I live in San Luis Obispo now but grew up in San Diego, so I wanted to go through the dress search with my parents, who still live there. This was the first boutique I went to, and even though I visited two other bridal boutiques afterward to compare, neither came close. Samantha helped me from the start. She listened to what I was looking for and pulled dress after dress until we found the one, no pressure to decide quickly. It took about a month and a second visit before I said yes. She's also the one who pointed out how many possibilities there were with the dress, including adding straps, and told me the alterations team could make it happen. She always made me feel comfortable and was so easy to talk to and be honest with, which is exactly what you want when picking out your wedding dress. Mary handled my alterations. My dress was originally strapless, and she made beautiful, romantic lace straps out of the same fabric as the bodice. They were detachable, but I ended up wearing them the entire wedding. She also built cups into the dress, so I didn't have to deal with fitting adhesive inserts myself, which can be so tough to get just right. That made such a huge difference, one less thing to worry about on the day. She also went through several bustle options with me, more than once, until we landed on the right one. She helped me feel confident about my shoe choice too, and we talked through what jewelry would complement the overall look. The whole team was also really thorough with communication. Before each fitting they'd let me know what to expect, how much time it would likely take, and what to bring. That helped a lot since I had to fly back for fittings, including one trip that was 24 hours round trip (totally worth it). If I had to do it all over again, I would. Thank you to the whole White Flower team for making the experience so special and memorable. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for their perfect wedding dress!

The boutique provides a beautiful, comfortable space with refreshing non-alcoholic beverages, and the price is incredibly affordable for the high-end level of service you receive. She really listened to what I wanted and made the appointment unforgettable. I found my dress today!! I found Luv Bridal on Instagram and made my appointment a week out. I was…read morenervous that I would be pressured to get a dress. BUT ASSOCIATE ASHLEY was amazing!! She gave me great advice, helped me try on 6-8 different dresses, different styles and sizes of veils. I was not sure what type of dress that would end up looking good on me but we did it! We said yes to the dress and got a "Love at first sight" discount of 10% off. Because my wedding will be in April, she explained to me the timeline of when my dress would arrive and how long alterations would take. Ashley was so sweet, so supportive, took amazing critiques about what I loved and did not love. She was honestly the best associate to work with for me. They also offer snacks and drinks for you and your party. I have to say you do try on dresses in front of other brides too, but the changing rooms are private. Definitely wear nude underwear, no bra or wear pasties, and no heels are needed. I'd recommend wearing your hairstyle similar to your wedding day. When we arrived, the other associates did not seem as welcoming. So I am very glad I got paired with ASHLEY because she was so sweet We ended up buying both dress and veil and I felt like a bride .

TLDR: I booked a solo appointment and the girls helped me out so much, I felt very relaxed and just…read morehad fun trying on dresses, most gowns were under 1000 but some needed significant repair, unexpectedly found and bought my dress! I had gone to one other traditional boutique and felt a little rushed because I hadn't had time to browse the racks before my appointment and didn't know what kind of style I wanted. So the more laidback vibe of BFAC was appealing to me as I wanted to peruse at my leisure and I was able to try on any style dress I wanted. I booked a solo appointment so I could just try on what I wanted, but not having someone there to help with zipping up made me a little slower with the dresses. The girls were able to help with zipping and clipping when I needed it. I was able to try on 8 different dresses (of varying degrees of condition). Most dresses were priced under 1000 but I did see many that had broken zippers/ripped seams/sold as is that would need repair. I ended up going a bit over my appointment time but the girls were so gracious in giving me more time, probably because I was there alone. Also I'm normally a 4 in street size but they recommended sizing up so I was looking at dresses between 6-8 which they had significant stock of. I stumbled on an absolute GEM of a dress that was a sample by Maggie Sottero. It was the second dress I had tried and it fit like a glove, was in pristine condition, and was so beautiful. The girls were so nice in hyping me up. I felt so pretty and comfortable in the dress but I didn't have the wow moment or tears so I was actually unsure if that was "my dress" but they were able to hold it for me for 24 hours. The hold was nice but stressful for me because I wanted more time to think about it (which is the nice thing about traditional stores that have normal stocked designers where you can try on a dress and return weeks to months later and still be able to buy it, but if I didn't buy this one, there wasn't a guarantee it would be there again next time). I ended up going back the following day (no appointment needed) to try it on again and styled it in different ways to see what alterations I would want and I realized I would be devastated if I passed on it and would regret not getting it right then. When I was paying for the dress, the girls actually said they had just gotten the dress in too so if you don't find a dress initially, check back again because it seems their stock rotates frequently and you might be able to find a really good quality dress for a fraction of the cost (I ended up saving 70% of the retail cost at BFAC).

