I visited David Burks restaurant last Saturday evening at Foxwoods casino, and was expected to have an astounding experience given the name recognition and reputation of the restaurant, but instead came away feeling that the venue didn't live up to it's hype. While I didn't have a terrible experience by any means, it was a disappointing let down, with the menu serving most entrees a la cart, while charging an arm and a leg for everything. I enjoy trying new restaurants, and don't mind spending top dollar for a meal as long as it lives up to a wonderful dining experience, but this time I just felt I was ripped off as the name David Burk was all hype and disappointing delivery. Again, all in all it wasn't terrible by any means but I found the prices were extremely high for everything starting with $ 25 cocktails, and entrees like beef showing prices starting at mid forty dollars but coming with nothing! No vegetable, no potato or rice, so to get those you needed to spend another fifteen dollars to get a baked potato, which to me is a strike against you. My friend ordered a filet and it was brought to the table on a big white plate looking small and lost all alone with little presentation, given it's extreme price! I ordered the surf and turf which was 62 dollares, but I ordered it because at least it came with mashed potatoes and green beans , but I found the mashed potatoes to be overly soupy whipped, and my steak was good but not outstanding as I anticipated it would be, I've enjoyed much better beef at J. Gilbert's in Glastonbury , along with sides that outpace what is served at your place, and for that matter, I ordered a wedge salad that was 19 dollars and it was just ok and doesn't compare to the wedge salad you get at J. Gilbert's which also is at a much cheaper price there. So I am just letting you know that our $270.00 tab ( with tip) just wasn't justified given the underwhelmed satisfaction of the food, I am not going to return, as I am going to keep patronizing J. Gilbert's as I always am impressed by the wonderful food and good portions, always delivering optimally cooked beef and seafood, and superb service , although not inexpensive you are given a wonderful experience, and value for your money. Take this as a positive ctriticism. J. Mahoney North Haven read more

I feel like someone knocked me out with a quality, tender, juicy, well seasoned, fatty and expensive steak. Let me just say that during my family dinner here, I feel like someone punched straight in the head but the food was so good that I kept eating because all these flavors were sorta new to me and nothing could stop me. I don't know what it is but I just had this "feeling" throughout my entire experience, it was like the same feeling I had walking the stage when I graduated high school. I'll get this out of the way now, the service was great. I booked a reservation a couple days before for their busiest hour of the week and I was seated on schedule. Everyone was very friendly, informative and welcoming as well. As we walked out, we didn't get blank "thanks for paying all this money" faces from anyone which surprised me to be honest and I'm glad my experience ended that way. But the food was so good, honestly I've never had a 18oz. 75 Day Dry-aged Rib eye steak before. If I ever have one again, I wish it would just like the one I had here. PERFECTLY cooked, perfect meat to fat ratio, flavors were outstanding, it was just perfect. The most tender rib eye I've ever had in my entire life and I've had my fair share of rib eye. My favorite cut of steak is rib eye and I've been ordering rib eyes since I was only 6 years old, this one was easily the best. To go along with it I had "Whipped Potatoes" which wasn't dense enough to discredit the name, and wasn't milky either, it was just perfect. I also had Brussels Sprouts on the side which were very good as well. I tried someone else's surf and turf special as well. I believe it was rib eye, lobster, sauteed mushrooms and risotto. Even the lobster was the most tender lobster I've ever had in my life! I know that sounds like BS but it was really good! Trust me! The only thing that didn't shine as much as everything else was the appetizer; Surf and Turf Dumplings. They were good but not worth $20, good quality, tasty and different but I feel like I've had better somewhere else. Obviously it's David Burke Prime and everything is going to be expensive but all the other expensive stuff that was ordered was on a very high level so I had to nitpick those dumplings. Good but not very good dumplings can't stop a 5-Star review though. Oh almost forgot, the bread they serve to start you off is a Popover, so good. And I also had a cappuccino and a piece of a lava cake which was also great. I informed them the occasion was an anniversary when I placed my reservation a day or 2 prior and without bringing it up at all after that, they still remembered and wrote "Happy Anniversary" on the plate when serving dessert as well as greeting it after we left. Very professional and organized, didn't have to babysit to make sure things go as planned which is great. Very happy with everything, if you come here then don't worry about the price because if you chose David Burke Prime for dinner 1. You know what you got yourself into and wouldn't have chosen to eat here if you cannot afford it and 2. Everything at least from what I had, is good. Extremely pleased I didn't get any sign of their 3.5 Star Yelp Rating during my visit, nothing but excellence and great food. read more

