Had a great experience at this location. I did not have an appointment at all and it was still easy to find my dress. My dress I found for my mom's wedding was on clearance and had a few snags in it (which is expected) and the alteration department was able to fix it then and there. Megan helped me so much. Thank you Megan! read more

First things first shout out to Candis! She helped me out from day one. Our first fitting was the longest, I went with my best friend. We didn't realize how much thought is put into trying a dress, and making sure the style worked for all the ladies. Candis was there from start to finish. Sydney helped out one of my other bridesmaids who is a little bit taller than the rest of us. She added a few inches to the dress, and put a rush on the order so it will come before the wedding. Fast forward to a month and half before the wedding my dress is delayed at Bride and Veil. They didn't know when it was coming. So I went into David's Bridal for a plan B dress. I was seen immediately and was treated with excellent service even though I wasn't sure of my dress status at Bride and Veil. Candis again saved the day and I found a dress very similar to my dress at B&V. Not to mention it was $1200 cheaper and could have been in the store within four weeks. My dress at B&V took four months! I am so happy I went with them for my bridesmaids dresses. I could not imagine handling what I encountered at B&V with 5 ladies dress's being delayed. Pictures of the dresses will be coming soon!!! Thanks Candis and Sydney for all of your help. read more

I purchased my wedding dress here this last May for my upcoming November wedding! I was able to describe what I wanted and fell in love with the 5th dress I tried on! It fit like a dream, had some much detail and beauty and most importantly- I felt like a bride as soon as I saw myself in it! The team was so helpful in getting me my dress (on a busy sale weekend nonetheless), making no sure I had or knew which undergarments to buy and even got personal and emotional as I happily rang the bell to choose my dream dress! But it didn't stop there- Ursala is FABULOUS! You should make sure she does your alterations! There where a few minor but complicated changes that o wanted to make to my dress like the neckline and the sleeves not to mention taking it in and helming it up. She was so patient, looked at Pinterest pictures with me and walked me through my options with such kindness! Her work has been incredible and my dream dress gets better with every follow up appointment! It can be crazy how expensive and challenging the wedding industry is to navigate- but Ursala and the team here made it very enjoyable!! I cannot wait to marry my man in this gorgeous gown! read more

I found the perfect dress!!! All thanks to Ayda! She was soo helpful and the sweetest person ever!! Wonderful experience!!! Customer service is definitely 5/5 stars! read more

I had a great experience here today. I was looking for a dress to go to a military ball and wasn't looking forward to the process of dress shopping considering I waited until the last minute. Everyone that I encountered at the store was very welcoming. I had the pleasure of working with Candis. She greeted me got my measurements and asked what look I was going for. She helped me pick out some dresses and even snuck one into my fitting room to see if I would like it which happened to be the one that I left with. She was very helpful and gave me her undivided attention the whole time. I literally found a dress in about 30 mins thanks to her. I was very pleased with my visit to this store all thanks to Candis! read more

Overall, I had a good experience during my first bridal appointment. My consultant was Xotchil and she was very pleasant and I was very comfortable around her. She is bilingual (English and Spanish) which was a plus because both my mom and future mother-in-law were able to communicate well with her. I was looking for a modest dress with sleeves, a covered back and a high neckline. Xotchil did her absolute best but unfortunately every single dress had an aspect that did not meet that criteria. I do have to point out that I was able to figure out the silhouette that best flattered my body. I am giving 4 stars because experience and service was good but minus 1 because they did not have many modest options. read more

Brittany is awesome! I went to the Grossmont location for the first time in November and she was extremely helpful. Unfortunately, I didn't decide on a dress that time because I had already purchased one. A month later, I realized the dress I purchased was not my favorite. So I went back to see Brittany. She spent over an hour with me trying to narrow down my selection. Finally, I rang the bell and said YESSSS to the dress. She's a great stylist. I would highly recommend her. There's definitely a difference between Grossmont location and mission valley. Mission valley was not as helpful and attentive. read more

I cannot begin to express my gratitude to this wonderful group of women I came in alone for the final fitting after a rush alterations they got done in about a week in time for my last min wedding I lost weight so it was a lot of work on a lace dress and it's perfection was an amazing experience read more

