We just moved to the Tucson area and loved this find! The food was delicious, the drinks were great and reasonably priced, and our service was excellent. We were the last table of the night, but our waiter, Brian James, didn't make us feel rushed at all and offered great recommendations. We really enjoyed our experience here and plan to return soon! read more

Really enjoyed our evening at Figs! Everything was delicious. The whipped feta was to die for and easily the highlight of the meal. We shared the Yard Bird piccata and the Armada pizza with meatballs and burrata--both so good. The chicken could've used a touch more salt, but the flavorful fettuccine balanced it perfectly. We finished with espresso martinis and the tableside tiramisu--chef's kiss! I planned on saving my leftovers, but came home and finished the whipped feta. That says it all. We'll definitely be back! read more

We recently tried this restaurant and had a pretty mixed experience. Our server was amazing when we first arrived very attentive, and our glasses stayed full until our food came out. Unfortunately, once we received our food, he kind of disappeared. We didn't see him again and had a hard time tracking someone down when we were ready for the check, which was disappointing after such a great start. The food definitely has a Mediterranean feel throughout much of the menu. We tried the margarita pizza, and unfortunately, it had basically no cheese. It was mostly sauce and basil, so that would probably be a pass for us if we came back. The chicken had a definite kick to it, but the overall flavor was good. I really enjoyed the gnocchi it was delicious but VERY rich. I couldn't eat much of it and ended up saving the rest for the next day. It reheated well, but it was still quite oily. They do have a decent happy hour, and the half-off bottles of wine on Wednesdays are a great special. Overall, we enjoyed parts of the meal, but I left feeling like I wasn't overly excited to come back. There are definitely some things worth trying, but for us, it wasn't a standout experience. read more

I checked out Figs twice this month with friends and I found it to be a cozy spot with good fresh food. They have a wood fired oven although I didn't try the pizza. The first time I went I got the Ahi salad which was divine!! I would get it again. The second time I got the home made pasta dish, it was ok. I know fresh pasta is hard to make but I felt like it was a tad thick and honestly, not enough of it!! I love a big bowl of pasta so I probably wouldn't order that again. The staff was kind but sitting outs definitely felt slightly less attentive as the time I sat inside. This is a cute spot with quality ingredients and a great place to share a bottle of wine with friends. read more

Wow what a great restaurant the staff were very friendly and helpful with suggestions, and the inside is really designed beautifully. We had the Scallops and Branzino and both were absolutely amazing. We started with the artisan bread and pecan butter, a pistachio espresso martini and a glass of Spanish wine. Yummmm. My new favorite espresso martini. The scallops and the fresh screwed veggies were amazing, and so was the fish. We will be back. read more

Restaurant is decorated cutely and the bathrooms were clean. The food was good, especially the pizza. Pizza is a perfect size to share for 2. Fig's innovative menu shines! While there are plenty of Italian classics here, the offerings span a wide range of flavors from across the Mediterranean region, highlighting harissa, za'atar, tahini, Meyer lemon, Iberico meat, and more. The servings are plentiful, well plated, and easy to share -- including the must-do halloumi fries -- and I'm eager to come back for weekend brunch, to try the shakshuka. The sweet-potato gnocchi and limoncello mascarpone cake were highlights as well, and we enjoyed the strong happy-hour discounts on apps and the bar menu. (Check out the many weekday specials/bargains too.) Service was top-notch, and the restaurant is spacious and yet intimate and inviting, with welcoming staff, calm lighting, and smooth ambience, from the large bar and patio to the open-view pizza kitchen. A new neighborhood favorite on the eastside! read more

Staff is nice. Ambiance is interesting with just a few changes in terms of wall decor since it was Zona. The best dish we had was the whipped feta appetizer for $14. It was excellent. We also were there for the Saturday brunch and my husband had the chicken Shawarma with a salad ($13). Both were good, but just average. The brunch menu has excellent prices. I had the crusted tuna salad which came with a lot of greens and a nice serving of ahi tuna, it was a little overcooked for me but good. The salad needed a different dressing than just Italian to complement the tuna. The salad also had a lot of little crispy fried tortilla like bits that were bland. Overall, a good lunch, large servings and nice service. read more

