I tried gowns from the Made With Love collection and was drawn to the concept that they were "customizable." Delaney showed me various necklines and laces from other dresses. If you're looking to drown in prosecco with your entire wedding party, skip this place and spare these women the pain. This shop is adorable. It's simple, straight forward, carries a range of designers and styles, but it definitely has a theme. Do your research and understand what they have to offer before showing up. They of course have the patience to work with you and allow you to try and retry, but they can only offer what's in the shop. After booking an appointment, you have the opportunity to favorite dresses and build a portfolio for the women to work off of when you arrive. They know EXACTLY where every dress is and are extremely efficient. The women are well educated in dresses, designers, materials, production time, alterations, and more. They are polite when working with budgets and honest in their advice and opinions. The shop is small, you'll be the only bride there which makes the experience very personal. Parking sucks! Show up 30min early, you'll need 29 of those minutes to find parking and 1min to run to the shop. I won't hold that against the shop though--it's North Park, IYKYK. read more

I had the pleasure of being taken care of by Nicole. She was warm and welcoming from the start. This was my first time dress shopping and Nicole went above and beyond my expectations which put my nerves at ease. I really did enjoy building my Lovely Bride profile before my appointment. The dresses I favorited on my profile were set on the side already by the time I arrived to the appointment instead of spending time flipping through dresses. The boutique itself is big and spacious. Very cozy and unique as well. The windows let's in a lot of natural sunlight which made it more fun to see yourself in the dresses. Covid safe protocols were in place such as masks and limited guests at the boutique. I also liked the idea of one bride and their party at a time in the boutique. I went in knowing I wanted a dress from another store, just wanted to look at a couple more spots. She was very understanding and was not pushy on anything. I'm awful because I can't remember her name but I bought my gorgeous Alyssa Kristin gown at Lovely Bride this past Sunday and my stylist was an absolute gem! You get the WHOLE SHOP to yourself and your 'support party', which is awesome. The shop is on a side street so not a ton of people pass by, but when they do be ready to strut your stuff because you are on display! My stylist was super sweet and we had a lot of fun together. She not only listened to what I wanted, but also asked if I would be comfortable with some choices that SHE thinks I would look good in. I love that she took so much interest and I ended loving a few of her choices. The whole experience was great and she even let me stay later because I needed to try on my favorite two dresses at least 5 times lol!!! This was my 2nd try on place, and I actually fell in love with my dress at my first salon, Love and Lace in Irvine. However I am so thankful I didn't buy it there and went to this appt, they had the same dress for $300 CHEAPER!!!! So amazing. My only "con" would be that they have a limited selection of dresses. The fits we're good for mid size (I'm typically and 8 with an hourglass figure), almost every dress fit me except one where my butt was too big hahaha but she put a fabric piece in the back so it worked. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Don't recommend at all if you even remotely have curves. Everything I requested to try on from The wish list they have you complete before coming wasn't even an option, I was at my appointment for 15 minutes before I just left because my stylist said LA had larger sizes and should contact them. Incredibly frustrating. They charge you $25 for an appointment and it was a waste of my time. Everything also seemed cheaply made, zippers were torn, straps barely on, and even discolored. If you state your dresses can be made for sizes up to 30, then offer larger sample sizes. I'm an 8 & nothing would fit. The stylist acted like she couldn't care less. So happy I found my dress somewhere else. read more

Updating after purchasing my dream dress here and after my wedding! I can not rave enough about my experience at Lovely Bride in San Diego! I had two appointments at this bridal dress shop and both experiences were beyond perfect. Nicole was 100000% the best bridal dress stylist I ever could have asked for! My first appointment was with my best friend when she was visiting town and I was 99% sure I had found "the one" at that point! But I wanted to show my mom in-person before purchasing so I reached out to the shop again to schedule another appointment. Due to my mom's work schedule, she was only able to visit for a few days and when I reached out to schedule an appointments for the days she would be in town, Nicole let me know that the shop would actually be closed during those days. I was absolutely devastated and 100% freaking out, but Nicole called me and CAME BACK EARLY FROM HER VACATION (I repeat, CAME BACK EARLY FROM HER VACATION) in order for me to be able to show my mom the dress in person while she was still in town!!! She said she had another bride who also needed an appointment that day (or the guilt would have really eaten me alive to cut her vacation short!), but truly - what place has that type of customer service? Needless to say, my mom loved the dress as much as I did and I knew it was 100% the one after that! I can't say enough good things about the process at Lovely Bride. I visited 4 other bridal dress shops in total and my experience at Lovely Bride was hands down my favorite. They carry a smaller selection of designers compared to some other shops, but I feel like that really makes them know those designs inside-and-out and I was already pretty certain I wanted a Made with Love dress, so it worked out perfectly! Nicole was so knowledgeable about all of the styles and she was so kind and comforting as I tried on each design. She made me feel SO comfortable throughout the entire process, and she really has the sweetest most bubbly personality ever! Also, the shop is SO cute and is my exact style haha I just absolutely loved all the pink and how it was decorated. The dress bag is adorable, and you also get treated with a cute surprise when you purchase your dress here (I won't spoil it!). Nicole just had the best energy ever and she was never pushy at all which also made my experience here stand out from some of the other shops. In general, I had a positive experience at Lovely Bride. The associate who helped me was kind, personable, and I ended up purchasing my wedding dress and veil here. I specifically came to Lovely Bride because, to my knowledge, they are the only shop in San Diego that has Made With Love dresses. However, I was SHOCKED by how dirty this bridal shop is. Dresses were gray from resting on the dirty floor, they had makeup stains across them, and other miscellaneous markings. While I acknowledge it's close to impossible to keep sample dresses pearly white, these dresses were gross, and they either need to be taken to the dry cleaners, or thrown in the trash in favor of new sample dresses. The show room was also extremely dirty. Carpets were gross, the air vent was covered in dirt and grime, and clumps of dust were scattered across the room. The bridal shop was so dirty that my mom was concerned about buying my dress from Lovely Bride. She thought that the state of the showroom was an indication that the shop could be going out of business. Again, the woman who sold me my dress was kind and helpful. And if you like Made With Love Dresses, this is the place to go in San Diego. However, I'm writing this review in the hopes that the shop owner cleans this place up to improve the wedding dress shopping experience for future customers. read more