My sister and I are bridesmaids in our friends wedding in November. We went with her to try on the dresses she picked for us, they were really cute and we asked how much the dresses were and she said they are on sale for $129, but because the bride bought her dress there, we would get additional off and the total would be $119. I remember thinking, wow, that's a great price for this dress. The assistant asked if we would like to buy them that day or another time. I asked her if we had to buy them that day to get the $119 price, she said no, that she would put it in the computer with our sizes and when we came back to purchase them it would be the same price. Fast forward to today, my sister and I went back and the same associate told us that the price of the dresses would be $129. I told her last time we were quoted $119 and she simply said, "well the other girls paid $129" I don't care what the other girls paid, I asked her a question last time I was there and she either messed up or lied. Either way I don't care, but make it right. She did not apologize for any misunderstanding and did not offer to just give us the dresses at the original price. I realize it's only $10, but the customer service was just terrible. This is not the only bad experience I have had with them, please save yourself the frustration, enjoy your wedding experience and go somewhere else!!!!! read more

David's Bridal is typically not known for good customer service - think snippy, annoyed consultants who are probably overworked. BUT, here at Grossmont, AYDA was totally the opposite! I came in as a walk-in, and even though she would have been justified at being annoyed at the surprise appointment, she treated me so well, giving me great attention, helping me find shoes to try on with the dress and giving me great explanations of the different styles. The result? I FINALLY chose a dress, and dresses for my bridesmaids too! (She helped my bridesmaid try on things with me until we found the right style). AYDA earned the 5 star review for this DB - make sure you make your appointment with her if you go! read more

This review is based on my experience with Sarah. After shopping at a place in Northern California, I came down to San Diego for a family event and to shop with my mother. We struck out at a nearby dress shop and decided to try David's Bridal. I called at 5:30, got an appointment for 7:30, and was actually seen at 7:15! We had arrived early to this somewhat late appointment on a weekday, and the store was practically empty. Sarah was very kind, took all of my wants into consideration (straps, lace type, etc.) and pulled three dresses to start (I hear three dresses to start is David's Bridal policy). I absolutely loved my first dress but ended up in my fourth. Sarah was very patient as I retried on the first and fourth dresses, and she seemed genuinely enthusiastic about my selection! Even though my dress was the least expensive option, on clearance! It was a very low pressure experience, except a little pressure about the wedding dress preservation kit. Friends reported that the preservation kits are pushed hard at David's, Alfred Angelo, and other similar chain stores, so that seems typical. Overall, despite horror stories about other locations from friends, a surprisingly good experience at this location with this consultant! read more

I came in here looking for both a wedding gown and bridesmaids dresses. I came in with two bridesmaids and my mother in law, and as we had an appointment booked, were assisted right away. The associate that was helping me was great - she brought me a few dresses (though they were completely opposite of the style that I requested) when I finally did decide to try on one, she walked into the fitting room with me helped me put it on and zip me up and all of that. The dress was nice, but not what I wanted. I noticed that the wedding dress styles at David's Bridal are vey simple and traditional. I wanted a ruffled skirt and a top with lots of sequins and beads. The boldest and closest to that request was the one that I tried on - lace top and big waved skirt. Pretty dress but like I said, that was supposed to be the flashiest and boldest. So I went somewhere else for my wedding dress. I went back another time to shop for my bridesmaids dresses, and again we received great assistance. The associate listened to exactly the style that I wanted, and it did not take us long to find a beautiful dress that we all agreed on. When we put it in an order, the associate was gracious enough to allow me to ship the dresses to all my bridesmaids (as the rest all live in different cities and hours apart) directly to their homes without addition charge. So far we have received 3 of the 5 dresses. The other two are supposed to take a few months longer than the others. Overall good experience. read more

Ayda was such a great help! So friendly and fun. I had such an amazing time picking out dresses and found the one! I am so excited! Thank you so much Ayda, you are awesome! You made my day trying dresses really special, thank you so much. You're great. read more

