I went into this store on 01/25 and wanted to buy a ring to match my cable David Yurman. I wanted a mixed ring silver and gold. However, the associate Daniela who was helping me made me feel extremely uncomfortable and rushed. I felt like I couldn't take my time and pick which rings I liked more. I also felt judged based off of my appearance. I ended up only getting the petite infinity band mixed, but I had asked her for a size 6. After I opened the ring at home, I noticed she gave me a 6.5 and it was not cleaned. It still had the residue from what I think was the sticker on it. Time and time again I felt uncomfortable walking into this David Yurman location. I have been helped by Rogan twice now. Once for pickup and to return the ring today 02/17. He has been very kind and helpful. I hope service at this location changes and makes people feel more comfortable and welcomed. read more

Daniela was helping another customer, so I patiently waited. In the meantime Retta offered to help. I love that the coworkers will step in and assist. I went into the SCP boutique to buy my sister a birthday gift a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I got her the wrong size and she had to go in today to exchange it. She was short and rude, she rolled her eyes several times, she muttered things under her breath, and finally when we pointed out this behavior she didn't apologize and instead said "it's been a long day." I had a very difficult pregnancy and suffered severe post partum anxiety and depression last year. I decided to treat myself for Christmas and was considering a bangle from either Cartier or Van Cleef that I could engrave with my son's name. I didn't enjoy the experience at those stores and decided to visit DY. I had previously owned a few of the classic silver cable bracelets (such great quality). Paige assisted me and I instantly connected with her. She was so patient and showed me a few options and was very honest and I appreciated her opinions as to what fitted me and what didn't. I ended up loving the sculpted bracelet which I got engraved. The design is simple and clean yet beautiful. She packaged it so nicely and held onto the Christmas packaging for me even though I didn't get the bracelet until well after Christmas because the processing time for the engraving. I really so appreciate Paige because I was a mess at the time of my visit but she was so supportive. She made the experience so amazing and enjoyable for me. Thank you Paige! I have literally been here more times than I can count. Each and every time, Vanessa, the ultimate homegirl, always takes phenomenal care of me. Ordered a bracelet in store and chose to ship it there to take advantage of the two day shipping. I came back two days later and it was not ready. My sales associate, instead of apologizing was telling me how I shouldn't come unless they call me and that's how David Yurman works and how it didn't arrive because I ordered on the weekend. Well I ordered on a Wednesday and I have shopped at this store before along with other fine jewelry places and if someone verbally tells me to come back two days later they usually stick to their word. I came back, waited a whole week, and spoke to the manager and she was nice and apologized. In the end, I got my bracelet but it would've been nice to know the two day shipping is actually a week long, because then I would've just shipped it to my house. Also my sales associate never called like she said she would, I called numerous time, not to mention after I gave her my sales receipt she pulled up the wrong profile, even with my information. Will never go to this store again. My husband and I decided to give David Yurman a try to look for my valentine gift. We walked in and took a look around the store for couple mins. No-one seemed to care or greeted us. We assumed they all were busy with other customers so we waited in the middle of the store patiently for someone to come over. My husband made eye contact with one of the sale rep (an Asian lady) a few times while standing in the store. We waited for 10 mins then a couple walked in and that lady immediately helped that couple despite us were waiting. We patiently waited for another 10 mins. Another couple walked in and that same sale rep couldn't make a sale from the first couple and still ignored us to come helping the second couple just walked in. I ended up with a ring that was a little too big (realized that when I got home) but there was no issues exchanging it. My best friend surprised me with a gorgeous David Yurman bracelet. The bracelet was a little bit too small for my wrist so I took it to the Costa Mesa store. They sent it in to have it extended. I was told it could take up to 2 months. When I told them that I would love to get it before my Europe trip they promised me I would get it. They received it from their repair department the day before I left for Europe and had it sent via a messenger that same day to me about 30 miles away. Wow, what an incredible management team! Nice selection of stuff. Abhorrent customer service. I've been shopping here for a few years, mostly for bracelets, and rings. I stopped in with my sisters; we are always looking to add some pretty stuff to our respective collections. We are 3 South Asian American women. We were dressed to the nines, having just left a bridal shower nearby. We were "helped" (I use this term loosely) by someone who could use a refresher course in manners, customer service, discriminatory practices, and basic human decency. Maybe it is time for DY to revisit Title VII and provide training for their employees. SCP has customer service that run the gamut from all backgrounds, but this woman was the rudest I've ever encountered. She was an older white woman, with short black hair, cut in a blunt bob, who looked right through us. Oh, David Yurman, xenophobia is not a good look on you. We wanted to try on rings and bracelets. She kept claiming she did not have what we wanted in her inventory, although we could see that they were in the cases in front of her, plain as day. We obviously had shopping bags with us, duh, we are at a mall, and had just come from some time at Nordstrom and Bloomingdales. Perhaps she assumed we could not afford DY things? Ridiculous, since we were dripping in gems, are repeat customers, and are in their system. We are the ones shopping. You are the one working there. We walked out and were happy to give our business to another location. That rude woman lost 3 customers' commissions. If DY wants to keep customers happy, and if they insist on hiring elders, maybe find some that were active in the civil rights movement, rather than in the Jim Crow movement. read more

