I had hardly even looked a dresses before going in and was very overwhelmed by all the dresses but Xochilt was AMAZING and patient and found me lots of dresses in my budget to try on with my vague ideas of what I wanted. We narrowed it down to a couple on my first go round and then I couldn't make a decision. I scheduled a follow up with Xochilt alone (without audience of my friends/family) a few days later and we tried on my top dresses and a several others and I realized how much I loved one of the original top dresses. I'm not familiar with a lot of the process that goes into a wedding. I bought my dress a few weeks ago and it came in today. Of course with my stature I definitely needed alterations. So, Ken was able to start as soon as I put on the dress. Which is great considering I would have had to schedule an appointment for. He was super helpful in explaining in details what was happening or what was going to happen. Explained pricing and even followed up with giving me the opportunity to ask him any questions. Also super fun to talk to which made the process even easier. It wasn't awkward at all standing while pins were placed on me. I have another wedding that I'll have to go through this again for. I was one of those brides that thought because I was having a small intimate wedding I couldn't have a real wedding dress. I was so mistaken. Marlana, Lauren, and Ashley took such good care of me, and made me feel so special. Lauren walked me around and helped me figure out what I liked and didn't. She was so sweet, and so helpful. Ashley explained the process to us perfectly, and helped me at the end of my purchase! It was such an amazing experience from the moment we walked in the door. It felt like a warm hug from some old friends. After finding a couple dresses with my best friends, we booked another appointment for later that day to return with my mom. We asked the ladies to pretend like they hadn't seen us today so my Mom wouldn't feel left out. They did exactly that, and were so sweet about it. We even made a few jokes. Haha. The pros: the staff support and patience when finding my dress and alterations Cons: I support paying what you get for and I picked up my dress today to feel the same when I first tried on the dress. I don't see any difference besides the length of the dress being more appropriate for my height. There was a $5 charge for a small detail but honestly I regret agreeing bc I feel like my dress still looks the same. The cups were sewed in but I feel like my funbags aren't sitting right. Lerisa? Tried helping me out but we just kept the dress the way it was. My dress was about $150 which wasn't too bad but after alterations, it was about $300, which I don't find worth at the end. I feel like they charge for every.little.thing. I also came in one time to look for shoes and I found a pair that was just SO dirty-most likely from others trying them on-and I just thought to myself for the price you're paying for, you want your shoes to look spankin' new. They do offer touch up cleaning but shoes that are supposed to be new and they look like its been used already is just unappealing to me. read more

I just want to say that the staff here is excellent. After purchasing my dress here I went back to do my first fitting. At first Karina seemed pretty skeptical about being able to do the alterations that I was requesting, but she and her manager were very patient and dedicated to figuring out how to get it done at a fair price. On my next fitting with Karina she was even more amazing. My MOH and Sister were there and saw small needs for improvements. We let Karina know and she was able to get these fixed within 20 min. This was the first place I decided to try dresses on and the last place. Marley was my Bridal gown consultant. She was AMAZING! I told her what I was looking for and she pulled 4 dresses for me. The first one was beautiful! I thought I found my dress right away but she suggested I try a couple more. Second was a NO. Third.... Was just WOW! I knew that instant it was my dress! Marley matched me up with accessories and a veil and everything looked so good and so perfect I purchased it all. Thanks to her great taste and good eye, I have the dress of my dreams! Can I also say I had a party of 11 (some bridesmaids, some family) there for my dress appointment and man, she handled it like a champ. After an hour I had 3 more of my Bridesmaids and my Wedding Coordinator show up for the bridesmaids gown finding/fitting. Emma was up to handle our huge group. But man, again, she handled like a champ! I thought OMG how are we going to get through this? But Emma took control immediately and got to work measuring. 2hrs later all of my bridesmaids had chosen dresses (of different styles) with the same color scheme. It took fairly long to check out and pay for my 8 bridesmaids, Mom and Sisters. But that was expected with how big our party was. Everyone found what they wanted, in the same color and I got my dress all within 4hrs. That's pretty amazing if you ask me. Some bridal parties take months to get it all done. We did it in a day! Thoughts of wedding dress shopping gives me anxiety and cold sweats. Well, maybe just the regular kind of sweats. My already flushed skin glows fluorescent red under the glaring lights. My back fat is visible from all angles in 360 mirrors. Having to wear skimpy undergarments in front of an unsuspecting stylist, who has no idea of the horrors that await her. The dresses, fluffy white poofs that turn my curves into marshmallows of epic proportions. Remembering all the reasons why eloping, or heck, going to the dentist, would be better than this. Then you meet S'handra (I apologize, I probably butchered the spelling) funny, relatable, and nonjudgmental. I became so comfortable that I almost forgot that I had to flounce around in an awkward slip and corset. A dress was found, a victory was claimed. The best part? It's over with and I don't ever have to go back. Well, until next week for alterations. Bottom line, it was a great experience and I am so thankful for the lovely women at David's Bridal who made this petrifying quest, a happy memory. And I didn't even faint! read more