I don't know why the chef decided to mess with perfection but as a result I had a crappie experience last night. I ordered lamb chops and this time they were breaded in a think layer of spices and what seemed to be bread crumbs. I asked for them to be medium but they came cooked all the way through and chewy. The mashed potatoes looked like they were sitting out for a while. The combination did not taste good. I ordered lamb chops twice before and they were juicy and went perfectly in combination with chimichuri. read more

I've now tried Figs three times, and unfortunately I have to concede that no trace of my prior favorite neighborhood place (Zona78) remains. While the food was decent on my second visit, Sunday lunch today confirms that was a fluke. Service was decent but not amazing. And unfortunately the dark floral wallpaper that had been applied liberally throughout the venue is already peeling and bubbling, giving the space a decrepit look. They've also added some tacky art to the bathrooms, which detracts from the ambience further. The wine I ordered (a Sav blanc by the glass) was fine but not great. Sadly, it was amazing compared to the food. I had the Ragu Bolognese with gluten free pasta. I never expect much from gf pasta (though Zona's was excellent) but this was painfully overcooked, and total mush. And sadly, the sauce was incredibly salty. The first bites I had, with the whipped ricotta to tone down the salt were passable. But once that was gone, the dish quickly became inedible and I quit eating long before I was full, with over half the entree remaining. My lunch partner's food, the Za'atar Crusted Lamb Lollipops was slightly better. The mashed potatoes, broccolini, and mint chimichurri were all pleasant. The Za'atar crust was far too thick, and wet/gummy. The server didn't ask how the lamb should be cooked and it came out well done- lamb like this should generally be medium rare. We attempted the limoncello mascarpone cake for dessert, after the server raved about their desserts, explaining one of the owners was a pastry chef. I sincerely hope that isn't true, as the cake was the literally driest oof us had ever encountered, the outside frosting far too sweet and gooey, and the mascarpone filling barely to be found. The limoncello flavor was nice and kept the cake from being wholly inedible, though not by much. I really wanted Figs to at least be decent since the east side location is so good. But the owners truly have destroyed the east side destination that was in this space for so long. read more

We chose FIGS to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and I'm so glad she did. This place is located off Tanque Verde and reservations are definitely recommended, especially for dinner. We arrived around 6:00 PM with a reservation, and the restaurant was packed. That said, even during peak dinner rush, the service and food timing were impressive. Everything came out fast without feeling rushed. That's execution done right. Huge shout-out to our waitress, Shanna. She absolutely elevated the entire experience. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and spot-on with her recommendations, we trusted her judgment on everything from drinks to appetizers, and she did not miss. MVP status. For appetizers, we started with the whipped feta and the Brussels sprouts and please do not skip the Brussels sprouts. These were next-level. Perfectly grilled with crispy onions, smoked bacon, fig balsamic glaze, honey, and lemon. Sweet, savory, crunchy, just outstanding. Easily some of the best Brussels sprouts I've had. The whipped feta appetizer was just as amazing. I mean, how can you go wrong with whipped feta topped with balsamic glaze fig glaze I believe and a healthy serving of pistachios can't go wrong. We also shared the Forge stone oven pizza, and wow. Thin, crispy crust with garlic cream sauce, tons of mozzarella, wild mushrooms, olives, and fresh arugula on top. Simple, balanced, and executed flawlessly. Zero regrets. Drinks were just as impressive. I had the Cheaper to Keep Her, which is basically an espresso martini elevated / upgraded. If you like espresso martinis, this is a must. We also tried the prickly pear margarita, which was another hit. On top of the food and service, the ambiance deserves credit. The lighting is warm and inviting not too bright. The noise level was perfect; we could actually have a conversation without shouting or straining to hear each other. That alone earns bonus points. Overall: excellent food, top-tier service, great atmosphere. We loved everything about this experience and will absolutely be back. FIGS is doing it right. read more