The backing of one of my newest earrings fell out, luckily the earring stayed in my ear and didn't loose it. I called the store and the lady who answered the phone was super nice and friendly, she offered to mail me a new backing for my earring. I am not one to grind an ax on Yelp, but when we get ripped off, I think I have the right. My wife loves David Yurman jewelry, and owns a fair number of pieces. As a customer, you can walk in, give them your jewelry, and they will clean it for free. You can even get some water while you wait. All for free. Sounds good right? Well, except when you get home with one less piece than what you had when you walked in. My wife had been in the store often enough that the sales people knew her, and she knew the procedure for handing over her jewelry. Normally, they count out what you give them, they give you a slip of paper with that count, and both parties are then protected. This time around, my wife was rushed and no count was made, no receipt given. When the jewelry was cleaned, my wife was handed the pieces in a rushed manner, and then the manager helping her went to go get three other pieces that had been dropped off for adjustment. She stated that she was missing a piece, but she was rushed out the door and, being a trusting person, my wife didn't let her uneasy feeling stop her there and demand a count. When she got home, she realized that one piece was missing (a $7,000 ring). She called the store and was dismissed again over the phone. At this point, we are looking at our options for recourse, but there may be little we can do about this. My wife feels like someone she trusted took advantage of her and stole from her. Maybe it was an innocent mistake, maybe it was deliberate, but the store is asserting that my wife is flat out wrong, and I don't think she is. At the very least, the store did not seem to be following their own procedures, and they certainly were not listening to the concerns of a long time customer of the brand. So if you go to get your pieces cleaned. Make sure you count them in, get a receipt, and count them out as well. read more

This store, as well as Corporate has single handedly almost ruined my relationship. Having always been a big-time lover of David Yurman, botching a loyal customer such as myself should hurt. Over a year ago, ordered a custom (small size) engagement band. After taking my money in full, they put in the order with an ETA of 3-4 months! Ok, that was painstaking to agree to, but it was the only way to get a small size, since they only stock roughly men's smallest 7to8 size. I bought a size 9, to propose with, and swapped it out for the "order." Fast-track, months go by with no contact. Called in several times and finally found out: quote: "David yurman cannot make your ring because we no longer have the ring manufacturer." It sounded crazy, that's probably more than 50% of their business. I couldn't imagine how a company this large, could fail like that so miserably, and let me down so much. I had a hard time accepting that, and asked what they were going to do with their rings, and was told they didn't know. Note, this was allegedly this store manager. I was able to get a refund check sent to me a couple weeks later, and I assumed their company would close. On a side note, I was barely offered an apology, but after getting someone's hopes up for a wedding band, and waiting months for it, I think I should have gotten a little more than that, because that was MAJOR! Like I don't know, a discount on future purchase, or anything? You would ask, how can a customer expect a discount on something that is never discounted?... I ask right back, how can a company that specializes in rings, almost exclusively, "loose their manufacturer" and cancel an order after 4 months. Now can you imagine my spouse still not having a ring a year later? I'm continually reminded on a daily basis of it. Oddly, we still get countless emails about David Yurman Rings. But also, who would have thought that DAVID YURMAN, does not actually make DAVID YURMAN rings? You don't expect Cartier to be reselling someone else's rings, so why would this company be doing that? What else are you lying about? #SweatShopPractices I have gone back twice, and asked about a custom ring. "Yes of course we can order" they always tell me. Once they take my phone number to call me back after I insist they need to verify it with the company first; they never call back. At least call me back to say you suck, no, nothing, complete ignorance. I just threw away my necklace yesterday. Well actually in an argument domestically about the ring issue, I got mad and chucked it off a hiking trail, but same thing, I'm done with you DY. Now let's be real here. How many affluent Asian customers do you see walking around South Coast Plaza? I also just verified by google, there are a ton of stores throughout Asia. What do you think the percentage of Asian male finger sizes are smaller than size 7? Based on my friends it's 100% size 5-6, but I'd say at least half are that smaller size. First time here and came in for an anniversary gift. They have a notable collection of jewelry for men which is refreshing since most other stores lack that. The staff was really amazing with being able to help me pick the right piece and I felt great about the whole overall experience. I was a bit worried that I'd have to go all Crazy Rich Asians mode when I was making a visit to this location to do an exchange...but surprisingly, I got the opposite treatment of what some of the other reviews were saying about being ignored or looked over. The moment I walked in, I was greeted and assured that someone would be over to assist me. No one was following me around like I was plotting to steal something. Employees were smiling as they passed by. It was nice. My exchange for a smaller sized ring went smoothly as I had called the store earlier in the day to put a reserve on the ring for me to come in later. If you need any type of customer service, I would encourage you to go to a different location. I had $1000 silver bracelet, which is clearly overpriced, which broke. I barely wore it. Although I have had it for a couple of years, it was not Worn. I put it down and it snapped in half. I took it to this location today and the manager argued with me about the quality amd if it had been worn. The fact of the matter is when you pay for expensive luxury goods they would wear well