I am in a wedding in a couple of months and don't have enough time to order a dress. With that in mind, and having had a horrible experience at House of Brides next door, the girls here were very eager to help and went out of their way to check on dresses that were available in my size and color. I didn't end up getting the dress here however, and the reason for only 4 stars, is because the bridesmaids dresses are a little plain and unflattering. The customer service was excellent though, and I was hesitant to even go after hearing such horrible things about this chain. read more

I gave three stars because I bought my bridesmaids dresses here and everyone was really great and friendly. I would have given five stars; however, I am now four weeks post nuptial and I am STILL getting junk emails from insurance companies (nationwide), and video vendors, photography vendors, etc. and several other companies because David's Bridal EXPLOITS your email address to SO MANY companies. I went there yesterday trying to find the dress. I had an okay budget with a max, but I really wanted to stay around 1k. Bobby who helped me was more than understanding. Saw my vision very quickly and started pulling out the correct dresses. I wanted a huge ballgown. I am fairly young so I needed a dress that fit that and bobby pulled amazing dresses, I pulled 6 dresses and honestly I tried only 2 and dodnt try the rest because bobby started pulling better ones! The dress they had me try was champagne colored, while I wanted solid white. Even though they didnt have it. They pulled one out from alterations before it was getting cleaned to show me the same dress in white. That was so helpful and kind of them to go show much out of their way to let me see the dress. I am thrilled I found a perfect gown at a wonderful place will come agian for brides maids dresses. Oh also I have less then 2 months to get the dress. And they are making it happen and I didnt feel limited in my selection of dresses due to my short time. read more

My attendant Jennifer was great! She really took time to figure out what I was looking for in a dress, and made the whole experience a lot of fun! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was that my budget wasn't taken into consideration, and the store was extremely crowded. Ok so here's the thing. I have had so many ups and downs with this store. It's local for us and brides I know keep choosing David's for obvious reasons. If you want a lovely dress for a good price, or have out of town maids this is a great option. We have had terrible problems with the bridesmaids department with people being inattentive and cold. We also had a situation where a plus sized maid's measurements were announced through the store and multiple employees came to laugh at her. I vowed then, I would never return. That was 2 years ago. I went back just recently as my best friend chose David's to get her dress. She had a small budget and a big wish list, the consultant never made her feel less than and she did find the dress of her dreams in her budget. My faith was renewed in the store and I will no longer put it down, but I do think you can find better experiences, and a more plus sized friendly experience, elsewhere. read more

I just went to DB and had a great experience because of Molly! She was awesome, very friendly and helpful. This was the first shop I went to, and I was afraid it'd be kind of awkward, but Molly was easygoing and made the experience enjoyable. I went in having no idea what I wanted, and tried on probably every dress in the store, but she was cheerful and happy to help. On the other hand, there was another bride-to-be having an appointment a few rooms down with another girl and she did not seem to be having a good time at all. That girl WAS awkward and not nearly as friendly, and I was thinking "whoa I'm glad I don't have that girl.' If you go to DB, make your appointment with Molly and you'll be happy! read more

We had the best experience and the Lombard location, they were kind, left us alone and allowed us to try on bridesmaid dresses without an appointment. So great we placed an order for 6 dresses and 6 pairs of shoes. They said we could go to any location and have the other girls try on a size and place an order. So that's exactly what we did here, however they refused us without an appointment and finally a manager allowed us in. Then the girl taking measurements was so far off we're not even sure she knows how to use a measuring tape. It was awful and embarrassing and we truly wanted to cxl right there. We didn't want to start all over so we did order two more junior dresses that day. Then another bridesmaid came to this same location and also had a terrible experience that she left and went to order online. Had it not been for the experience at Lombard, we would have cancelled everything. Now, we haven't received our dresses and shoes just yet...so more to come. read more

The dresses they carry are all on their website, so check there beforehand to see if you'll like what they carry. They gave me their catalog when I arrived for my appointment and I just pointed to the ones I wanted to try on. The woman that helped me was very nice, but I just didn't find anything that I loved. Their price ranges are very appealing. They also called me a lot after the appointment, sometimes from what appeared to be their main call center, so that was kind of annoying. read more

When shopping for my daughters wedding David's Bridal has been our one stop shop for everything from her dress to bridesmaids dresses to dresses for the moms. We have worked with Lauren at the Aurora location and she has been fabulous. She's attentive, calm, patient and very pleasant to work with all around. The manager and Eleni from alterations have also been very good to work with. My daughter had quite a bit of alterations on her dress and everything worked out well and timely. We are very satisfied with our experience and would recommend Davids Bridal to friends and would tell them to specifically ask to work with Lauren. read more