I ordered two sizes online of a jumpsuit from David's Bridal and panicked when the smaller size still made me feel like I was wearing a circus tent. I had an appt with a seamstress to make alterations but at the last minute called the David's Bridal in La Mesa. Jenna answered the phone and was super helpful - I knew that that was the location I needed to visit to explore additional options. Jenna greeted me when I arrived, gave me a different size to try on, and told me that there was no one available to help and unfortunately it would have to be self-service - this ended up being the opposite of true because Jenna and Audrey helped me 2,000%. Audrey was helping others in the fitting are when I asked if she could help zip me. I then asked her a lot of questions about the fit, and Jenna helped find me shoes to determine whether the pant length was appropriate. We decided it would work but then after some research from both Audrey and Jenna, realized the dress was no longer available in the the size needed. They both then showed me a few other color options but unfortunately that size also was out of stock. Audrey then suggested an even lower size that actually fit and Jenna helped me place the order to ensure it would arrive on time. I cannot recommend this location enough. I felt like the team really cared about getting me in the right outfit for my occasion and wanted me to be comfortable and confident in my choice. I always kind of laughed at David's Bridal a few years ago for it seemed like some kind of silly chain with not so quality dresses inside of it. This past summer I will say that, yes, it is a chain, but the dresses are to die for! Gathering estimates for my ever-increasing interest in wedding dresses led me to find the home of where my dress hangs on its hanger (for a few more months). The service members are the nicest! They get you registered in their database right away while treating you with the utmost respect. They are by appointment only but if you show up on a walk-in, they might let you take someones appointment time if they didn't show up. The catalogs are all over the tables if you haven't already previously been browsing on their website, and it seems that every dress of interest in the catalog they know exactly where in the store it is and bring it right out. There are TONS of fitting rooms complete with the big mirrors to admire your garment selection. The personal consultants helping you in and out of the dresses will go to the ends of the store to find any idea that pops into your head and bring out only the best accessories to furnish your dress. The consultants are very patient and do not push you into buying the first time you try on, major benefit! They will also be very honest with you about if the dress is flattering enough on your body... also very important! Once you've finished admiring yourself in your dress, which you have the freedoms to roam around the store in to make sure it is practical for the big day, you can check out the big selection of shoes, accessories, and veils. I found my shoes for only 30 bucks and they go with my dress completely! While you're there, you can also check out the wide variety of bridesmaid dresses, which are almost cuter than the wedding dresses. They come in all colors, styles, and themes surely to appease anyone in your wedding party. They have sample colors for you to take home if you need to show them off for second opinions. Need invitations too? They do them as well! They also have goodie bags filled with wedding caterers, photographers, cake decorators, etc. etc. that they work closely with. A few days after your appointment they call you to be sure you had a good time and to answer any questions about your dress or even to reschedule another fitting. I appreciate greatly that they know exact numbers of weeks it will take to order particular dresses in, perfect for planning out your ceremony! The service here is top notch and I would definitely recommend this store to anyone! read more

This store is the Walmart of bridal stores. They provide a wide range of dresses that are very generic, so if you are somewhere that you can walk in and come out with a dress a thousand other brides will have, this is the place. Unfortunately, if you would like guidance and someone who can help with the process of trying on wedding dresses, David's Bridal is not for you. I had made a profile online so the associates could pull my dresses more easily when I arrived. However, when I arrived, they could not find my profile, so that was a waste of my time. Even if you make an appointment, they double book, so your associate will leave you. This happened to me at the appointment I made in Mission Valley and in La Mesa. Melissa was working with me at the La Mesa location, and although she was very nice and friendly, she did not pull most of the dresses that I had requested. She did not help with suggestions for how dresses could be fitted, and she was not around to answer questions about types of fabric, size options, veils, etc. My friend and I were left completely to ourselves. They do not offer flexibility on their prices. Any alterations are extra. If you asked me for my opinion, I would say no to David's Bridal. read more

