All I can say is ask for Brigida. I recently got engaged and was in town from LA for the weekend. We just happened to pop in to see what David's Bridal is all about. First off, I have to say that I was a bit apprehensive. I'm usually a one of a kind, vintage kind of gal, but I saw a few I liked in a magazine...We didn't know that you had to have an appointment to try on dresses, but luckily they had one open in half an hour. We didn't mind waiting because it gave us plenty of time to look around. Once it was our time, Brigida came over to start accessing what my thoughts and visions were while she tried to get a sense of my style an what I was looking for. Throughout the entire experience, she made great recommendations and listened to my feelings about what I liked and didn't like. I've worked in the service industry from restaurants to retail for more years than I would like to admit. I can tell you that, Brigida's love of all things wedding, her wonderful and pleasant demeanor, and exceptional service make her my go to for David's Bridal. If you're in the area, please go and make sure you ask for Brigida. I live in the LA area and will specifically be calling La Mesa so I can work with her. read more

I called the store this morning and told them that I wanted to come in and try on petticoats with my dress to see how they look. I asked if they had them in the store and she said yes, come on in. So I did. When I arrived I was asked if I had purchased my dress from them. I did not. They wouldn't let me put my dress on in their store to try on the petticoat! So basically, if I didn't buy my dress from them, they didn't want my business. How ridiculous is that?!?! They essentially punished me and themselves because I didn't want to over pay for a dress I don't like, that half the brides in the country are wearing... I found a dress I love, online, for under $200.. It is far more beautiful than anything in their store, unique, and not over priced--- i still need accessories though, people! I did find a bridal shop right down the road from them. I wound up paying more for the petticoat than I would have at David's Bridal, but the wonderful customer service I got when I walked into their jam packed store was worth the extra money. read more

Abysmal experience. If I could rate the attendant separately I would give her 5 stars for grace under pressure and extreme patience. She was overbooked toggling her time between 5 or 6 different appointments. I am in my 40s, not my 20s. THIS STORE DOES NOT ADDRESS THIS AGE GROUP. IF YOU ARE OVER 40 DON'T EVEN GO HERE. I am looking for something basic, tailored, not something that is going to make me look like a mushroomed out tinker bell. I found the experience frustrating and plain old demoralizing. I am in good shape trim look good for my age but this store is not for my demogrsphic!! read more

Wow. Well I came into David's Bridal today with absolutely no expectations and left glowing and so excited because I found my dress!! I have a very tight budget for my wedding and dress, and I was a little pessimistic that I would be able to find a dress that I loved without paying more than I wanted to. From the moment I walked through the door this afternoon, I knew that I was in good hands. The store manager LaDonna immediately made me feel welcome, all the ladies in the store were super nice, and my consultant Ashley was amazing!! She really listened to all of the specific details attached to my dress search, including my plans to wear the same dress to a winter courthouse ceremony this year and a summer wedding/reception in 2016. She didn't seem to mind that I was working on a lower budget, and she never once pressured me to try for anything outside of what I wanted. She made great suggestions for dresses that weren't on my list, and really helped me figure out what dresses to rule out when I had a dress I LOVED, a dress I also kinda loved, and another dress that was really pretty too.... Anyways, once I left behind my disbelief and realized that I had really found THE dress in two short hours, Marina (at my request) graciously helped take a picture and text it to me because my phone was too low on battery to take one. :) I was able to send the pic to my family tonight, they all love it, and I'm ordering the dress tomorrow in my size! Thanks DB La Mesa, y'all know good customer service!! If you're considering David's Bridal in San Diego, just save yourself the hassle of the other locations (based on the Yelp reviews that I've seen) and go to La Mesa. Ask for Ashley as your consultant, she's the bomb. read more

This location was much better than the Mission Valley location. I went on a weekday afternoon and I was the only one in the store trying on dresses! The employees gave me a ton of dresses to try on (more than the Mission Valley store) and I ended up purchasing my dress from this location. Thank you! read more

This place is ridiculous- from quality of dresses to the horrible customer service. Can't say anything good about this place. My bridesmaids ended up getting their dresses on sale at Bloomingdales for way cheaper than David's! And, they were ADORABLE. Take your business elsewhere if you have the patience to research. read more