The location is great for me, and I visited it often when this location was previously Zona 78. I had a bad experience at Zona and had not been back prior to their closing. I was very excited to see this new concept. The set-up and decor are similar but with a darker, more intimate feel. I like this change. The menu has more of a fusion of flavors. My server was very kind and coursed out my order perfectly. Where my disappointment lies is with the food and wine. The wine I ordered (sauv blanc) was okay, but not crisply chilled as I had hoped. My appetizer was the charred brussels; the flavor was good but the ratio of the glaze to the brussel sprouts was off. There was too much and the brussels on the bottom were drowning in it and that interfered with the crispiness of the sprouts. I enjoyed my main, the yard bird picatta. The sauce was tart and the lemon balanced with the capers extremely well. My chicken was a little overcooked. I intend to visit again and try other items on the menu. read more

FIGS Oven + Enoteca feels like a restaurant that waited to open until it was ready--and that patience shows. I put this spot off for a few months, and I'm glad I did, because they've clearly found their rhythm. From start to finish, the service was exceptional--warm, confident, and genuinely hospitable. A special shout-out to our server, BJ (Brian James), who exemplified everything great service should be: attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without pretense, and effortlessly personable. He elevated the entire experience, from guiding us through the menu to setting a relaxed, welcoming tone for the evening. Service like his is not accidental--it reflects a well-run restaurant. The menu itself reads like a thoughtful journey along the Mediterranean shoreline--not anchored to one country, but influenced by many. There are subtle nods to Greek, Middle Eastern, North African, and broader Mediterranean flavors, all woven together in a way that feels cohesive rather than confused. While there isn't a dedicated vegan menu, there are plenty of plant-forward options and thoughtful choices, which I appreciated. We shared appetizers, enjoyed our mains, and my husband capped things off with dessert--everything arrived well-paced and beautifully executed. Pricing felt reasonable for the quality and care involved. What really elevates FIGS, though, is the ambiance. It's immersive without being theatrical. Instead of obvious nautical clichés, the space leans into suggestion: deep blues reminiscent of open water, rope accents, soft lantern lighting, and details that feel more seafaring traveler than themed restaurant. Even the mermaids on the women's restroom doors made me smile--whimsical, unexpected, and charming. This is an easy recommendation--equally suited for a date night or an evening out with friends. Thoughtful food, standout service, and an atmosphere that invites you to linger. FIGS feels like a welcome addition to the east side dining scene, and one I'll gladly return to. read more

Pleasant surprise, as I know the establishment has been through some changes. I felt that it was a nice warming atmosphere. Service was excellent. Server kept checking back. Never felt like we were lacking anything. Stone over bread email hot hot. It was delicious. I think it's a must order. Yardbird piccata was fantastic. Chicken was very tasty. Large portion. Linguine also was perfectly done as an accompaniment. Santorini cream fettuccine was light and flavorful. Nice wine list. Enjoyed the experience. Will return. read more

High hopes for this neighborhood spot, but I have left both meals we've had there feeling like something was off/missing. The food is okay, but feels overpriced for the quality. The staff is lovely though. We've preferred the breads/pasta dishes to some of their other offerings. For appetizers, the stone oven bread is pretty good - the bread is warm, tastes freshly made, and comes with ricotta, crispy onions, and fig jam. The chicken piccata was okay - the sauce had a good balance of lemon and cream, the housemade fettuccini was a nice al dente, but the chicken was overly breaded for my preference. I've also had the shawarma spiced steak frites which was disappointing; I could see the potential but the steak was overcooked. My husband has had the short rib and the al pastor shawarma which were fine, but did not match the price. The tiramisu was bland. read more