I honestly had the best time here and I found THE ONE!! Their staff was extremely friendly! My consultant's name was Ashley. She listened to what I was looking for in a dress and found styles that were similar to what I wanted. One particular dress I tried on was a mermaid fit lace dress with a belt attached. I loved it! The train was magnificent and was the highlight of the dress. BUT, she convinced me to try on a ball gown dress. I didn't even consider looking at ball gowns. For fun I tried one on, and fell in love! The reactions I got from my sisters were what I wanted. Other customers and staff members gave compliments on the dress as well. You know it's THE ONE when you get emotional and start tearing up. Thank you, Ashley, for helping me find the dress! read more

All the staff on Sunday afternoon at David's Bridal Grossmont, were awesome!!! I'm really sorry I can't remember the stylist who helped us but she was so awesome, patient and helpful! The manager was great! My mom had a great experience here! And got the ONE! We went to Mission Valley location ...and ugh! I understand they were busy but doesn't mean they need to be rude! They discouraged my mom, & she almost gave up on David's. Avoid mission valley and definitely go to Grossmont team! We didn't even have an appt this time around (this was our 2nd visit) but they still gladly welcomed us and had someone helping us in minutes. The whole team was attentive and friendly. Thank u all again for helping my mom find her dress! read more

Came in for my appointment and still had to share my sales rep. Um, okay. Didn't end up buying anything because the quality of the dresses and the selection were subpar. Two stars because the girl that assisted was really nice. It's not her fault she got double-booked. read more

This location was my first stop on my wedding dress search. Both times I was here I worked with Taylor. Let me tell you...She's fantastic! Squeezing a plus size bride into several corset dresses is not an easy (nor fun, I imagine) task. It had the potential to be an incredibly awkward situation, but Taylor talked to me the entire time. She asked me questions and offered suggestions, all while either lacing the dress, or helping me find my way through the thousand layers of tulle. Both dresses she chose for me were absolutely stunning. In fact, her final suggestion is the one I ended up purchasing at a different location. Thank you so much, Taylor for a wonderful experience and your great taste! read more

I dont think I was the ideal bride. I did my research before coming in, knew that there was a certain dress I wanted to try on. I made my appointment based on the fact that the dress was only available at the La Mesa location. I went in and asked for the dress. Chelly who helped me was able to find it for me. although I did try on other dresses, I left with the dress I asked for. It's both modern and traditional. I'll be back for my alternations on my dress. In love with my dress and I can't wait to see my guys expression with me in it. read more

Candis was amazing! She definitely understood the look I was going for and helped me say yes to my dress :)

I purchased and had my dress altered here at this location; I would highly recommend this establishment to any and all. Always have had excellent service and assistance from all associates. Eleanor did my alterations and is really amazing at what she does and I would say she went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable in every way possible. She even recommended certain alterations I didn't even know were possible and was I very satisfied with pricing on these extras. Very friendly and also very efficient. So beyond satisfied with the service I have received, and can speak for my family as well. We've now purchased three dresses for this event and will be sure to be back. read more

My experience at David's Bridal in Grossmont CeNter, La Mesa, CA was incredibly dismal. I booked an appointment 2 weeks prior and when I showed up, they had one consultant helping 2 other brides...then I showed up (for my scheduled appointment) with some of my bridal party who took time off work to be there. They assured me I would have 90 minutes of time, but what they didn't say was that my time was supposed to be shared with 2 other brides. I tried on 3 dresses and waited for about 15 minutes to try on the 4th. The consultant was nowhere t be found and so I undressed, packed up and left. The bridal suites are small without mirrors that require you to model your dress out in the open without looking at it yourself. When we left about 30-45 mins into our appointment, they bid us farewell and then realized what was happening. They apologized, but not sincerely and instead said "oh, sorry. Have a nice day" instead of doing everything they could to make it right. I am a laid back person, not high maintenance at all and this was my first experience trying on dresses. I was not impressed AT ALL. Instead, I left with a bitter taste in my mouth about the company and store itself. I did not feel valued, appreciated or respected at all. I received a phone call 4 hours later from the consultant who apologized about "the miscommunication" and wanted me to come back in. She said "I didn't realize you all took time off work..." all I kept thinking was, regardless of whether we took time off or not, you should never treat people like that. In conclusion, I would NOT recommend this David's Bridal location and when you make your appointment, you may want to call ahead of time to ensure you have their undivided attention. Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere and found a remarkable dress at Prevue in Grossmont Center where I immediately was welcomed and treated with respect...no appointment necessary. read more