I have LOVED working with this store!! I have been in multiple times to Lon at wedding, bridesmaid, and flower girl dresses. I started with looking at wedding dresses. Marina was amazing to work with. She was so attentive and kind. The next time I went in I worked with Kori. She and I had a ball trying on a million different sashes with my dress. Every sales clerk has been so nice and helpful!!! I made the mistake of stopping into the Mission Valley store one say because it was closer, what a nightmare! It was a zoo and everyone there was really rude. The drive is worth it to go to La Mesa!! read more

This is absolutely the best store to go to even out of the other San diego David's Bridal. I had a complete melt down more than once and Tatiana was absolutely wonderful. Management even stepped in to help because I was very vulnerable not knowing what it is that I wanted. Trust these girls!!! No need to second guess them - they will look at you and choose what is most flattering for your body type. Don't go in just expecting that you know what you want, let them fit you into something different because they truly know what they are talking about. I am normally very well put together and strong as a person in the healthcare field but when it came to this I was clueless. Don't go to the other DB you will find the best customer service at the David's Bridal in La Mesa!!!!! read more

It was my first time trying on dresses and I had Amber and Jamie as my consultants. It was only Jamie's second day, so I suspect Amber purposely left her alone with us during my appointment. After the introductions and first few dresses got pulled, it was just Jamie and myself working with the dresses, and she was absolutely wonderful! We were laughing and chatting about pretty much everything. Jamie made the experience an unforgettably wonderful one, and I'm so happy to say I got to be her first sale. She may be new, but Jamie knows shapes and styles and just seemed to know what I would end up liking. She was just as excited as I was once I found my dress, and made me feel special every step of the way. 5 stars- all for Jamie and the wonderful dress she helped me find. read more

I had such a wonderful experience at this Davids bridal. I was so nervous and didn't want to be judged. Luckily the stylist (Martina Cooper) that helped me was amazing and super nice. The manager (La Donna) was amazing as well. They both reassured me my dress ( because another lady liked it as well) and I rang that bell. I wanna thank them so much for the Patience they had with me and for the drive to make this the most amazing experience ever. Not to mention, the store was clean, organized, and was fun environment to be in. Thank you again for my DREAM DRESS Davids bridal! read more

Everything from the staff to finding a dress was perfect! With covid I was very doubtful with being able to find a dress luckily David's bridal was open and had a amazing sale! It was very hard to only bring 2 people with me but in the midst of everything I'm grateful David's was still open! read more

I'm so happy that my fiance and I came to this location to look at ceremony accessories (i.e.: unity candles, flower girl baskets). I came in and the lady at the front desk (I wish I would've taken down her name!) greeted us with a smile and asked what we needed help with. I told her we were looking for ceremony accessories and she told us we could take a look at what they had and meanwhile, she'd get an associate to help us. Another associate, Brigida comes over and asks what kind of ceremony accessories we needed. I told her everything for the ceremony. So she showed us what they had and let us know of the options they had of changing the color, but due to the time crunch we had (14 days til the wedding at that time) we weren't able to do this because even with rushed delivery, we wouldn't receive our items on time. But it was ok with me, I went for the white accessories they had. Brigida then went above and beyond by giving us great tips such as maybe getting a hurricane lantern so that the wind wouldn't blow out the unity candle to reminding us not to put the real wedding bands on the ring boys pillow. Another thing I liked is that there was no rush from either consultants (lady that originally greeted us and Brigida) to purchase, which I really liked. Overall, I loved the service, loved the attention we got (not too much hovering to make us purchase items) and absolutely loved the staff! P.S.: This is the first time I've ever written a review on here but I really REALLY felt I had to share my experience because like I stated before, I absolutely loved the service. =) read more