Like so many folks, I kinda miss Zona76 but had occasion for a late dinner last week and decided to try Figs. We made reservations just in case but at 7:30 the place was only about 2/3 full. We opted for outside patio since it was so nice out. There are six tables, kinda close together but still ok for private convo if need be. We split an appetizer (Hallaumi Cheese Fries $16) and a pizza (Forge $21). The "fries" are deceptively titled because they are actually (fancy schmancy) cheese sticks and tasted outstanding - chewy with a thin crunch on the outside (see pic). The pizza, we both agreed, had one of the best crusts we've ever had - not too thin, not too thick with an exceptional chew, yet still a light crispness to the crust. The fresh mozz and mushrooms were excellent. The lone misfire was the fresh arugula. A generous sprinkling is placed atop after baking. I disagree. It should be added with a minute or two to go in the oven to wilt it and temper its bitterness. Other than that, the experience only lacked in the chronically slow service we had (water, ordering, food arrival, bill... every step took an inordinate amount of time, especially given the lack of crowd). We'll definitely be back though to try some other fare (desserts!) and give the service a second chance. Small note: more and more businesses are calculating the tip After the tax has been added. It's a minor but nonetheless unconsented-to inflation of the tip. Just fyi :) read more

Zona 78 changed into a new concept and renamed Figs Oven and Enoteca. The interior is dressed up a bit and seating areas are basically the same. Our greeting person was double timing as a server tonight which made service a bit slow for us. Just a bit surprised for a Monday night. Not her fault since she was doing two functions. She was friendly and all went well. Our food was good. I had the lemon chicken piccata with fettuccine and the sauce was tart and flavorful. The chicken cooked perfectly loved the capers too. I did enjoy the serving size. The balance of the pasta with the protein was terrific. I did order the bread and spread. The bread was excellent but the spread was sweet with walnuts so not the best to go with my entree. I just wanted some bread with my entree. My husband ordered the pizza with the meatballs. He enjoyed it, but nothing special he said. read more

Came on a Friday night close to 8pm. It was still busy, but we were able to be seated quickly. There's a darker more intimate ambiance which was nice for date night. There's cauliflower dish we ordered was AMAZING! I loved the flavors, and the fresh taste the cilantro added. If I had to change anything, it would have just been ensuring they still had a crunch to them. It was also a pretty small dish for $15.. I think my husband and I both had 3 pieces, some big some small. For entrees, my husband ordered the chicken piccata, which was excellent! I had a short rib, which we both did not like very much.. the thick sauce on top was tangy and heavy, and just not for me. Thankfully, the server ensured all is well and I ended up getting the Bolognese instead, which was a lot better. For dessert I got the butterfingers cheesecake baklava to go... and was disappointed. They only detection of Butterfinger were the tiniest of butterfinger crumbs on the top. I guess the thought was that adding some nuts on top and chocolate sauce as well, with those crumbs made it Butterfinger but I was expecting more than this. I also did not see any cheesecake portion, though the dish was pretty big and fluffy. I really wish I could've tried the pistachio ice cream cake that the server spoke about being sold out. read more

Wow, the appetizer is absolutely delicious. Note to self, do not order it with the brown sugar/nut infused butter because it's literally like eating dessert before the entrée. Make sure you order boring, plain butter lol. The next was the breaded chicken with the fettuccine in creamy lemon sauce. It was absolutely scrumptious. The service was excellent. There was a little hiccup regarding my appetizer, but the server quickly remedied it and made sure I had everything I needed. I'll be back! read more

Made reservations ahead of time, seated immediately. Server was pleasant, drinks came quickly and very good. Ordered the Fig, arugula, Brie burger and house fries. The burger itself was cooked perfectly, disappointed in the small amount of Brie, I would like Brie in every bite but it was a VERY thin cut for the generous burger. The arugula was not the spicy arugula flavor that I was expecting, probably needed more than the 8 leaves that were on the bun. The house fries were like warm and lacked flavor. The service was great but the food just ehhh. Not noisy and nice ambiance. read more