Came here to try on dresses during Coronavirus. The bride was allowed to bring like 4 people with her. Due to COVID, we all had to wear masks and we weren't allowed to touch the dresses which was a bummer but understanding. The dresses were gorgeous!! The store inside was so cute and homey feeling. The bathroom was well kept, clean, and had great smelling soap. Our consultant was very nice and helpful. I wish they would've offered heels and accessories for the bride to try on. Parking is very difficult to find. There is minimal street parking but a parking garage down the street. read more

I don't write many reviews but I have to rave about my experience at Lovely Bride SD. First I want to thank Anne for being so helpful and supported during our appointment. My mother, grandmother, and I were their first appointment since temporarily closing due to Covid-19. They were on top of keeping everything sanitized and helped us set up Zoom for family and friends who could not be at the appointment. Anne was an amazing stylist and really listened to me. She pulled some dresses I saw online and wanted to try as well as pulling a dress she thought would fit my wedding vision. I put on the dress she pulled first and it was the dress! My mother and I were in tears of joy and I felt like a bride. I tried on ally the dresses but none had the same feeling. We had some extra time and Anne let me put the first dress on. Still had the bride feeling! We had another appointment later that day. So Anne wrote down my measurements along with the dress and matching veil. The next place we went to was a bust. That evening I email Rebekah the owner of the shop saying yes to the dress! Rebekah was also amazing with quickly answering any questions I had with sizing, ordering, and alterations. Made an appointment here on a whim because the dress I had made didn't work out and I was ready to face my anxiety of going wedding dress shopping. The shop isn't small, but isn't large either. The one thing I do wish is that the windows weren't open for people on the streets to peek in while you're trying on dresses. They can't see the actual dressing area, but any pedestrian can certainly see what you're trying on which seemed kind of weird to me. I understand wanting to show off the dresses that are available, but maybe have a separated area for privacy? The street isn't a main street, but still. I would've preferred a more intimate setting, albeit the natural lighting did help with visualizations. There aren't a TON of dresses here, but they were certainly a lot more my style. I'm not a huge fan of large, traditional, structured wedding dresses so I was really happy to see that this shop had more bohemian style dresses that were a lot lighter in weight and much easier to move around in. Most of the dresses they have were pretty fitted, so maybe not the place to look if you're looking for something with volume. I'm not super convinced that I've found the one here, but they did have some options that are still up for consideration. I'm thinking about making the drive up to LA to their Pasadena location. Pros: - Pretty dresses from unique/boho designers. Wide variety of styles to choose from. - Cute store, 1:1 attention, nice location on a quiet street in North Park. - Accessible price points. Cons: - NOT for curvy girls. Literally the sample sizes are like a size 4. I consider myself a healthy/fit person, and there were some that I was literally being sausaged in to. Had I been a taller or more curvy girl, I could see this really ruining what is suppose to be a magical experience in a girl's life. Note to owners: Get sample sizes for normal people's bodies, and then get those clip things to shrink them. - My specific sales associate experience was not amazing, as she had to cut our appointment short by 20 minutes to get to another job, but I am going to chalk this up as an outlier day. - Provide some kind of lining for the "naked dresses". They are completely sheer on top, and I was not super comfortable coming out to my mom or the world that can see me through the big windows half topless. Maybe throw some cups in the dressing room for the more modest brides? Otherwise, love the designers they carry, and do feel it is worth a trip! read more