I was having such a difficult time finding a dress myself throughout the store. Luckily, as I was in the fitting room wearing 4 plus dresses I wasn't in love with, Corinna comes to the rescue! She was so attentive and was so kind enough to look into finding a dress that could come before the 2 weeks with my size and in the color the bride wanted. I felt so bad because she was suppose to clock out sooner, but she still continued to help a girl out even after she clocked out. I ended up with this really beautiful Vera wang in quartz bridesmaid dress with some cute heels that Corrina helped picked out for me. I was so stressed out finding a dress in time and her customer service made such a difference! Thank you so much!!! If you guys go to this location, make sure to ask for Corinna! My future sister in law was dress shopping and of all the places we went to, Davids Bridal was the best experience. Great customer service, a lot of selection and rememberable experience. My sister probably tried on 15 dresses that day before we arrived at DB but they were the one. We had the privilege to work with Ashlee and within the first dress my sister tried on, she knew it was the one. Ashlee is one of the Fairy Godmother's people search for during this experience. Thank you for the excellent service and being so awesome! read more

Ugh. My bridal dress appt here was horrible. No help with the dresses, I was so confused about all the extra crap like slip and corset but my lady was helping 3 clients at once so there was very little attention given to me. She was also pulling dresses that were way different than the ones I described. I left feeling worried if I would ever find a dress. We returned for bridesmaids dresses and the experience was much better with a different salesperson. Still I would not suggest this place for a bridal gown ever. read more

Excellent customer service! I was greeted at the door by Kori who answered all of my questions and then assigned to Marina who helped me pick out my bridesmaid dress. I walked in clueless as to what kind of dress I wanted and in under an hour I had the dress I wanted. I purchased my dress and my bridal party's dress from the Mission Valley store, but ended up going to this store after having some challenges at the other store. Their manager, La Donna was wonderful. Very professional and genuinely cared about her customers. Their alterations manager, Ursula saved the dress. She made sure that I was happy with the alterations and also made suggestions for items to add with my dress. Overall, my experience with the La Mesa branch has been great. The other staff members were also helpful and provided great customer service. Because of my experience at this store, I will continue to be a David's Bridal (La Mesa branch) customer. A special thank you of course to Julie Scott (regional manager) for her assistance through this entire process. read more

This review is not so much for the store itself but for the stylist that was assigned to help my bridal party and I pick out bridesmaids dresses. Reva (may have been Reba) was one of the worst consultants I've ever had to work with. When we found the dress we all liked, I asked her to check what sizes are available because everyone in the bridal party ranges from a size 2 to a 22. She comes back and says that the stock is limited and that we would have to go to each David's Bridal store and physically see if they have the size in stock and that it may be damaged in store so nothing is guaranteed. She also said that she could not look it up or call the stores nearby to see if they had it. Basically she made it sound impossible to get our hands on this dress. So I go ahead and pick another one, which was hard for everyone to get over the first one since it was so gorgeous. Then she doesn't even help us on the sizing for that one either! Some of the girls needed to try on a specific size so they asked if she could check if Mission Valley had it so they could go there. Which by this point she was already giving us attitude and then told us they didn't have it. My maid of honor asked again and said they don't have different sizes even if its in the other colors? To which Reva again gives attitude and says "Yeah they have the size in the white and mint color if you want". Like really? How unhelpful can you be? We literally had to pull the words from her mouth just to get an answer. It was honestly an exhausting experience having to work with her, when she was supposed to be helping us. Back to the first dress that we all liked, that supposedly wasn't in stock ANYWHERE and she could not find out what stores had it. We went online to David's Bridal and they have all the sizes there for that dress. Now why couldn't she have at least told us that it was available online? Or even have tried to help us at all? Honestly Reva did not try to make an effort with our appointment at all. I was really disappointed because everyone had such high energy and excitement going in and by the time it was done, we were over it. read more

Excellent service, wonderful employees, and amazing management. This special moment couldn't have been better

I signed up for an appointment at the bridal bazaar so I expected there to be several appointments with me even though it was a Monday morning. I honestly was not expecting to find a dress that i liked nor get any kind of special services but i wanted to start my initial searching of shapes, colors, etc. My consultant was Sarah and she was wonderful! Very fun and personable, she really made me feel special. My only complaint, hence the four stars, is that I had to share her with a few other appointments which seemed to make the appointment take that much longer. However, she listened well and picked out some really great dresses. I was surprised and how much I loved them! Long story short, I went home with my perfect dress and I couldn't be happier. The entire store made me feel special and really excited for my big day! I don't usually like to be pushed into more appointments or anything like that but I was happy to sign up for my bridesmaids that day. Looking forward to going back! read more