OMG. I was dreading this part for multiple reasons, different shapes, sizes, opinions but it ALL worked out. I did my homework and reviewed the DB website before my appt and selected my favorites for the girls to try on which the rep pulled first. She answered all the girls questions, gave suggestions, pulled more dresses', she asked them what they didn't like what they did. She checked each dress to make sure that it would come in time and can be ordered in the color I selected. She kept asking me what I wanted and made sure that they looked great together. I have 5 girls, each choose a different dress, same color but each one had a similar characteristic that made it go together. It all wouldn't have been possible without the very attentive, knowledgeable, helpful, went above and beyond EMMA. I thank you EMMA for making this experience so stress free I only wish you were a seamstress so I can keep going to you. Thank you again EMMA!!! read more

I am very happy with my experience here! I am newly engaged and have never done anything like this before so I didn't know what to expect. I made an appointment  and was met by smiling faces when I arrived. Both of the lovely ladies who help me were wonderful. Joy was our stylist and she was very helpful and kind. I was very nervous about how I might look in a gown, but after taking measurements and asking about what styles I might like, Joy helped me pick out some really great choices. The other woman in the store (I'm sorry I don't remember her name :0 ) gave wonderful feed back and grabbed a belt and veil when I found a dress I really liked. It tried the whole look together and I really felt like a bride. One of my favorite things about my experience was that they asked me questions about my partner and were such a great listeners. It was a nice personal touch and I really felt like they cared about my experience. I would definitely highly recommend! read more

I have had great experiences with this Davids Bridal. I just found out the other day that my primary color for my wedding is being phased out: Oasis. I did a mad dash to this local DB and was able to find everything I needed either in stock or able to be ordered. The staff sometimes disappears, but in my opinion, I'd rather them go on and help someone else while I think about what it is that I'm looking for. The manager came back a few times and checked on me to make sure I had everything I needed. It's sad to see other people haven't had as good of experiences. read more

I was not thrilled with my experience here. My appointment was at 6 pm and I don't think the consultant started helping me until 6:30. She was nice enough, but not super helpful. One "soft white" dress needed a sash, and they had no soft white sashes, only ivory. It was a joke, they were trying to convince me that it looked good but it so obviously didn't match. I also felt very pressured, especially by the manager, to buy that day. One dress I liked was on sale for $299, and when I asked how long it would be on sale I was told the sale had actually ended yesterday but they would still honor the price. I was not ready to make any kind of decision after trying like 6 dresses on, so I went home (declining their pushiness to set up a return appointment). I checked online, and that dress remained on sale for at least 3 more days. Overall I felt rushed and very pressured here. I tried on some pretty and affordable dresses, but ultimately had a MUCH better experience and found my dream dress at 2000 dreams. Check it out. read more

I'm so pleased to have gone here! All of the staff were so friendly & helpful. I ended up having to get a bridesmaid dress at the same time on very short notice and the alterations department was just as helpful & accommodating. Nobody was pushy or made me feel uncomfortable or rushed. Thanks so much so making my day special!! :) :) read more

I walked in with an appointment I made online the previous night. Was greeted politely and shown some dresses I said I liked. They didn't have as large as a variety as the do online, but that's understandable. I ordered a dress I thought loved then 20 minutes later went back and changed my order to a different dress that was a little more. Didn't have a problem. I would say the only reason I give them 4 stars is that they really only had 2 consultant on the floor while I was there and she was working with several groups. When another came in she just seemed like she had an attitude, luckily I didn't have to deal with that one. But overall it was nice and relaxing, the business itself should just maybe add more consultants so that the client doesn't feel like they are annoying the consultant. read more