I was so disappointed! I came here with my younger sister to go shopping for her wedding dress. I've never been married, but this is not my first time in a bridal store. I know what the dress buying experience is supposed to look and feel like, and David's bridal is not it! 2 very generous stars because they do have a wide selection and the prices are affordable. But that's the end of the "pro" list. A huge part of the problem, is that the wedding dress consultants are booked to have anywhere from 2-4 brides they're working with at the same time. So even though my sister would try on a dress and know immediately it wasn't the one, we would still have to wait 15-20 minutes in between dresses for the consultant to come back from tending to her other brides to help her change. On top of that, she wasn't listening to my sister at all. My sister told her she was getting married on a beach and wanted a simple dress that was lightweight and flowy. After hearing my sisters words and nodding her head like she understood, the consultant brought back not one, but TWO ballgowns! Seriously? I finally sent the the bridal party into the store to pull dresses that were gonna be worth while to try on since the consultant was obviously overwhelmed or inexperienced, or deaf....or maybe all of the above. My sister did end up getting her dress here but it was after a ton of wasted time waiting around and lots of frustration trying to get her consultant to understand her vision. There were never any tears of happiness or overwhelming joyful feelings. After all the frustration and confusion, we were all just so glad to be done. That's definitely not how the wedding dress experience is supposed to go down. read more

When my wife called the store to inquire about the service, she spoke with Cindy and was very impressed with her customer service. This was my first dress fitting and I was a walk-in without an appointment; I was welcomed by the manager (Cortika?) who was extremely wonderful :) Sierra was my stylist and I COULD NOT be more satisfied with her customer service. I went into David's Bridal with high hopes. They had a great selection, and at affordable prices. I went in, and waited about 15 minutes before the associate came to talk to me about the dresses I had been eying. I tried on about 2 dresses with a similar style and realized that I hated it. I told the associate what I didn't like. My comments including that I felt like a big bulge. No one wants to feel big on their wedding day. But, she kept getting the same styles. In my head I was thinking, "Have you even heard a word I said?" One of the managers came around and kept insisting that one dress was THE dress. No it wasn't. I felt awful in it. And she was practically PUSHING me to buy it (This was not going to make me like it more), and when I said no this wasn't it. She rolled her eyes, and gave me attitude. I think David's Bridal is pushy all around, even at the Bridal Bizarre's and shows, they just HERD people like cattle. If I say "No, Thank you"... then please BACK OFF. The associate although was very nice, she just wasn't helpful in finding a dress that would flatter me. I also felt like she was getting my dresses mixed up with the other woman who she was helping out as well. I get it, it gets busy in there, but please stay focused. As someone else who wrote in the comments below "I left my appointment feeling defeated and scared to make another appointment anywhere else." I just didn't feel beautiful in any of the dresses. David's Bridal wasn't for me. It's not personal, and made me feel like I was the problem. I was very disappointed in my experience there. read more

Whatever you do... when you go to try on dresses and such... do not give them your real phone number. Because even though I have told them a good 5 times that I already found a dress elsewhere and to please take my name off the list... They call me several times per week! Its really annoying. I was not impressed with their selection. I didn't like that they had me wearing a body slimmer to try on dresses. Um I only weigh 98 lbs... is that really necessary? The salesperson kept asking me questions and I wanted her to stop. I'm sure she was trying to be nice and all. But she was asking a bit too much on the personal level for my taste about my relationship. Obviously not very good at reading my discomfort and continued on asking personal questions. I didn't find anything I wanted in this store at the end of it at all. I had very good luck at 2000 dreams bridal on convoy. They were so nice and helpful there. Give that place a try. read more

Joy was literally a Joy! We came in after many dress appointments (3 too many). I was bossy for my bride ELLENA, I knew what she wanted. Joy took her time let us try on so many dresses. I went to this location with my bridesmaids today. We didn't have an appointment but we wanted to try a few dresses. They were so welcoming and they gave us their undivided attention. Most importantly, I want to really say I appreciated Cami. All the girls had different requests and she stayed with us, remembered all requests and made sure to accommodate everyone. I was very amazed at how patient and nice she was to all of us. I didn't sense any kind of irritation from her. This morning, my fiancée and I had our very first wedding gown appointment. We made the appointment after the San Diego Bridal Bazaar as we also received a coupon if we purchased a dress. We were welcomed in and began our appointment with Shelly, who was fantastic. She wrote down a few measurements and asked us some questions about our opinions on a dress. We then began sampling. Being that each appointment was 90 minutes long, we started with our first dress, which was beautiful. She then tried her second dress, which was a beautiful Vera Wang, and it was the one. We continued on, all the while Shelly was making it extremely comfortable for us, always asking us what our thought was, and making the process so fantastic. Little did we know, the 90 minutes flew by and we weren't finished. Afterwards, we went back to try on the Vera Wang before leaving and then my fiancée put on the veil and we all were balling in tears. It was a perfect moment. We purchased the dress using our coupon and the available discounts at the store, and like I said, Shelly was awesome. She made the process so smooth and easy, never bothering us about the time and the small details. I would like to thank her and would recommend her service if you have the availability when making your own appointment. *Note. We are not the usual couple that follow the traditional standards of not seeing the bride in the gown before the wedding.