John is a great bartender, great espresso martini! Food and atmosphere are great, will be back for sure!

if I'm a table of six or eight and we ordered a lot of different items and one is incorrect so 24 items are ordered and one is not right this is one person ordering four things and 50% are wrong. But actually it's more because I got a paper napkin while everybody else has a linen napkin. So this individual is very polite he says look I remember you from the week before I'm sorry I apologize it's like I don't want your apology I don't come here for an apology I want things done just as everybody else is receiving them I sent quite frankly she should be fired. He tells me well she's still learning she's new and my responses it's Saturday night you don't put a trainee behind the bar to take orders from people when they have no idea what they're doing I said I own a business it was much smaller than what David Burke has for his empire but we had hundreds of employees I said and this is very poor what is being received by myself at this time. I started to eat in a few minutes later I'm greeted from behind me from another individual who's the manager of the restaurant. Well this sure is awkward because now everybody's looking at me like I'm the bad person I'm the customer last time I remembered I'm the one that's paying you for service if you don't understand that's the business that you are in as the service business. So the manager tells me I'm sorry what's wrong I'm like look this is what I ordered I didn't get half of it and look I got a paper napkin I said this is absurd I said what I'm wearing a t-shirt so I get treated like a bum. I said I'm not asking for anything that anybody else doesn't receive but I get ignored I said in I told the other bartender I said that woman behind the bar should be fired because she's incompetent. He was polite he says I apologize and will take care of your tab. What he doesn't understand and what people don't seem to get in today's society people don't go to restaurants and expect something for free they want the level of service to be outstanding they want the food to be outstanding they want the experience to be outstanding. I don't want something for free and I explained to him I don't want anything for free I can pay my way in life but there's no reason that I should be treated less than anybody else in here because I'm wearing a t-shirt. So we requested my napkin my paper napkin and I gave it to him and he walked away. I requested a cappuccino and an item off the dessert menu. The cappuccino is a few minutes in the making and then a girl behind the bar says we had to change the milk I don't know what that means but whatever. the dessert shows up the cappuccino shows up the cappuccinos and a coffee cup it's cold and it's I would describe it as watered down cold coffee it was not cappuccino. After dessert I asked the gentleman behind the bar for my tab he says you know the manager wants to take care of it and I said look I don't want anything for free I want it done right I said and you need to let him know people have money in this world and because they don't dress like other people doesn't mean they should be treated any lesser or the service should be at a lower standard I said to let him know these things. So while I was offered everything for free I paid for everything and left a tip. So I'm spending my time writing this review so that others understand that incompetence at a high level restaurant is not acceptable and if people are not trained to deliver outstanding service then they need to be fired read more

I recently had dinner here with my brother and son...they have a kids menu. We started with the smoking cold shellfish appetizer. The scallop ceviche was a pleasant surprise. We split the porterhouse for two. Very good steak. Creamed spinach and asparagus were solid, very tasty. The Brussels sprouts were just ok. My son enjoyed his chicken tenders and fries. Disappointed they didn't have Pappy Van Winkle. I found it amusing that they charged us for seltzer water. Really? When you are charging $150 for a porterhouse and $70 for a shellfish appetizer, do you really need to charge folks for seltzer water? Silly. read more

Beautiful restaurant at Foxwoods Casino. I stopped in for lunch on Saturday and it wasn't too busy, about two tables and a few people at the bar. I will admit they are a bit pricey but it is considered fine dining at the casino. I was greeted immediately by the bartender offered a food and drink menu. They only serve dinner on the weekends and have 3 items from the lunch menu as specials. I ordered the wedge salad with the bacon. The bacon is very thick and a must for an add on, delicious. The meal I order was one of the three specials, the cheeseburger. I definitely recommend and would get that again. This restaurant is definitely a treat yourself location read more