At the end of the day it was just too much to do to the dress. For my second visit, I tried on a dress that I was initially interested in but didn't have time to try on at my first visit. And... well, this is the one. I tried on a few others as well, and ultimately left thinking about that first one. Melody was so awesome for not pushing me to make a decision, I really hate that feeling. So I was grateful to her for being so patient with me- this is a big decision!! Shelley took the time to sit down with me and really get to know what I was looking for. She asked if I had a vision for my dress, and I had to laugh because, honestly, I really didn't. I wasn't one of those girls who had dreamed about her wedding dress her entire life. I truly had no idea what would look good on me, and more than anything, it was important to me that whatever I chose felt authentic and true to who I am. Shelley asked me thoughtful questions, listened to my answers, and then we went back to look at dresses. I must have looked completely overwhelmed at one point because she said, "Why don't you go ahead and have a seat? I have three dresses in mind that I'm going to bring to you, and we'll take it from there." So that's exactly what we did. I put the first dress on and thought it was very pretty. I liked it, but something just didn't quite click. I went out to show my group, and they agreed. Then I went back and put on the second dress. The moment I stepped into it, I knew. It was the one. There was only one little problem: it didn't have nearly enough sparkle for me! I definitely wanted more bling. Shelley immediately assured me that wouldn't be a problem because they have an in-house alterations team, and their alteration specialist could customize the dress exactly the way I wanted. Karla had completely transformed the dress and somehow managed to make it feel even more like me. They have beautiful dresses and then they suck you in to have alterations done here, then don't have your dress ready by your wedding date or they cut it very close. If you're going to go all the way with buying your dress and getting it altered here, LIE about your wedding date and tell them your wedding is 2-3 weeks before the actual wedding date. It's the only way to hopefully ensure you'll receive your dress back in time. Trust me. You'll thank me later.