Starting with the positive, the halloumi fries and Branzino were both tasty. Ragu bolognese unfortunately was mush upon arrival. The hummus was okay but the hummus to pita ratio is way off. Service!!! If you are a manager or have a stake in your business you will want to maybe consider reading this. Our server was nice. I ordered a bottle of your Spanish Tempranillo and she brought me a bottle of your Paso Robles red blend, even after double checking with me and me pointing to it on the menu. Presented the bottle before opening and that's when I caught the error. She went back, returned to say they changed their Tempranillo to another Spanish Tempranillo and said that was fine. She returned, opened the bottle and poured the sample and I immediately told her that something was not right. I asked to see the bottle and it was the exact same Paso Robles red blend! Because she opened it I said it was fine after pointing it out. We really didn't care at this point but it was more about the principle not the wine. Wasn't a big deal after that. Table maintenance wasn't very good. Had to ask for plates to be removed, water to be refilled and had to steal an extra setting from a vacant table. Again, our server was nice but not trained well and perhaps misdirected. We had to ask for our check. We split evenly 3 ways for our group of 6 and one of our guests had the itemized receipt and found out tip was included after we had already signed our checks. We didn't see it disclosed on the menu either but we weren't looking. We immediately scratched it out and I wrote a kind note to the server. As mediocre as our experience was, if she had disclosed that tip was included we would have still added more on top. She didn't so we didn't especially after trying to pass on a wine that wasn't what we ordered. read more

Lots of room for improvement. Figs is next to the frost gelato on tanque verde, parking was decent I was able to find a space no problem. MAKE A RESERVATION- this can be done via google. It's really cute inside, I loved the decor! The menu is well done and not overwhelming. We had a 6pm reservation and they don't really mark off tables they just move you to the front of the line so if you have a reservation be prepared to wait a bit for a table to open up. We maybe waited about 5-8 min. The service could be improved, they are still working out the kinks. They had servers go all over the restaurant, outside, bar, inside. They didn't have sections to which our waiter Billy really seemed passionate about trying to make sure we got our food and could check in and assured us he was going to talk to management about changing how things were done because the service really lacked unfortunately and not due to Billy not paying attention but just the workflow he was given. Dishes varied in temperatures, my mom had bolognese that was legitimately cold like not Luke warm but cold. I think this was the timing from the short rib I had because my dish was hot and fresh, the two others that came with had like warm food but we were all really hungry by the time food came. My mom took her pasta to go because no one came and checked on us during the entire meal and I actually had to get up and find our waiter to let him know we had cold food. We did get a free desert because of the cold pasta and they do offer 10% off right now anyway probably due to the known growing pains. It took about 2 hours total for just 4 people start to finish just because of service and timing issues. Now let's talk about the food itself. We had 3 appetizers, the whipped ricotta, charred Brussels, bread and spread. So these are VERY small they probably feed two people, the whipped ricotta comes with 3 slices of bread so not even 4 people could have one slice but the flavor was good and definitely delicious. The charred Brussels was also a portion size for 1-2 maybe 3 if you stretched it. Normal Brussels you'd get anywhere I wasn't wowed by them. The bread and spread was a last minute add due to hunger and it was maybe half a baguette and a butter composed of scallions in it. Bread was warm and fresh but definitely small. Main courses! The star of the show was the braised short rib, very flavorful, tender, carrots cooked perfect on a bed of mashed potatoes honestly an excellent dish. The gnocchi was great! Smaller portion size but flavor was on point. Fettuccini was great as well pretty well done dishes overall The desert was phenomenal, the lemon cello cake was PERFECTION it had a whipped icing, good lemon flavor and wasn't overly sweet and definitely shareable! Overall they are going through growing pains and have tons of potential I will probably be back in 6 months to give them another shot. They need better sized apps for the price and to get their timing right so everyone has hot food. read more