Started off with a bad phone call, I called to go in to have my 8 yr old daughter try on a dress, she's going to be a flower girl for my niece's wedding in June. They could not find her account, said there were too many persons with the same name, I asked really? I find that hard to believe, finally after going round and round with sales person they found the account. Sales person stated that yes they had the flower girl dress in a size 12 and to come in and try it on. Got there with in 30 minutes, walked in and sated we were here to try on dress H1773 in a size 12. Sales person said the dresses are over there as she pointed. Once again I said really? I have to help myself? Sales person rolled her eyes and walked over to the dresses to check. No size 12 in that style she said. I told her I just called 30 minutes ago and was told the dress was here so I came right over. She stated someone must have bought it the past 30 minutes. WOW! LOL I don't think that was the case but OK. I asked when can you order another dress in this style so my daughter can come and try it on? Was told If they order the dress I would have to pay for it and there is a no return policy. I asked WHY ARE YOU MAKING THIS SO DIFFICULT? WE ARE HERE TO TRY ON A DRESS SO MY DAUGHTER KNOWS WHAT SIZE TO ORDER! Sales person said have her try on the 14. She is clearly not a 14 sale person, she is only 8 yrs old! We walked out. Was the worst experience with customer service I have ever had. Will not go back there or ever refer anyone to this place. On another note I came home called the Mission Valley location and talked to the manager Amy, she was very apologetic, said that would have never happened in her store and scheduled an appointment for us to come in and take measurements of my daughter to find out the correct size of dress to order. Now that is what customer service is all about, taking care of the customers needs. read more

I just left from David's bridal because their service was terrible! When you schedule an appointment and arrive on time, you would assume they will be waiting to help on time. I can understand if an appointment before runs a little late, 15 minutes at most but when you have to wait 45 minutes and then share a consultant with someone else, it's a huge disappointment. Also, when a mother has to play consultant and help her own daughter put a wedding dress on, it's not an experience any bride should have. This is a time for a bride to try on beautiful dress and envision what she will be wearing to the love of her life, not waiting in the room with the under garments on for 20 minutes without any service. Ridiculous!!! read more

I am so glad that there are so many positive reviews on here. However, those reviews are got my hopes up and i was excited for my appointment at davids bridal. That excitement dwindled the longer I spent in the store. My appointment started well, we walked in I talked to a very nice lady checked in and and got a cute goodie bag. after I was given my goodie bag the lady said "Your consultant just took another bride back it should only be a few minutes." I said ok and we went to browse dresses. She didnt come get me till 35 min after my appointment time. when she got there she didnt even know when my appointment was. Or who i was. She was very nice and I dont blame her, but davids bridal should only have ONE consultant per bride. I didnt feel special and frankly she was so involved in the other bride I was constantly waiting. Customer service not good, seemed like nobody new what they needed to do and store looked dirty and messy. Person that helped us made a huge mistake. She gave us the wedding dress in a clear gown cover so we put the dress in the trunk and were on our way, but I realized it was the store's cover, so we drove back and returned the plastic clear cover and after that the sales girl wanted to sale us the one's they have with David's Bridal logo on it. I feel she should have given us the gown cover or at least give us a discount on the one she tried to sale to us but she didn't want to give us a discount. read more

My first initial experience was alright there. They were nice and helpful. I went there a couple of times. But on my last visit there when I thought I had found a dress that was nice enough within my budget they tricked me. I found a dress I liked with an incredible price markdown of $400. Original price was $599 and it had a tag that said $200 off. I was very excited since I was trying to stay within a budget. But to my disappointment when they went to ring it up they told me the tag was a "mistake" and that the actual price was $560 something plus tax which put it up to like $600 dollars...I asked if they could honor the price tag and they said no. At the moment I felt confused and pressured because the worker told me that if I didn't put it on layaway I could lose the dress, so I did. But then I realized I was paying way more than I had expected for that particular dress. So I went back and cancelled it within a week. They did refund me my full deposit but then tried to tell me that now they would honor the price tag. Not nice! So beware of the price tags on the dresses...have them verify the price before you get your hopes up. They should honor their tags even if they are mistakes. read more