I had shopped at a few different boutiques prior to coming to Brides of San Diego. At previous salons I felt those concerns magnify. But with Rosa I felt safe. She made my friends and I feel so incredibly special, and she just knew what would look good on me. She did a great job clamping the dress to fit me and just made me feel so good in my own skin. The dress is truly amazing, and in such a large part that's due to her. Fast forward a few months there was a hiccup in delivery, not at all the fault of Brides of SD, but I was so anxious. Lonnie, the owner, saved the day. Lonnie made sure I got my dress and on time. Special shout out to Mya who called with updates at every turn and honestly just made me feel so calm and safe. I feel grateful she was there and I hope she has the wedding of her DREAMS cuz she's also getting married soon and boy does she deserve it to be perfect. Ok but DONT GET ME STARTED on Lily the seamstress. That woman is a magician. My dress fits like a glove, my boobs look amazing, that's ALL LILY! She did such meticulous work so fast - she's truly amazing. All this to say, the road to my dress had a significant bump, but Brides of San Diego came through for me, and my dress is next level perfect. I was last minute on getting my veil, but I knew it was easily one of the most important things to me for my wedding day. I reached out to Kat of Veiled Beauty, and did not have to reach out to anyone else. She was great, quick to respond, so very helpful and had an adorable space. She worked with me to create a beautiful floor length veil out of the most delicate soft English tulle and I could not have been more in love with it. I felt very comfortable working through several options and ideas with her. She was very patient with me while I was deciding. I searched everywhere for a veil that was perfect for my dress and I could not find what I was looking for anywhere and everything I did find was ordinary looking and way overpriced. But then I met Kat and she absolutely BLEW ME AWAY! I described to her what I wanted in a veil (something I couldn't find anywhere) and she handmade it for me and it was better than I could have imagined! I absolutely loved every appointment with Kat! She was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly professional throughout the entire alterations process. I really appreciated that she scheduled multiple fittings to ensure every detail was perfect - it showed how much care and precision she puts into her work. Veiled Beauty are miracle workers! My made to order wedding dress arrived not made to my measurements (a size L when it should have been a S). It was made in Australia so with it arriving 6 weeks before my wedding, needless to say I was in a panic. Veiled Beauty was recommended to me by Grace Loves Lace where I bought my dress. I bought my dress on a great deal at a trunk sale at The Dress Theory. Unfortunately, it was about 14 sizes too big for me and I had been turned away from other alteration shops because the job was too difficult... not for Kat! Not only was she not intimated by the dress, she was excited for the challenge!! She put all alterations on hold when the pandemic hit and my initial wedding date was cancelled and we picked up right where we left off when it was time for "take two". She began by having the dress cleaned and brought back to its original color, then stripped it down to the base fabric and rebuilt it from there. We discovered it was just slightly too short, so she offered creative suggestions for how to work with it. She was patient with me at every appointment as we discovered what would work with the realities of the dress while still honoring my new vision. She added multiple layers, boning, and the perfect basque waist, and now it fits me beautifully. It is also surprisingly comfortable. What started as a 79-year-old vintage family heirloom became a bespoke couture wedding gown that feels like it came from a high-end boutique. She's actually worked on my specific dress a number of times so was comfortable with her being familiar with how my dress is structured. We started with a consultation and she gave the pricing for each portion of my dress in that appointment that needed to be altered. I had my dress hemmed, straps andjusted and made attachable/detachable. She also recommended a place to get the bust of my dress expanded so that it would be more comfortable for me. She gave her recommendations and gave me tips to make sure my dress was pressed for the day of the wedding. Thank you so much to Bridgette for her work. I thought her pricing was reasonable and her customer experience was really good and professional. Parking l parking in that street can be a bit tough but I was able to get parking on the street.

The dresses are stunning but beyond that it was the help of Melissa and April that made my entire experience not only seamless but very enjoyable. Melissa helped me find the right dress for me. Made me feel like a true princess but in the most genuine way (I can't tell you how many fake interactions I had prior with other shops). Melissa went above and beyond to answer my questions, send me pictures of items I requested so that I could match accessories and kept me in the loop for tracking of the dress from Spain. Then I had the pleasure of meeting April to complete my alterations. She is a master at what she does and put my mind at ease in altering my dress. I'm one of those "need to know what the two options would feel like" (cups sewn in). April didn't pause for a second but simply said "I can take those ones out and put in the others and you let me know what feels best". Her shop wasn't difficult to find and there was plenty of parking in front. On my first appointment, I wore my dress for her and she asked what I had envisioned. She also had a helper, measure and record everything. She had hemmed the length of my dress, created a bustle in the style I wanted, and also added long sleeves to my dress. We took our measurements, sent her inspiring photos, and paid for half of my bill. On our second appointment, she had me wear the dress and walk around to checked the length. She taught my maid of honor how to attach the bustle and how to help fluff the dress. She asked my maid of honor to record her, so on my wedding day, she can refer to the video. Olga's pricing is very reasonable and sensible. She is fully communicative with the entire process and timely! She ensures the safety of your dress, too. This place was absolutely amazing and very welcoming in terms of making me feel comfortable. My first appointment was very easy, I brought my shoes that I knew I was gonna wear so that they can get the length right and then just a short three weeks. I went to my second appointment and tried it on and it fit like it was made for me. I am 5'3 so overall finding things that are the right length is pretty hard. As soon as I put the dress on the length was even better than I thought it could be! She added on the bus and even had me recorded so I could have my maid of honor follow the instructions which helped a lot. I am absolutely in love with this dress and so happy that I chose this place for my alterations!!!!