or The company should stand behind the product. Pretty sure I experienced discrimination during my visit today. I forgot the name of the first associate who helped me, but she made me feel very pressured and unwelcomed. I came in dressed casually on my lunch break at work to exchange a Christmas gift. Their exchange policy is that you have to exchange your item for something equal to or greater than the price, no credit back. I asked the associate what items fit into the budget of my item and I just felt as if she didn't want to help me and was rushing me to pick something to exchange it for. Hello I recently went into your south coast plaza, costa mesa, CA store to purchase my wife earrings. It was a Valentine gift. I purchased the earrings from Paige, and come Valentines day, my wife told me she does not wear hoops. Oops, I thought, as she has diamond studs, but I knew I can come back and exchange the item. I came back a few weeks later, just this past weekend, and Paige was busy with another client. Another sales rep approached me (do not remember her name but she had short black hair), and tried to help but we just did not hit it off very well, and she could not figure out what I was looking for that I had thought of purchasing before. It was a 7mm bracelet with the black onyx but the price she was giving me was different. After going back and forth with her a few times, I just asked to refund my last purchase and I will come back a different time (as I had my toddler son with me and he was not feeling well), and I did not have the time to continue trying to explain to her what I was looking for. She made feel very rushed and as if I had no idea what I had seen just a few weeks before, and I did not like that type of energy when I am shopping in a very upscale store. It felt like trying to buy something from Macy's jewelry, and it should not feel that way. So, I was about to get the refund and leave, when Paige happen to be finished with her customer and from remembering rushed right over and knew exactly what I was talking about. She was extremely calm, collected, not rushing me at all, and even went on to explain some other options. She was so professional and easy to talk to that I actually ended up purchasing a higher priced bracelet which she took care of right away, sensing my toddler was not feeling well and we were trying to go as soon as possible. I am writing this email because of the difference in service I received from two people working at the same store, at the same time. To be very honest had I ran into the other person my first time around, I would have probably never purchased even the earrings, as I don't like the "Macy's" sales energy in a store like yours. I am not sure if the other woman judged me based on my clothing that day (as I dressed casually due to the weekend), and my age ( I am 38), but for some reason, I just did not feel the connection and excitement as I felt from Paige. I don't know what position Paige is in, as her card says "Brand Ambassador", but I have taken time out of my busy business schedule to write this long email because she made my experience so memorable that I will be coming back more and more as my wife loves elegant upscale jewelry. You have a great asset working for the company and she would make a great manager or even sales trainer for other employees in the store. She deserves a lot of credit for not being judgemental, being patient and professional, and taking her time while understanding that I was short on time as well. I am the top producer in a financial company of over 200 employees, for over 10 years, and I know talent when I see it, and know how important good talented salespeople are for a company to do well. 50% is the quality and name brand of the items itself, but the other 50% is the experience, and for my wife and I experience is everything, no matter the product. We were coming down to the area to see Pageant of the Masters & while there, I knew I wanted to stop by David Yurman to personally view a certain left-hand ring I had had my eye on Spoke with the store & emailed back & forth a few times. They didn't have the ring in stock but advised they would bring 1 in for me to view.... awesome! So I emailed the specific day & time I would be there & was really excited to see this ring since only the DY Boutiques carry the bridal collection & SF does not have a "flagship" store Turns out they were not prepared for my visit. The person with whom I had been in contact was not in the store at all that day & this other super-nice person was trying to help us out - to no avail She looked all over the place & saw my paperwork in the back but no action had been taken....and for those who know me, I'm a planner so this was not a last min thing. I had been in contact w/ this store ** weeks ** beforehand & I even provided a specific day & time I'd be there, again, ** weeks ** ahead of time, w/ the expectation I'd have a real-life example to view... Lots of apologies from the person in the store & we knew it wasn't her fault, so we agreed to look at their current inventory & talk about similarities & differences in what they had vs the ring I was hoping to see. Found another style I liked a lot & was surprised that it was *so* completely different in real life, from how it was represented in their catalog.....& now I'm *really* interested to see how this other ring looks So we parted ways w/ promises to get a ring in their store, pics taken with the ring on a physical hand, then sent to me (along w/ the other ring style I liked) so I could compare..... 'cause I'm not flying down to LA again only to find out the ring's not there ( again ) Our story ends right at the 2 week mark after my store visit, when I finally get a follow up message asking if I'm still interested in the original ring I wanted to see. Well...sadly no. No I'm not. With zero follow up communication from any of you, we took the hint, continued our search & decided on another direction And you know what? After being forgotten for so long, we were more than happy to take our $$$$ elsewhere. This is by far one of my favorite stores to get jewelry. I know you can go other places to get some of the jewelry for a lot cheaper, but the quality and attention to detail won't be there. I personally like a lot of the necklaces, rings and bracelets. To me this is definitely worth a visit every time they get new inventory. I recommend going online first to see products that you like and then go to the store and see if they carry it. This place gets five stars from me! read more
