I came to her with very little knowledge about the process or what was even possible with the gown. She helped me create a vision, gave me thoughtful structural advice and options, and guided me toward decisions that ultimately led to the wedding gown of my dreams. She began by having the dress cleaned and brought back to its original color, then stripped it down to the base fabric and rebuilt it from there. We discovered it was just slightly too short, so she offered creative suggestions for how to work with it. She was patient with me at every appointment as we discovered what would work with the realities of the dress while still honoring my new vision. She added multiple layers, boning, and the perfect basque waist, and now it fits me beautifully. It is also surprisingly comfortable. What started as a 79-year-old vintage family heirloom became a bespoke couture wedding gown that feels like it came from a high-end boutique. I am forever grateful for Bridgette's patience, creativity, and expertise and would recommend her to any family, friend or loved one looking for a personalized, uplifting experience! There are a couple of reasons why I'm only giving one star, but I would like to begin by saying my consultant, Brittany, was really good. She did a great job of trying to juggle two simultaneous appointments because her coworker was out sick. She was nice and helpful and I appreciate all her help. That being said, our appointment took almost two hours and I only tried on 4 dresses. Other appointments I had at other boutiques were 30-45 minutes because I just tended to go fast and don't like to stand around in front of a mirror for long periods of time. But they were understaffed that day and Brittany had to stop helping me to go help another bride and I would stand there on the pedestal for 15-20 minutes in a dress I knew wasn't a contender. The dressing rooms are tiny!! The size of a bathroom stall, and if you're wanting to try on ballgowns, good luck. We ended up rushing out of there so we could make another appointment that we had afterward. The dresses in general were pretty cheap (all under $2000, some even around $500), which is great, but they definitely looked cheap, too. Especially comparing a $1500 dress from David's to a $1500 dress from White Flower Bridal, there is no comparison in quality. All of the dresses I saw at David's Bridal looked hastily put together and made out of cheap material with designs that were nothing too special. Brittany's service, though, is the reason I never wrote a review (as it has been months since I've gone in). But now I decided to because David's Bridal gave all of my contact information out to other businesses. In order to secure an appointment, I had to give my phone number and email address and everything---standard procedure, I understand. But now I'm getting calls/texts/emails from The Pros Photography because they have a package deal with David's. They even set up a website with my name and wedding date. I'm a private person and this MAJORLY creeped me out. I understand that it isn't illegal for businesses to share this information, but it's rude. I never signed anything with DB. All I went in for was a disappointing, unsatisfactory appointment. My phone number and email address are displayed online now and I am being overwhelmed with spam about securing my DJ, photographer, and videographer. All things I have already had booked for months. Not once was I informed that my personal information might be leaked. I never even thought that the company would think of doing that without permission. I had requested NOT to subscribe to DB updates and advertisements, so I don't know what made them think I would be okay with receiving information from companies I've never heard of and never had an interest in. Very unprofessional, in my opinion. Don't waste your time on these cheap-looking, non-unique dresses, and poor company management. Try White Flower, D'Angelo, or Dress Theory instead. I had been considering still shopping there for bridesmaids dresses, since it looked like they had a good selection of those. But now I will just go elsewhere. read more

The review I leave for Maddy and Avalon won't do them justice. I had a very particular image in mind of what I wanted and wanted to get that image across to them. They listened to me and helped me pick out five dresses. The first dress was cute... But, you guys, the second dress. I didn't know I was going to cry. Like, I'm cute, but I don't cry over clothes. When I put on that dress... I looked like a real princess. I looked like a bride. My friends cried. My family cried. I cried a lot. Even Maddy cried. And when I tried *the* dress on, my friend said "its 11:11 make a wish!!" ...I tried on the other dresses, but none compared. I tried on three more dresses before I tried on dress #2 again and decided it was the one. I put on a circlet and a veil and petticoat. It was over the top. It was perfect. It was better than I'd ever imagined. I didn't ever imagine that I'd be so moved. Maddy brought me a bell and told me to make two wishes; one for my wedding day, and one for my marriage... and once I cast the wish, to ring the bell (still crying).. I rang the crap out of that bell and felt so blessed. This day was perfect. Down to the 11:11 minute. Down to the dollar. Down to the freakin' phase of the moon. I ended up canceling my other dress appointments at other bridal shops. Maddy, thank you so so much. I don't have words to tell you how much your special contribution means to me, and I'm even sure I'll remember you and the wishes I made on my special day. Thank you so much. read more