I had the best experience here to buy my wedding dress. Kristin was extremely helpful in picking out styles I liked that were within my budget. She actually gave us really honest and helpful feedback about styles of dresses and veils that my family didn't think of, and we really appreciated that. It was clear that she wasn't being pushy, just wanting to help me have the best experience possible. And the whole time she was super sweet, and seemed just as excited as we were. I had an awesome experience with this place. First off, I went in with my bridesmaids to find their dresses. I was sure we found the perfect dress and a few of my girls ordered theirs that day. When they came in I HATED them! We they didn't have any in the style we were getting that were the color I chose so I couldn't see it before hand. Needless to say right after I saw them I was super stressed out and didn't know what I was going to do because 4 girls already had their dresses. I called them last Monday and the manager (I wish I could think of her name) was so sweet. She said it was totally ok and I could come in to look at them again and choose another color or choose a different style completely! I was so relieved. We ended up getting a different color and style completely and I couldn't be more excited! read more

I went in for my wedding dress fitting today and was helped by Lisa. We discussed what changes I wanted made to the dress, and I asked her for advice. She was very helpful and gave me her opinion, and actually had some insights I hadn't considered. This was the worst experience ever. I have a wedding that I am in for my best friend and i went to Davids to try on and order the dress. When I got there, they pulled up the information and brought me the dress in 2 different sizes to try on. I tried and 10 and a 12. Knowing that the 10 would be fine, but it was bit snug I went ahead and ordered the 12 knowing I could have this taken in and would be simplier. When it came time to pay, the girl double checked my size and said ok, a 12. They never gave me a reciept or anything with my size on it. When they emailed me to let me know my order had arrived, I checked and found out they ordered me a 14! So, when I went to try the dress on it was HUGE...now I was going to have to have way more taken in then orginally planned which meant more money. Not only did it take like 10 min for someone to come speak with me, but the "manager" told me there were no notes, and that all it said was a size 14 was ordered and they were really sorry it was just an "accicent" Then she explained they could reorder it for me and hope it would be in by Oct. 30th, the wedding is Nov. 5 and I was still needing alterations. Then she told me MAYBE she could get me discount in alterations but she'd have to call HR...um, why would HR need to be talked to about alterations?? Either way, I took the dress and had it done somewhere else, and I can guarantee you, I will NEVER recommened Davids to ANYONE! read more

My sister and I came to David's Bridal for bridesmaids dresses. We had just come from House of Brides next door, and after that horrendous experience, the people at David's Bridal were so polite and so accommodating, that it made finding dresses fun and easy. We didn't need an appointment, they had a great variety to choose from, and they made it very simple for my bridesmaids across the country to be able to order dresses with ease. I ordered and purchased three dresses, one bridal and 2 bridesmaids....all three were a wreck, bridesmaids were ripped and one had three large runs in it. The bridal dress, well.....I don't think the sales floor and the alterations department have the same training....the ordered dress was ordered too large perhaps all of their profits come from alterations. I measured one size and they ordered the next one up. Standard) the alterations were supposed to be done in a month but when I went in to pick it up nothing had been done yet. I walked in full of excitement to have my bridesmaids try on dresses! Unfortunately, I left angry and frustrated because Ruby provided the worst customer service I have ever received while wedding shopping. I had such a wonderful experience here...I have absolutely nothing bad to report so far, only good things! I walked into this store and was immediately greeted in a very warm and professional manner. I explained that I just had an appointment at another bridal store chain and was totally turned down and disrespected. I asked if it were possible to try on dresses without an appointment, and within seconds my consultant, Anna, introduced herself and took note of exactly what I was looking for. She asked for my price range and respected it the entire time. She picked out about 6 dresses that matched up to what I described in different ways. Anna was so patient and kind. I never felt rushed out of any of the dresses. After trying on the dresses she initially picked out, she said she now has a feel for what she thinks I like...she picked out two more dresses, one of which became THE ONE. The whole process she would mess around with veils, hairpieces and straps to really give me an idea of what I wanted. The whole process was wonderful! So happy with my experience here. read more

