I came back again because my kids like the spicy chicken, I don't like their chicken it's so salty but I was disgusted and disappointed this establishment is asking a tip ? WTF ! The percentage is like your in the restaurant. No option not to give. I understand this staff are underpaid but why the customers are obligated to tip ? What's the difference between McDonald's, in and out, Arby's and other same service but they are not asking for tips. Me and my husband's first time at Dave's Hot Chicken and our experience was underwhelming. The portion sizes were big and the chicken itself was very tender, juicy, and crunchy but the flavors were not there even when I dipped it in ranch. And the ranch is an additional cost of $1.49. The powdered seasoning that the chicken and fries are coated in is not that great and makes for a weird texture experience. Not bad just not good either. The orange sauce is sweet so you are getting a "sweet and savory experience" but didn't work for me. I tried the chicken and honey (not my vibe) but some may like it! Lastly, fries were crunchy and airy but tasted just like the chicken because of that powder seasoning. I enjoy spicy food and I did eat the whole slider, but it had to be consumed in sections at 2 different sittings. The reaper would be a fun timed bet/challenge with friends. Maybe recreate "hot one's" and ask difficult questions while the heat is building? By the time I found a private place to make love to the delicious food prepared by the friendly employees of Dave's, the fries were soggy. But I snagged a few from the bag on the drive and they were good when fresh. I can't blame them for this, the fries were hot and fresh when served. Not a bad first experience. Next time I'll get the hot and the one below reaper (extra hot?). Did I mention the employees were friendly? Place was mostly clean, especially considering foot traffic. I had Kari B take my order and she was super nice and chill. I ended up coming back to place a second order, and while I was waiting for her to finish helping other customers, a heavy-set lady came out and started correcting Kari loudly in front of myself and about four other people. Honestly, she could've easily pulled Kari aside in the back to talk to her instead of calling her out in front of customers. If Kari was still training or unsure about something, I feel it would've been more appropriate and professional to handle that privately and with a better tone. This location is the best! Ruben was so awesome, we had a huge order and a group of 10 people, yet he maintained patient and was very helpful. For us ordering so much food they made it in a timely manner and it was so fresh. They didn't get one thing wrong. Solid place overall but if you're looking for the typical Nashville-style hot chicken, it's a little different since the only chicken offerings come in chicken tender form (either tender vs tender in a slider) instead of a choice of breast, thigh, or wing pieces. There are different combos to choose from which come with pickles, a side of fries, piece of toast, and Dave's sauce. After driving by a few times in the weeks after their opening, we finally found a time when the line wasn't completely out the door and got our food within 30 minutes. The chicken is tasty overall and isn't dry at all. We tried the tenders combo and the 1 tender and 1 slider combo. The mild and medium heat levels were just right for us, and the pickles and creaminess of Dave's sauce helped balance the spices. The slider comes with a slaw which adds a freshness to the sandwich. Since they're fairly new, there are a few kinks I think they're working still out in terms of managing lines and orders - we ordered online another time and it took about an hour to get our food, but hope that things will settle out as they get into the swing of things because the chicken is pretty delicious. read more

I ordered the #1 which was two tenders with fries, it felt a little pricey at over $13 after tax for a meal that came with a very small portion of fries and no drink. You can select your spice level which includes no spice, lite mild, mild, medium, hot, extra hot, and reaper (this last one you have to sign a waver for). I decided to go with the medium spice, but to me it did not taste spicy at all. Flavor was pretty good but overall the chicken was just greasy, kind of a bummer. Their team was friendly and fast. They just opened so it was really busy, definitely anticipate a wait. I think it also would be better if they had a drive through, but interestingly enough they don't. The chicken is juicy and crispy, the slaw is OK, pickles are good, and they give you extra sauce. It was $17 for two sliders (no drink, 20% tip). Eating these like a hotdog is the best way to do it, because of how the chicken is shaped, but you don't get everything each bite. I think I could go up to extra hot next time. I love the customizable spice levels, and I typically get a Mild but I've noticed that their Mild appears to vary a bit. Not sure if there is a way to consistency measure the spice levels, because I'd like to try the Medium again but it was quite spicy last time and the Mild seems less spicy from time to time. What I would really love is a Spice Sampler box of some sort where we can order tenders from multiple spice levels to compare. Please make this an option!!! read more