I came here looking for my second wedding dress. I was excited because my stylist seemed to be a little off beat and awesome so I expected this would be better than my last David's Bridal experience but, alas, I was wrong. I came with a list of dresses I had looked at on the David's bridal website, complete with the style numbers so it would be easy. We were told NOT to pull dresses ourselves. The consultant pulled three dresses from my list and then started to seem disappointed with us when we nixed them all. I came in looking to spend honestly and after the clearly annoyed look on her face I just wanted to get the hell out of there. I will not be buying a second dress from David's Bridal. read more

We made a 1.5 hour appointment for my sister to try on bridal dresses. They got us in the same day, so that was great! If you've ever tried on wedding dresses, you know that 1.5 hours is a pretty small appointment window to do so (apparently that's the max. time they offer), so we knew the appointment was going to fly by. Not a bid deal; there were four of us there to help my sister and we could get it done NO PROBLEM!! We were on time, but were not greeted by the lady who was going to help us out for somewhere around 25 minutes. When she came over, it sounded like another appointment had been holding her up and she then started asking my sister all sorts of questions about the wedding venue, date, theme, colors, etc. Okay, I get that she wants an idea of what the wedding will look like, but this took about 15 minutes which put us half-way through our appt without trying on a single dress, so MAYBE ask these questions while fitting my sister and looking at dresses together?... After that, she still had to fit her for a dress size AND get my sister's room ready for her. What was she doing in those first 25 minutes?? It looked like they had at least 10 bridal rooms in the middle of the shop with only one other bride-to-be in the store, so I didn't really understand the holdup of getting her a room. But whatever... So we looked at more dresses. I lifted one dress off the rack and got told not to by our helper. Okay, sorry... We went over to our room once it was ready and as soon as our helper opened the dressing room door, we all noticed that it hadn't been vacuumed in ages. Wtf. But we weren't going to let that phase us, we were on a mission to get the bride-to-be in some beautiful white gowns! The dressing rooms barely fit two people, which were my sister and the store helper. My sister would have rather had one of her sisters or mother in there with her, but she was very graceful and didn't complain. I found a bunch of accessories, pretty combs, vails and belts, and we started playing around with her look, and then I just took over the role of helping my sis in and out of her dresses, because the helper was extremely slow at fetching the different dresses we had shown interest in --- part of the issue was that she didn't seem to be noting what dresses we were pointing out --- AND she said we could only have three dresses by her changing room at a time! What nonsense. Are you sure you're trying to sell us a wedding dress?? Because I think the Otay Prison guards would have done a supremely better job. She ended up being able to try on quite a few dresses (no thanks to any of the workers at David's Bridal), but as soon as our appointment was over, the store helper said she couldn't try on any more dresses unless another helper was available. I told her we thought my sis's appt might be able to go longer, since she didn't start helping us until 25 minutes into our appt and my sis didn't get to start trying on dresses until halfway through her appt. Maybe I got spoiled when I bought my dress at Here Comes the Bride, but the customer service was severely LACKING and disappointing for an experience that should have been SO MUCH BETTER for such an exciting life event. I would absolutely not go back here unless they were the only bridal shop in SD. I would have given this rating one or even zero stars if possible but my experience was uplifted by how pretty my sister looked in some of the dresses. So there's that... Side note: There is no way all of those 5-star reviews below are real. Maybe there was an incentive to give a good review or maybe they're friends of people who work there. I would be mortified if I was the owner. read more

I had Savannah as my stylist and she was a total sweetheart, very engaging and helped make me feel excited. This was a follow-up appointment so I'd been once before and was pretty sure on the dress already (my consultant the first time wasn't quite as helpful, just very quiet and not leading the way which was hard since I'd never tried dresses on before.) Savannah had me try on a corset/bra thing under the dress, which my previous stylist had not done and she also asked how my fiance and I met, which made me feel welcome and special. She was super patient and helpful as I poured over various sleeve options and helped me explain what I wanted to the alterations lady who seemed to have trouble at first understanding what I wanted. The manager also came over to help out and she was very nice. Then when I'd chosen my dress, they let me make a wish and ring a bell, which made the occasion feel very magical. read more
