We had many of the food items on the menu, and they were all really good. The chicken in the Chicken Kebab (Shish Tawook) Plate was so tender! The Chicken Shawarma was very tasty, and the "Platter" on the appetizer menu makes a great vegetarian Mediterranean meal with all the goodies, which were all really good. The Mediterranean Salad is very good for a lighter meal. The House Rice and sauces were great additions. read more

Are you freaking kidding me??? Ordered and paid online for takeout and then was sent away with no food and denied a refund! I placed an online order for takeout at about 7pm. I was charged, given a confirmation number, and a pickup time of 7:37pm. When I arrived just after 7:30pm for my takeout, the employee came to the window and told me that they closed early and aren't doing anymore orders. When I showed him my confirmation email receipt he told me it doesn't matter and that I needed to go home. When I explained that I already paid and asked for a refund he flat out said no and that it's not his problem. When I pressed further for an explanation to why their website would take an order if they're closed and demanded a refund, he pretended not to understand me anymore and told me to leave. Caravan Grill is open until 8pm, this can be confirmed on Google and the hours posted on their door. I'm beyond frustrated that they would take my order, charge my card, and send me a confirmation email with a pickup time only to close early. Additionally, how can you charge me and then not provide the service I paid for and deny me a refund? Lastly, why the rude attitude with me like I'm at fault for ordering food. Hands down the BEST falafel in Tucson. Seriously. Do yourself (and your taste buds) a favor and come experience this flavor explosion. The falafel is crispy perfection on the outside, soft and herby inside -- absolutely to die for. The hummus is silky, the baba ganoush has that rich smoky depth, and everything tastes incredibly fresh. This spot feels wildly underrated. It's small and casual, not fancy at all, but the food coming out of this kitchen is straight up divine. Service is fast, portions are generous, and they even have a drive-thru if you don't feel like getting out of your car (plus indoor and outdoor seating). You will never have a salad like this. Diced ripe tomato, slices of onion, Persian cucumber, chunks and crumbles of cheese, flavorful olives, herbs and sumac on top of hand chopped romaine. Then the chicken. It is poetry for the mouth. Silky spice robed chunks of moist skewered and barbecued meat, lavishly spread over the salad. The dressing is perfect as is the toumi. The falafel here is very well spiced and flavorful with enough herbs, coriander, cumin etc which I often find are lacking in other restaurants' falafel options in Tucson. It is served a little differently than I am used to (which makes sense given falafel is eaten in many countries and there are many variations and different ways it is served ) but since the falafel itself is very flavorful it hits the spot for me. The food here does seem to vary a little from time to time and once in a while I like it a little less but overall it's definitely by far my favorite falafel locally outside of home. Sometimes I like to get just the falafel balls and freeze some. They heat perfectly in the air-frier and on busy days I eat them with my favorite pita (by Angel Bakery -sold locally only at Whole Foods. I freeze the pitas and warm them up by steaming them) and my own toppings. I also liked their combo plate with falafel, baba ganouch and stuffed grape leaves (the filling was moist enough here when I tried them) It's a simple counter service place with a few tables inside and a few outdoor picnic tables. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! Kinda a fast food place with a few dine in tables and a drive thru. Reasonable prices for the wraps. The plates are typical of restaurant entrees prices but served in a styrofoam box for dine in option. The meats were seasoned decently. It wasn't bad food- it's just that I feel with so many options in the area the dishes didn't stand out to me. It seems to be a busy spot with non stop orders even post the lunch rush. Would I go grab a gyro there if that was the closest place and I was hungry- sure. Would I drive specifically there if I was craving a gyro or kebab - likely not. We've primarily ordered Caravan Grill through DoorDash and have never been disappointed, but finally made it in-person for lunch and confirmed the deliciousness. The food is so flavorful - well-marinated meat dishes and light salads with a well-balanced dressing. Our favorites are the shish tawook (the grill on the kebab adds a nice char) plate which comes with rice, salad, and vegetable stew, and their shawarma sandwiches (my husband's favorite is the lamb) which you can turn into a combo for seasoned fries and a drink. I was out looking for dinner one evening and ran across Caravan Grill. It's a small place with a real family owned feel. We ordered the falafel plate and a falafel sandwich with fries. The falafel was really good, nice and crispy on the outside and full of flavor. The plate came with a salad and hummus, both were delicious but you can really taste the authenticity in the hummus. The sandwich was really good too, I wasn't sure if I'd like a falafel sandwich but it was great. They break the falafel up so it's easy to eat but still has texture. Since that night I've been back quite a few times and I will say that I've really grown to love this little restaurant. Small little place which if you drive by too quickly will likely miss. I decided to go to it based off of its previous reviews and let me tell you I was not disappointed! I got the chicken kebab plate and the chicken was so tender and beautifully marinated. I don't even know how to put it into words! The salad and the salad dressing that accompanied the kebab plate was also phenomenal. The hummus however, as well as the garlic sauce was a little bit disappointing, but it could just be the way it is made in Libya, which is different than what I'm used to their service was also fantastic. Great customer service and food. Ordered my food through the Uber Eats app. DoorDash didn't have the food selection I wanted. I have a relative who eats here pretty regularly. They have dine in (5 tables), an open kitchen, and a drive thru option. The staff is super friendly. Definitely a ma and pa kind of restaurant, so you know it's gonna be good. They serve halal meat! We had their Chicken kabab (Shish tawoog) Salad. It was delicious. The chicken was the best part. The chicken was grilled, had the perfect grill like taste. The salad had kalamata olives, feta, white onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, romaine lettuce, little parsley, and two sides: dressing and like a yogurt dip. The Uber eats app didn't specify if the dish was a salad so they accidentally served the plate which is with rice. They kindly exchanged it. I believe they have a market next door, since it is the same name. Their fries look so good, I want to try it next! Note: DoorDash doesn't have the dish I ordered, so I had to order it from Uber Eats. This was my first visit to Caravan, and I quite liked it! I really appreciate that they're doing takeout service through a drive-through window, which made my pick-up experience super quick and easy. I got a chicken shawarma wrap and stuffed grape leaves, both of which were very good. The grape leaves are stuffed with seasoned rice, and had an acidic brightness that I enjoyed. They also weren't too oily, which can sometimes be a problem with stuffed grape leaves. The shawarma was quite big -- I actually only ate half, and saved the other half for a second lunch the next day! The chicken was good, as was the sauce in the wrap. Went here to find a suitable alternative to kebab king at the Tucson mall. The place is small and can only fit a handful of diners. When I arrived, I decided to use their drive-thru, which is an excellent feature. I ordered their gyro and was impressed with the size. The gyro was packed with juicy and well-seasoned meat. Also, I enjoyed the vegetables and sauce that added a nice balance to the savory meat. The daughter got the lamb shawarma plate. Generous portion of lamb, perfectly seasoned and prepared. It' s served over rice, with a side of a nice crisp green salad and a vegetable stew. The husband got the falafel plate. They are amazing. Nice crunchy exterior with a soft flavorful inside. Little larger than golf balls. Great dipping sauce. Served with hummus, salad and pita. I got the shish tawook sandwich. It's huge (I'll be having two meals out of it), served in an oversized tortilla and crammed with the chicken, onions, tomatoes and pickles. The shawarma sandwich comes in a stretchy tortilla, not pita bread. The outside is grilled, but the tortilla wrapped on the inside is close to raw. Ridiculous. I got a refund. read more