Always excited for a new restaurant in the east side, we went here with a friend visiting from out of town. I was especially excited for Mediterranean food--one of my favorites. Sadly, overall, the food was not good. We began with whipped ricotta. The way the menu described it, I was excited for the unique flavors added. However, it tasted like--ricotta. There was the barest hint of honey, but little else. Not per se bad, but something that tasted like a $5 side at a fast food style gyro shop. And with only three pieces of bread, it felt skimpy and the bread to dip ratio was way off. Onto mains. My husband had the bolognese which I tasted. The sauce was watery and by far the worst bolognese I've ever had. Nearly inedible. Not even sure how you can make such a flavorful sauce taste watery, but Figs managed it. Our friend tried the pizza. The crust had zero flavor. More bland than a stale saltine. And the toppings were skimpy, sauce barely there, and just overall unenjoyable. Possibly not fair to compare, but we had eaten a few days before at (also newish restaurant Penelope's), and the Penelope's crust is so flavorful. The best of the three dishes, I had the short ribs. The meat was flavorful and tender, the accompaniments adequate. If we'd only had the short ribs, I likely would have ranked this restaurant higher. oddly, their one decent dish was the one that wasn't Mediterranean! So while their more Mediterranean offerings were bland, the flavor packet showed up for the more French inspired dish on the menu. The umbrella of Mediterranean food offers some of the most flavorful and exciting cuisine options, so what happened to the flavor here?! I'm sad to say I cannot recommend this one. I wasn't a fan of Zona 78, and their rebrand has not improved the outcome. read more

This place is okay. Our first impression walking in was not the best. When we sat down, the plates were dirty. I'm talking bits of food, salt, and crumbs still on the plates. They seem to be struggling with bussing the area as well as the floors around the tables were not swept and garbage not picked up. It was dirty. They did just open so maybe they are still working on the dishwashing and bussing of the tables. Our waiter, Billy, was really great and his service was on point. He was quick to refill our drinks, take our order, etc. We ordered a couple of dishes. The appetizers were really good! We like the whipped ricotta and halloumi fries. The only down side is they brought three slices of bread for four of us. Billy did bring us extra bread when we brought it his attention so that was helpful. Our main entrees, gnocchi and short rib, were just okay. They were not worth the price. The short rib was dry and drowning in a heavy unappetizing sauce. It was like a dry pot roast. The gnocchi was very chewy and almost rubbery. I did not enjoy eating the gnocchi at all. Overall, I think this is a decent place for drinks and apps but I would skip ordering a full meal here. If you're looking for good pasta, I would recommend Locale or North Italia instead. read more

Atmosphere is as good as the last place that occupied this space. I am surprised they left the pasta making station in the middle of the place, but overall a very good vibe. Service was fast, friendly, and overall stellar. I had a drink, but when asked about mocktails my wife was told they didn't have anything interesting. Ok. The app was haloumi fries and they were fabulous. That had me excited about our mains. I had the short rib and my wife the lamb. The lamb was tough and overcooked to my taste. The short ribs was fantastic, but it was just chuck roast cut into what would be a large portion of short rib shape. It was still very tasty, but if there is no bone or place for a bone is it really a short rib? In the end we got the baklava cheese cake which is like a regular baklava with a layer of cheesecake. It was large and tasty. I waffled between a 3 and 4, but at their price point the tough lamb and substitute shortribs pulled it down. I will try again, so I may move it up. read more

I was excited to try this new restaurant in the Tanque Verde area. They have plenty of parking right outside the shopping strip they are located in and nice decor inside. Since they did recently open we made sure to make an advance reservation online. Customer service was really great from the moment we walked in when we were greeted by the hostess and from our waitress! They had a bar seating area on the left side of the wood fire pizza oven and restaurant seating on the right side. It looked like they might have an outdoor patio seating area, however I did not check it out. As for drinks, we enjoyed the Prickly Pear Margarita and the draft beer selection. We tried the Whipped Ricotta appetizer that was really good, however as others have mentioned they skimp on the bread that goes with it. I had the Citrus Herb Scallops that were perfectly cooked, but the vegetable kebab that came with the entree was inedible. All of the vegetables tasted like lighter fluid. Lastly, my partner tried the Sweet Potato Gnocchi, which was uniquely pan fried and a bit overly oily. I didn't try any of the desserts this time, so I'll have to save that for a follow-up visit. read more
