hopes but didn't know what to expect. Upon arrival staff was so sweet, she walked us through the process and let us know she was available to help with any questions. I reserved my room 60 minutes and brought my mom and aunt. I highly suggest bringing two people to help you hold and carry dresses (5 at a time) from the rack to the dressing room and help zip you up. I found my dress on round two of going out to the floor!!! With taxes my dress was $538. I did some research and my find retails for $3750! Totally worth the trip from Riverside, CA. read more

If you're looking for a wedding dress in the San Diego area I would definitely recommend stopping by this place! Although I was not able to select my dress from this place they had such an abundant variety, and for such affordable and reasonable prices. I will just say keep in mind that not all dresses will be in mint condition. But you're definitely going to get the best price for some pretty amazing and beautiful dresses. I recommend reservation if you're trying to go in on the weekend, but they mentioned weekdays are pretty slow and walk-ins are more than welcome. There's only public parking which can be a challenge in this area so I would plan ahead for that, either Uber or just give yourself enough time to find some parking. read more

I was a bit disappointed in the selection of dresses. I found one that I really really liked, but there were snags and rips all over it to the point that it felt like choosing it would have been more of a hassle than me enjoying the process of making the dress my own. The dress was ticketed at 500 dollars, but was really only worth maybe 100 at most. I also did not enjoy people family members standing in front of the mirrors, with most having my more than 3 people with them it is chaotic in the dressing room and not suited for a person with anxiety. I really loved this concept but overall disappointed that the experience didn't make me feel like this was my place to say yes to the dress. read more

The idea behind this place is amazing and I love that they can make dresses affordable for brides! With that being said, I was disappointed with the selection choices. I am typically a 6, but their dresses ran small so I was looking at sizes 10 and up. Those sizes just didn't have pretty dresses. Also, like 80% of the dresses have rips, broken zippers, and stains, so if you were to fix all that I feel like the price would become similar to a brand new dress at that point... but it's definitely fun to poke around. So glad this San Diego location opened up shortly before I got engaged! Brides for a cause is such an amazing bridal boutique for people who don't think they can afford their dream wedding dress. It's a nonprofit organization that encourages donations for women focused charities. Each dress sold is for charity so you can find your beautiful gown while raising money to empower women. I've had 2 appointments here and was actually able to buy my dress on the first try. Honestly I didn't think that I'd be buying my dress so soon because I was still about a year out from my wedding date and the stock at brides for cause is so varied given dresses come used and new from different sources (past brides, bridal designers, and other bridal vendors). I wasn't having any luck until the last dress I found 10 minutes before closing! I had never considered that particular style but decided to try it on. It was more perfect than I could have ever imagined and was a steal for the designer. The one I chose happened to be a new sample that was in pristine condition but all the dresses I tried on were generally clean and looked great. My second appointment was more so for accessories and shoes but will likely check out brides for a cause again to see if there's anything for a reception dress! Unlike other bridal boutiques this one is much more casual and you can peruse through the racks yourself.