My bridesmaids dress was a custom order that took a long time to come in. When it arrived I realized the dress was damaged on both shoulders! The wedding was only a month away and I still needed major alterations on top of the damage to be fixed. I was so worried it was going to cost me more than the dress itself to fix and rush alter. Thankfully I had Hailee at the La Mesa, San Diego Davids Bridal answer when I called panicked. She assured me everything would be okay and to come in so we can view our options. When I came in we tried to find the same dress style/color at another store that might be available to swap out in time. It was nowhere! Not even available to re-order! And neither was the one other style the bride liked. Hailee did an amazing job of contacting corporate to get approval to have a rushed replacement made. She's a life saver! I was overjoyed to get the approval and my dress even came in sooner than they predicted! I'm so relieved. Her customer service was on point as well as her problem solving. Thank you Hailee for saving the day! read more

I had the most amazing experience today. KATHY was my stylist and I couldn't have asked for better. She showed me a great selection of dresses that perfectly fit my style. I actually feared up by how beautiful I looked in one of the dresses she picked out for me. I felt like she really knew my style and was a good fit for my personality. She was excited about all the dresses I tried in and even helped me by taking some really awesome pictures to send my mom since she couldn't be with me. She made me so comfortable for my first experience wedding dress shopping. If you go to David's Bridal in La Mesa ask for KATHY. I also have to mention how wonderful LADONNA was. She was sweet and very helpful when explaining how financing works. Even the nice lady who does alterations came out and was able to answer all of my questions. I'm sorry that I cannot remember her name but she and everyone there were absolutely lovely. I'm still floating on air over my perfect wedding dress shopping experience. read more

At first I was extremely hesitant to even walk in the store for my appointment only because of the horror stories about just David's Bridal in general. But i was seen on time by someone who took my information down. Later I was met with my consultant Courtney and she was an absolute doll. I came into the store knowing what I wanted and unfortunately David's Bridal did not have what I wanted but she went above and beyond and tried to look for exactly the styles I was looking for. She didn't find my dress but only because the type of dream dress I was looking for was not at that store as well as their dresses were not my style. I still appreciate my consultant for being extremely patient and looking for what I want but it was not as bad as everyone makes it seem like it is. My consultant was amazing and I advise everyone to go to her. Make sure to go on a weekday through because the consultants will take extra time to take care of you whereas weekends it's hectic and you will be mad. read more

I was helped by both Martina and the Service Supervisor Shandiin and Wow I can't thank them enough! I was first greeted by a very nice lady at the front who directed me to dresses in my price range and informed me that Martina would be over there to help me in just a few seconds. I just barely made it over to the section and was greeted by her and her supervisor with smiling faces! I told them what I was looking for on such a very short notice and in my size. Martina pulled some dresses they both were very attentive helping me put on dresses. Martina also was helping another bride but managed to be in two places at once! They didn't have the dress I wanted in a smaller size so the supervisor found another store and informed me they were going to call the next day to over night ship it to there store so id have it on time. Weddings are stressful. Everyone knows this, the months of planning and organizing, and the money that is involved really takes a tole on you. This is especially true when last minute your sister decides to change the theme of her wedding. Luckily we came to this location and luckily we met with Shelli. She managed to make us feel completely comfortable during this high stress situation and had some amazing input on both the wedding dress and the bridesmaids dresses. She even picked out the dress that became my sister's wedding dress! She took the time to put us in heels, try out different accessories and even let my sister try on a tiara and veil. We felt like we had our own little wedding planner, our anchor in the storm. I understand that several businesses have suffered from COVID, but it's just bad business to not allow returns or even store credit for gowns purchased for wedding that couldn't happen. A 7 day return policy was their answer?! Then they had the audacity to recommend selling to a resale store. This is not a tiny private business. David's is a well known ESTABLISHED company. And to do their customers like this is just selfish. Brides everywhere already lost their special day. No sympathy from David's at all. Hundreds and thousands of dollars spent on just 1 wedding party is thrown down the drain. To save their bottom line? I know losing my business and my families will not bother them, but maybe just word of mouth will prevent others from handing their money over to greedy companies like this. My fiancée's is rather shy at the most inopportune moments and her English is rather broken, I'm honestly not sure how we make it work sometimes. She came in rather torn on even getting a dress of our wedding Stateside, and wanted to spend as little as possible and get everything she wanted in a dress. Michelle at the Grossmont location has the patience of a saint. Through it all she went over different styles with my fiancée, across different price points, and had her try on a few different dresses. Michelle helped her settle on a moderately priced wedding dress, as well as a more formal gown, my fiancée lacks any formal wear. Stitching work was messy, no fabric was actually cut, just *unevenly* folded over and sewed over the folds she made, which were very visible when the dress was worn. Zipper was somehow broken and the stitching that was holding it was coming undone. The dress also has a la Veneto bodice but it completely lost its shape. The dress did not complement my body at all anymore and somehow made a sleek dress look like a nightgown. Overall the stitching looked as if it was all made in a hurry, with no thought put into it. My dress has floating beadwork and I really want to stress the fact that they thought it was okay to fold over the fabric and sew over that, and call it a day. To my understanding, you're supposed to take out the old stitching, take the beads out by hand, cut/adjust the fabric, and then hand sew the beads back on. The seamstress did none of that. Not to mention she wanted us to come back another day, after delaying the pickup for 3 days already. She then said she would get it done that same afternoon so we could "go away already". It seems like they specialize more in quinceañeras, so I am not sure about the quality of work for those types of dresses, if that's what they specialize in then I hope other people have had a better experience than me. But I do not recommend this place specifically for wedding dress alterations, I had to pay way more to get my dress fixed.