What a disappointment, whether or not you consider the high prices. We ordered the bacon, a petite filet cooked medium, the salmon, and the Mac and cheese with beef short ribs. I didn't like the flavor of the bacon, the smoky flavor was wrong. My filet was a lot closer to rare than medium, but I could eat it. The Bernaise sauce was good. His salmon was raw in the middle. I also didn't like the Mac and cheese, too much blue cheese flavor and not enough cheddar. The service was excellent. And they did not charge for the salmon, even though he ate more than half of it. read more

Little getaway for the weekend with SO. We started off with dinner here. We were 20 mins late for our reservation. I called in she the hostess were very nice. We showed up and hostess was super nice and accommodating. I had berry martini and it was worth every penny. You truly get what you pay for here. As a bartender, i would say it was very tasty in such a good way. Very clean! Not too sweet not too tangy. SO had an old fashion and it was the best old fashion i have ever had! But unfortunately the cocktails were inconsistent because the second one he had wasnt that great. We started off with oysters from RI and they were tasty. I had the classic cut prime rib and he had scallops. My prime rib was cooked perfectly the way i asked for and was very tasty. He liked his scallops more than i did. It was sear perfectly, i asked for asparagus instead of peas and carrots and the asparagus were grilled nicely. But the sauce was a bit too sweet for my liking. From the cocktails to the service to the food. Everything were made with lots of love ans you can really experience it here. We both agreed that we very much enjoyed dinner and will come back again. He said one of his highlight from our weekend was dinner here!! Brownie points!!! read more

On 10/18 during the lunch service, we had a server named Haley. We have been to this restaurant many times, and no disrespect to all of the others who have served us in the past, but she was the best! She was the most attentive, friendly, and personable server we ever had ANYWHERE. She made us feel appreciated, we felt she loved her job and so was eager to make our dining experience great and she did. The meal was good as usual, but the whole experience was made better by Haley. We think it's important to give credit where it is due... Don't lose this one, we will be back soon! read more

Reservation 630: seated 635 Waiter showed up at approx. 640 Got our drinks for the kids and us at 645ish. Ordered appetizers and received them at 7ish. Ordered our meal at 710ish. Got our main course around 8. Waiter kept saying the kitchen is backed up, meanwhile, 3 tables around us ordered their food after us and received it before us. Waiter missed getting 2 drinks of mine a another soda for the kid. (Forgot?) Smaller steak was great (18oz), the steak for 2 (the wife and I) was bland and had little to no flavor. Short rib meal was alright. Potatoes were bland, Mac and cheese was excellent. Left with a hefty bill and wasn't overall impressed. At the end, we sat there for 27min waiting on the bill. #torn read more

Good food, service so so. We ordered Ceasers Salads, they were served on small dishes with no room to mix salad. Popovers given were on the money. I order Prime Rib with a baked potatoe, which was medium rare drowning in juice so much that it was hard to cut without juices splattering, so that was a challenge. My husband ordered the 55 day Rib Eye, n good, but Callaio steakhouse is so much better. The Mac n Cheese with bacon side dish we ordered was dry with not much flavor. Our service on the other hand was very lacked and I honestly believe that really left a very bad impression on us, especially for our first visit. We will retry again to see if they can redeem themselves and praying it will be a better experience. read more