Absolutely underwhelmed at our experience here. The selection of dresses is just so so. The customer service was awful. We did not feel like we were wanted and barely anyone spoke to us the entire time. When someone was assigned to us it was the same thing, no communication. First of all.....if I could this store a zero I would. Terrible service and absolutely filthy store. Our consultant, Jennie was never really around. She was busy flitting around helping other customers and checking people out. At one point we got up and started picking out the dresses ourselves from the racks. Still don't understand why an appointment needed to be made since our consultant was of no help what so ever!!!!!! I wouldn't recommend this establishment to my worst enemy!!!!! Dresses had blood stains in them..broken zippers...and no clips to hold the dress in place if it was too big. Disappointed and will never set foot in the store again. I have to say that I was incredibly disappointed with the service at this location. We went just to look at dresses, not even to find my bridal dress. Of course, that means I found the dress. I really wanted my mom to see it and she wasn't with us. When I explained this tithe consultant and her manager, they first suggested I call my mother to come. I explained she lived in Wisconsin. Then, they suggested I Skype with her. They then said the dress may be clearanced in the next week. When we pointed out it was in thier fall book they had just put out, they seemed annoyed. After saying that I wasn't going to buy a dress that day, the consultant walked away and said we had the dressing room for 30 more minutes, never helping us again. The next day, I drove to the location in Brookfield, WI, bought the dress and had wonderful customer service. Do yourself a favor...travel the 20 minutes to the Lombard location and avoid the Aurora one. I've stopped in at Lombard and they are wonderful and not just out for a sale. read more

I was very weary about going and looking for a bridal dress at David's Bridal because of all the negative reviews. I am definitely glad I went. Even though I did not find my dress, I tried on at least 10 beautiful dresses thanks to the help of Sarah. She was amazing and very patient with me and my crew. First I was late to my appointment, but I called ahead and gave them notice which they appreciated. Second, they let me try dresses on until the store closed. They did not shove me out the door before 7:00 p.m. And third, even though Sarah was going between me another bride, only for beginning, she was still very sweat and apologetic for not being right next to me. I think we, as brides, need to be a little more patient when we are trying on dresses. But just remember to be patient. Because even though this experience is supposed to be all about us, the people that work at David's Bridal are human and have a job that requires them to cater to many people at a given time. I would HIGHLY recommend going to David's Bridal. They have such a wide variety of beautiful dresses. read more

My first trip in was fine, I found the dress for a reasonable price...however I was pressured into purchasing a hair flower piece that is probably worth $10 and they charged $99 and said 'no returns,' before I even touched the box it came in. Near the end it became a big rush, the saleslady helping me rushed my bridesmaids into trying on dresses. When we went to pick up the dresses (because they can't hold them), the girl helping me seemed totally uninterested and told me I needed a slip which the first woman had never mentioned and put on a totally different bra. Today I called to get my slip and bra style numbers and sizes because I am getting it tailored elsewhere and when I told the woman I did not want to make an appointment to figure out my sizes she became rude and ended the call. Ugh, frusturating, not to mention the non stop phone calls and emails from them and other companies soliciting to me. Overall, great dress selection and price but plan on going elsewhere for everything else. read more

Recently, I visited David's Bridal in Aurora Colorado with my mom who was visiting from out of state. Being kind of and "anti-bride" who is having a rather non traditional backyard BBQ wedding, I hadn't considered going to any "traditional" bridal stores. My mom wanted to have the experience of going with me to the bridal store and watching me try on wedding dresses. From the get go, the gals at David's were so very accomodating! We hadn't set an appointment but they were able to get us in and get us a wonderful consultant Kendra to help us out. I was feeling a little overwhelmed by the "sea of white dresses" but Kendra walked me through pointing out some dresses that I actually liked. The one on one attention made me much more relaxed than I was before I walked in the door. It was very helpful for me to have suggestions from the staff about the dresses, as I didn't really have an idea of what I wanted. The manager stopped by with some cute white beaded flipflops- which would be perfect for a backyard wedding, she also had a great shorter dress suggestion- which even though I wouldn't have picked it out for myself ended up surprising me by looking great! I never felt "pressured" by the staff, and really appreciated the time they took to help me feel comfortable. I felt most of the dresses were a nice range of pricepoints and they had some nice selections to choose from. Since this was my 1st attempt at looking at dresses, I didn't purchase anything, but I came away from the experience with a better idea of what works for my body, and found a few dresses that I really LIKED a LOT! I will most likely be back to see what their selections are a little closer to my date to make my final decision. She called when there was a potential problem, but had already solved it and just wanted to "keep me in the loop". I could not appreciate that service any more. She is so great. After reading a few reviews I was a little nervous coming in. I went today with my mom grandma and my aunt just to start looking and to try on wedding dresses. We weren't even planning on buying the dress today. But I seriously had THE BEST customer service ever. Kristina was the one that helped me and she was amazing!