It is close to our home and we love the new editions that they have brought to the neighborhood. I have known about this dress shop cause when I was a young girl, I once shopped there with my mother. It was like going down memory lane as we viewed dress shops nearby. Once we walked into Cynderella, we were greeted by a nice young man who knew exactly what we were looking for! Not only were we seen immediately, we were able to book an appt to begin her next chapter. Our daughter found a dress she liked but, knew it would be great in the color she was imagining herself in. When she arrived for her appointment, she tried on maybe 3 dresses. The one she had been looking at was the next dress. As she tried it on, we were reassured that she can get the dress in the color she wanted and she would be the decision maker in all changes to the dress. This made her so happy cause she is preparing to become a fashion designer for college! We said yes to the dress, placed our order and when the dress arrived for final fitting, it was nothing less than PERFECT! Thank you to the team at Cynderella for hearing us, helping us, and delivering with such amazing customer service!! I will add photos of her dress after her quinceanera so it doesn't ruin the surprise for her upcoming quince in August. Thank you again!!! Racheal

We had an appointment here at 11 am on a sunday and the store wasn't open until 12. The staff members told us that our order was delayed and the alterations for dresses are a week before the event. We were telling the staff we are not doing alterations here and it was not communicated if our dresses were getting delayed or alterations a week before the eve. The staff members are extremely rude and take the longest time ever to help you (one member named Maddie). We will not be coming back to this store for this poor quality customer service.

She gave me great advice, helped me try on 6-8 different dresses, different styles and sizes of veils. I was not sure what type of dress that would end up looking good on me but we did it! We said yes to the dress and got a "Love at first sight" discount of 10% off. Because my wedding will be in April, she explained to me the timeline of when my dress would arrive and how long alterations would take. Ashley was so sweet, so supportive, took amazing critiques about what I loved and did not love. She was honestly the best associate to work with for me. They also offer snacks and drinks for you and your party. I have to say you do try on dresses in front of other brides too, but the changing rooms are private. Definitely wear nude underwear, no bra or wear pasties, and no heels are needed. I'd recommend wearing your hairstyle similar to your wedding day. When we arrived, the other associates did not seem as welcoming. So I am very glad I got paired with ASHLEY because she was so sweet We ended up buying both dress and veil and I felt like a bride .

In order to get 20% off as part of their promo, I had to spend a certain amount, so I decided to buy the dress + alterations package. The alterations were through a separate company, Magic Touch Cleaners priced at $499 I booked my appointment but a few hours later the manager from Magic called me back and notified me that Coco Melody has not paid them for the past few months and as a result they would be terminating business with them. Even worse, when they tried to claim their money, Coco claimed they are out of business and are refusing to take further phone calls from them. I immediately filed a claim with my bank to dispute this shady behavior. I'm extremely disappointed.