A couple of our friends just got married and we met them at Foxwoods to have a lil' celebration! David Burke Prime is the place they chose so here we are! I was anxious to try out David Burke's Kitchen in New York City, but this will do for now until I can make it down there! Atmosphere/Appearance: Of course this place is super elegant! It's a steakhouse and a good one at that. It's inside the Foxwoods Casino so of course there's a free private parking garage, but you'll have to walk quite a ways to get here. The exterior of the restaurant only says "PRIME STEAKHOUSE" in backlit letters. I was expecting to see David's name, but no matter. The outside isn't very big, but once inside the restaurant it expands and opens up to a very large space. The bar area is right up front and then the dining tables along with booths are spread throughout the establishment. There is a golden glow throughout that is really calming. Everything about this place screams high-quality. Happy hour is from 4:00pm to 5:30pm Monday through Friday, 3:00pm to 6:00pm on Saturday and all day long Sunday. Service: Chad took excellent care of us. He was straightforward, knowledgeable and made the best drinks! We were well taken care of for sure. Food: So I started off with the happy hour Manhattan. It's made up of Four Roses bourbon, sweet vermouth and bitters. It was so strong, yet delicious. I had several of those. Then came the complimentary bread. I don't even know how to describe it to you. It's like a GIANT super airy, super fluffy muffin that isn't too sweet, but so savory. It was fantastic. I think I had 2 of those. Lol. Next up was the Dry-Aged Meatballs that are made up of herbs, ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, roasted garlic and served with slim pieces of toast. These were very, very good, but the portion was smaller than I expected. Lastly were the Dry-Age Saltbrick Beef Sliders. They are served with Moroccan sauce, American cheese, cornichon and cherry tomatoes. They were fantastic and due to the bread, a bit more filling than the meatballs. The food here is fantastic and I didn't even have an entree. I can't wait to try more of the menu. Value: Well... it's a steakhouse. So bring your big wallet, even for happy hour. My Manhattans were $9.00 a piece, but worth it for the quality, taste and strength of them. The meatballs were $7.00, but you get this giant decorative plate with a little hole in the middle for like, 2 balls of meat and all the sauce. Okay value I guess, but I'd need a lot more to feel some sort of satisfaction. The sliders were $9.00 and you get 2 which were quite filling. So you get what you pay for here, which is the GOOD STUFF. In conclusion I have to come back here to enjoy more of the happy hour and to explore some of the entrees on the main menu. I loved my time here for sure. read more

One of the best dinners I've ever had in my entire life. My friend and I shared all of the appetizers, entrees and sides that we ordered. We both agreed that everything was OUTSTANDING! I went into this meal with very high expectations, and my expectations were exceeded. We started with the Wedge Salad and Beef Carpaccio. The salad was simple and delicious with a fantastic blue cheese dressing. The Beef Carpaccio, however, may be the best thing I've ever eaten in my life! The beef itself was incredibly flavorful; the simple greens and very light sauce were the perfect compliment to not overshadow the beef. For dinner, we had the 30-day Dry-aged Ribeye and the Scallops. The ribeye was the best ribeye I've ever had no question; the crust was amazing without being burnt at all and the inside was cooked to medium-rare perfection. The most impressive thing about the ribeye was the depth of flavor. We purposely did not order any sauce because we wanted the ribeye to shine on its own and, boy, it sure did! Every bite had about 7 levels of flavor. The scallops were great too, cooked perfectly and served with what I would describe as a fresh corn/red pepper slaw. For sides, we had Chive Mashed Potatoes (just as good as Mom's and Grandma's and that is really saying something) and Roasted Asparagus with a reduced balsamic. Asparagus was great; balsamic added just a touch of sweetness which nicely contradicted the mashed potatoes and ribeye. This was truly one of the best meals of my life. The carpaccio stole the entire show for me. I could eat that every day! read more

We had dinner here on Christmas day and the food was spectacular. The 55 day aged ribeye was to die for!

My friends and I decided to grab dinner here after a evening of gambling at the casino. We opted to get the $65 Prix Fixe option because it seemed pretty worth it. For entrees we all shared the prime rib, short rib, pork chop. The short rib was tender and juicy, pork chop was a bit dry but well seasoned and I was underwhelmed with the prime rib (there was a ton of fat and it was not flavored well). For appetizer we all got the clams casino, it's a variation of a baked clam with lemon. It was super tasty and my favorite. I highly recommend getting the bacon, it was juicy; tender and had aromatics accompanying the dish. I'm so glad we ordered two sets of 3 strips each. Dessert we tried the creme brûlée and the cheese cake. The creme brûlée was cold and normally the glazed layer is suppose to be at least warm but the entire dish was cold, it was still tasty though. The cheesecake was too sweet and I did not like it. We also got a complimentary cotton candy dish which was nice! Overall; service was decent and I have no complaints. I took off a star because they try to get you to upgrade your entrees and appetizers, we had additional surcharges on our bill that we were unaware of. However, they removed it after we brought it up. read more

