    Chicken schwarma
    Connie G.

I stopped in here around 10pm on a Saturday night. Downtown was busy and there was no crowd here. I had a chicken schwarma. It was ok but could have used more sauce and cucumbers. The bar next door was airing a boxing game that drew in a crowd, but luckily the noise inside the pita place was minimal. I ate facing the window and enjoyed some classic rock. Service was cordial, but the cashier seemed miffed that I only tipped 15 percent.

Chicken Shawarma Sandwich with Garlic Sauce Hummus

When this place first opened, I drove 40 minutes to try it out for the first time. The man at the register laughed and gave me a downtown discount when I told him. I'm happy to say, it was well worth the drive. I'm always eager for a good, fast casual Mediterranean restaurant and this joint ticks all the boxes. You can order the pita wraps (aka sandwiches) in regular or large, but the regular is well-sized and makes for a perfect lunch or dinner. I always order the chicken shawarma with garlic sauce - the pita wrap is warmed, the chicken is plentiful and excellently seasoned, the tomato/lettuce combo is fresh, and the garlic sauce itself is well-balanced. I don't know if I'm the only person who cares about this, but I was very happy with how tightly it was wrapped in the pita. Some pita "wraps" are so loosely put together it's more like a pita taco. But this is expertly wrapped as tight as a burrito. It's excellent! The menu isn't small, but it's succinct, which I think is a key to their success. They don't overwhelm themselves, and so put great care in everything they make. Well worth the drive, wherever you live!

Urban Pita is our good to go for casual date night! We weren't in the mood to dress up and spend a few hours dining out. We decided to grab some gyro pitas and call it a night Urban Pita is located on Congress in the same area as HiFi. We went at the wrong time (10:30pm Friday night) as there were so many people out but it didn't stop us We went in and right away, they were available to take our order. After 10 minutes, our food was ready to eat Their pitas are pretty big, I did not need to order another one The meat was delicious and juicy! I was really full before my last two bites. The staff are amazing and very helpful with answering our questions and suggesting their faves Thank you guys for being awesome!

Used to be good, not anymore. Gyro meat was tough and chewy, little overdone pieces. Not worth the challenge of finding somewhere to park

I was charged, given a confirmation number, and a pickup time of 7:37pm. When I arrived just after 7:30pm for my takeout, the employee came to the window and told me that they closed early and aren't doing anymore orders. When I showed him my confirmation email receipt he told me it doesn't matter and that I needed to go home. When I explained that I already paid and asked for a refund he flat out said no and that it's not his problem. When I pressed further for an explanation to why their website would take an order if they're closed and demanded a refund, he pretended not to understand me anymore and told me to leave. Caravan Grill is open until 8pm, this can be confirmed on Google and the hours posted on their door. I'm beyond frustrated that they would take my order, charge my card, and send me a confirmation email with a pickup time only to close early. Additionally, how can you charge me and then not provide the service I paid for and deny me a refund? Lastly, why the rude attitude with me like I'm at fault for ordering food. This is absolutely insane business practice. It truly feels illegal, because WTF am I suppose to do? They stole $50 from me! Confirmation email attached for proof

I was so excited because every restaurant I've tried through his recommendations has been fantastic. We were invited to enjoy a complimentary buffet they were hosting, which was such an unexpected treat. The first thing we noticed was the beautiful outdoor patio--perfect if you want to enjoy your meal in the fresh air. Inside, the restaurant felt welcoming, and the staff immediately made us feel at home. The owner, Ray, was there greeting guests and genuinely seemed excited to have everyone visiting. Once we got the go-ahead to check out the buffet, our eyes lit up. Everything looked incredible! Since this was our first visit, we weren't sure what to expect, but the presentation alone had us excited to dig in. (Just a note: this buffet was for a special event, so I'm not sure if it's offered during normal business hours.) We started with a fresh Mediterranean salad tossed in a bright lemon dressing that was absolutely delicious--although I may be a little biased because I can never resist a great salad! We also tried the hummus and baba ghanoush with crispy fried pita chips. Both dips were smooth, creamy, and packed with flavor. Next came the beef, lamb, and chicken shawarma. Each one had perfectly crisp edges while staying incredibly juicy and flavorful inside. We paired them with the tahini sauce, which added the perfect fresh finish. My absolute favorite parts of the meal were the pickled vegetables and the falafel. I already love pickled foods, but these were exceptional--not overly vinegary, just perfectly balanced with a fresh, tangy crunch. The real star of the meal, though, was the falafel. Honestly, I'm usually not the biggest falafel fan, but Med Cuisine completely changed my mind. We dipped it in their incredible garlic sauce (I believe it's called toum), and it was the perfect combination. The falafel was crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside, and bursting with flavor. I completely understand why it disappeared so quickly--I only wish I'd gone back for seconds before it was gone! We had such a wonderful experience and can't wait to come back. Next time, we're definitely saving room for dessert. Do yourself a favor and stop by Med Cuisine. Support this wonderful local business, enjoy some incredible Mediterranean food, and if you're lucky, you'll get the chance to meet Ray, whose hospitality makes the experience even more memorable. P.S. Please don't judge my plate in the photos--I served it myself! I'm sure the staff would have plated it much more beautifully than I did.

I got my usual vegetarian mezza so I can try it all. Ambiance: okay, a bit outdated. We were the only customers. I was thrown off getting water in plastic cups- instead of a glass. Service- okay. Minimal contact. Food: the bread threw me off as it was served in a plastic bag. It was odd. The dolmas has no flavor except for the grape leaf. The rice appeared to be only white rice and no spices? The lettuce/small salad was not edible. Not dressed and old lettuce. I got 2 cucumber slices to eat two dips- not enough. And used to getting a more tomato. The falafel was okay. The bread tasted old. I'm used to good Lebanese food and this missed the mark. I'm surprised by the reviews. The hummus and baba ganoush was 3/5. My husband had a spicy Lebanese sandwich, he said it was good. And the fries were soggy and greasy. With so many levant places, I won't be going here again. I guess I prefer the Iraqi, Syrian, and Turkish places in Tucson.