So let's be real... If I'm dropping $600 in dinner I expect a damn good steak. This was not the case here. Don't get me wrong the steak was fine but it's not going to knock your socks off. We had multiple fillet mignons and even tried their patented dry age steaks. Just didn't feel like super high quality. I could have cooked this quality steak at home. The service was fast and everyone was supper nice and the sides and appetizers were delicious which is why they still get 3 stars. Sad but true #SteakSnob #WhoEvenCares read more

Steaks are perfectly seasoned and cooked using their patented method. Wagyu ribeye for $250 needs to be shared, or else you will be in pain for two days due to the fat content. However, the flavor is great and worth trying once. Their traditional aged steaks are their best value. However, we can't deny the marbling of these wagyu steaks. I had the server let me take a picture of the steak I was eating before it was cooked along with a certificate showing where it was imported. This is the real deal. The ambiance is fantastic, and it makes David Burke Prime the place to be. Also, to note - this and its neighbor location are easily the best places to drink in all of Foxwoods with consistent open bar seating. read more

We came here because of the good things we had heard about this place. I wouldn't recommend it after our experience. It was a Sunday night about 7. Not busy at all. Just a few tables had people dining. Our server was nice enough at first after taking the drink orders and some apps. We got onion rings and the burrata, which were not too bad. Before we had a chance to take a sip of our drinks or taste an app the server was already asking what we wanted for dinner. We felt very, very rushed. I would have not been so annoyed but we had been there all of 20 minutes. So we order, both got the 18 ounce 30 day aged ribeye, medium rare with whipped potatoes and garlicky spinach. The steak was medium at best and not very good. Coming to a steak house and paying $68 each you would think it would be the best piece of steak you've ever had. As soon as we were "done" the server was pushing desserts. Clearly he wanted us gone, or to leave himself. We had been there about 45 minutes at this time. I would have had another drink but didn't feel very welcomed to do so. Almost $400 with tip later, we won't be back. Do yourself a favor and pick another spot to eat. read more

The food is great. The service is not so great. They aren't prepared to handle busy nights--ever. The popovers to start are fantastic, provided they remember to bring you one, or if you ask six times. The wedge is a great starter. The steaks take forever and they do an awful job of expectation setting if you are there before an event. The manager does an ever worse job of making situations right when they do go wrong. He offered to charge me for a steak that I could come back and have 3 hours later. I politely declined and said I would just pay for it in 3 hours if I wanted it. He did nothing else. I've had 2 good experience here and 2 bad. Similar to my experience on the roulette tables upstairs. read more

Overall dining experience was somewhat lackluster or disappointing. The wedge salad was okay. The popover was salty tasting to my boyfriend. Personally, I would prefer bread. Too heavy with the rest of meal. The filet mignon was tender and was cooked as ordered. The sauce which was $6. was salty and not great. The mashed potatoes were an additional $14. The service was subpar. The waiter never asked us once how everything was. The atmosphere was good...seats were very comfortable. Yet, for $200, not worth it all around. read more

Went here before a concert, & we had reservations. When we first walked in it was as if we were "out of place" & 1 of our waiters didn't really make it any better. He was very short & seemed to be interested in helping tables whom didn't look like ours. However, christy picked up where he lacked and was a lot more attentive and friendly. I ordered the raw oysters, they were perfect sized and tasted great. The crab cake was mainly some rough breading, DEEP fried, and thrown on top of this god awful sauce. I tasted more "filler" than anything in my one bite of crab cake. Their popovers were a replacement because I was starving. They had a special for $95 with filet mignon & a lobster tail along with mashed potatoes (I requested instead of side it came with) and broccoli. The lobster tail was ridiculously small, and had no flavor other than maybe ocean. The steak I asked for medium and it was medium well. The mashed potatoes tasted like they came from a box. My sister enjoyed the scallops & the red sangria very much. Also the apple crisp was AMAZING! My other sister ordered the chicken and it was still on the plate when it was time to pay. I had to request a manager at 815 because we had not received our food, and our concert was schedule for 8pm. Realistically we knew we may be late, but upon seating we advised the waiter of the concert time and told us we would be fine. Actually at 752 he walked by and said it would be right out, and was not. The manager did remove the crab cake and offer a discount for the inconvenience but I was really hoping for a better experience. He was super nice and apologetic, which we appreciated. Satisfactory food with high prices. Typical casino food I guess. read more

I should have read the yelp reviews before I tried this place. The 55 day dry-aged ribeye was a joke. In addition, the cook on the steak was inconsistent. Service and atmosphere were acceptable. The so called "patented process" is just marketing. It yielded none of the typical characteristics of a good dry-aged steak. read more

This was our first time there and I can say, had it not been for us always calling on the bar staff to wait on us our service would have been non-existent. Food was alright, par at best. I've had much better meals for a forth of the price. Again, it was good not great for a David Burke restaurant. I've eaten at his Chicago restaurant and this (Foxwoods location) was a completely different experience. This night was disappointing to say the least. Don't think I would go back anytime soon. What a fantastic restaurant. My daughter and her gf brought me there for Mother's Day Dinner. The day before. It's a very comfortable and classy vibe. The waitstaff is very knowledgeable of their product ( and skilled at the upsell) Lol Courteous and friendly they are very attentive to your every need. The food was delicious We had: Cocktails! Lol You are served enormous hot popovers in lieu of bread. The Wagyu aged filet which melted in your mouth The 40 day aged filet ( my daughter not a fan of shrimp requested/ for anupcharge/ the crab legs) My bf and I had the 40 day aged Ribeye which came with a split lobster tail. Risotto and broccoli n cheese. Omg yum!! For dessert I had the key lime tart. It's enough for three. At the end of the meal they bring you a cotton candy on a cone. First-timers at this restaurant (and it was our first dinner of our staycation at Foxwoods) - we had high expectations of this restaurant because of the price tag and it was even better than we'd hoped. We were greeted and seated immediately. We were seated near the kitchen door which at first made us nervous, but was actually great as each server was very kind and friendly as they passed by. Plus, we got to watch all the fun menu items run out of the kitchen which informed our own choices. The popover bread they brought while we looked over the menu was so unique and delicious. We enjoyed two great cocktails with oysters as an appetizer and all met our expectations of fine dining. We both ordered aged steaks for dinner (the chef's recommended KC sirloin) and they really were incredible. The sides (whipped potatoes with chives, and garlicky baby spinach) also hit the spot. Our server made a great recommendation about what sauce to pair with the steak, and saved us money by pointing out that we could easily share one sauce. :) All the staff was so kind and helpful, they gave us wonderful recommendations and really guided us through a relaxing and memorable dinner! We utilized the Sommelier too and he nailed it - his recommendation paired incredibly with our meal and he found something that was close to our comfort zone but a little different. It was great to try something new and be so pleasantly surprised. Dessert was delectable - we tried the tiramisu which was a perfect size for 2 to share, and our severs brought over a whimsical cotton candy to top it off. So fun! We always loved coming here, sadly it's not was it used to be. Everything was out of whack last night, appetizers came out before bread and drinks. Drinks were wrong, bacon over cooked. Service was incredibly slow- we noticed several tables around us upset and complaining too. Tuna tartare was fishy and sent back- strip steak over done and gray... we had requested medium rare . This place has gone down the tubes and has gotten progressively worse . We went for lunch. We asked for French onion soup. We also ordered a the French dip and a Caesar salad. The main course arrives and the soup is forgotten....they take back the food to get the soup. The meal comes back and is soggy and the meat tastes so old almost like it was spoiled .....we never said a thing and sucked it up to we will never be back! The bill comes and they had the balls to charge $37.00 for two small bowls of soup! Almost as much as a filet mignon! The soup sucked and had no broth in it either. I finally called the manager to inquire about the soup charge and decided to take off the bill . Very disappointing . The other table next to us sent their drinks back three times and also their meal. Too bad this place used to be great! read more

Really enjoyed the food! I had the 30-day aged steak and shared the Brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes and Caesar salad. They also gave us a green apple cotton candy on the house at the end which was fun and delicious. Not cheap and the interior feels like a hotel restaurant but the food and service made it worth while. read more
