Came here with my daughter after a concert at the Wang Theatre 05/10 it was very busy. The cashier was very pleasant, even though she was a little overwhelmed. The food was incredibly hot and very good took a little while because of how busy it was. We will definitely come back again if we are in the area. read more

Great place. great people. Great food. Love it! It was so good and the workers are so nice.

Not bad! I was excited to try this place after I found out they were finally bringing one to Boston. There are a few options for spice level. The spiciest has a waiver which my friend tried and it was no joke. I don't think I'll be trying that one anytime soon lol. I've had the very hot which was great and the fries are so good! The portions are huge so regardless of what you get it's worth the price. The service is great and the restaurant has a ton of seating inside and out. The graffiti on the walls was cool! Next time I'll try a shake and the other sides. read more

My only complaint about this location is I never get my full order.. I don't even feel comfortable ordering online for delivery anymore. 3/3 with this location that I'm always missing something. This time I'm missing the Dave's sauce which you pay extra for. I know it's only $.29 for one but that's not the point. If I'm paying for it, I expect it to be part of my meal. Last time I was there which was a couple weeks ago, I was missing the Mac and cheese that I subbed for. The food is great that is why I keep coming back but if this continues, I just might have to stop coming back... read more

Move over KFC, Popeyes, and Raising Cane's! There's a new king of chicken restaurant in town! I've gotten their food via Uber Eats and take out. I always get the #2 Combo which includes two Hot Chicken Sliders with Fries. Each chicken sandwich is topped with pickles and cole slaw and each combo contains a small container of Dave's sauce and additional pickles. No joke this is the best fried chicken that I've ever had in my life! The chicken was seasoned to perfection. It was spicy, but very delicious at the same time and had the perfect crispy and moist texture. Their menu is small and is basically just tenders, chicken sandwiches, milkshakes, and some sides, but they are good at what they do! The Dave's sauce is also amazing and I put it all over the fries and sandwich. Of note, if you review them on google or check in on yelp, you can get a free soft drink or milkshake. Also, if you download and use their app you can get a free milkshake that way too. read more

Sliders weee pretty good taste like Popeyes chicken sandwich. The spice level I got was hot, I thought it was pretty spicy and I have a big spice tolerance. The fries were also pretty good nice and crunchy and they give you so much pickles. I wish they gave more kale salad on the sliders read more

Dave's isn't bad but this time they burnt it and it looked worse in person it was a literal black and red color. Almost like mold. I told the lady it didn't look right. But she said it was like that... I asked if I could get another order that looked a little better or a refund but they chose to just give me a refund lol. read more

The restaurant is not what I expected. Everyone was ranting and raving about it on social media so I finally got a chance to try and I was not impressed. Everything was very spicy which I do not mind but I just didn't enjoy it. The thing is it was spicy but with no flavor, idk how to describe it. The price for a meal without a drink was wild. However, the guy who took my order was super nice and the place was clean. read more

Let's be honest - this place is so good that I think they're in danger of raising their prices after everyone finally realizes that they're the best value fried chicken in the game right now. The portions are generous, the flavor is insane (actually let's you get spicey), and the cost is pretty dang reasonable. When you compare to Chick-fil-a, Pop-eyes, or Cane's - they don't have nearly as much flavor and heart (and heartstopping oil) put into the chicken. The place was packed when I visited at 10 PM so can't say service was impeccable, but really don't mind since I came here for the food. I think the chaos of everyone wanting a piece is part of the vibe and the hype because the cult following is going. I definitely recommend if you are looking to compare fried chicken in the area. read more

Very annoyed with Dave's. Previously they got 5 stars all the way. Today they decided to help me with my diet (thank you) by serving me two kiddie sized tenders for the $15 adult sized price I payed for my meal. The only reason I can think of is that I didn't tip. Not gonna lie, my funds are a bit low right now so I didn't feel obligated to tip particularly when they don't bring the food to you. I'm literally picking it up myself so I don't even know what I'm tipping them for. I'm gonna give them one more chance. I will order from the app and see if they do me the same way. If they do I'm dropping to one star and won't be back. Pro tip: order from the app so that you don't have to tip when going in. Dave, bruh, if you want to charge 20 bucks for a 15 dollar meal just charge 20 bucks. Don't short your customers just because they want to pay the price on the menu. You have no waiters and it's not a sit down restaurant. What service are you tipping for? For the right to not get served a tiny tender from a baby chick that just got hatched? Nah bruh. read more

Dave's Hot Chicken - #Dave's #4 1 Slider with Fries - Chicken Shop Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

Once in a while, I would get cravings for Dave's Hot Chicken and I'm so happy they opened a location in South Boston! Dave's really only has one thing on their menu, chicken tenders, and they do it very well. We visited this branch on a Saturday night and although there wasn't a lot of customers dining in, they had a lot of mobile orders. We got their chicken tenders in the medium and lite mild spice levels with fries. The chicken was delicious, tender, and well flavored. Their spice levels are on the more tolerable side so I would recommend getting a higher spice level if you like the kick but the seasoning is always amazing regardless of spice. The fries are good as well, especially dipped into their special Dave's sauce. This store itself is on the smaller end with some seating. During warmer weather, they also have a number of outdoor seats available. However, your best bet is probably ordering delivery or takeout during their rush hours, which is a bit unfortunate as fried chicken doesn't travel very well. Additionally, the store gets a bit chaotic due to the lack of space when there are a number of people waiting for their orders. I hope that they are able to find a way to rearrange the pick up area for more standing room in the future. All the staff I interacted with are pleasant, especially the person who packaged my order and gave us extra Dave's sauce! read more

First time coming in yesterday 8/22/23 around 5:53pm to try my friend told me about it. I got a number 2 S-LITE MILD Add Cheese chicken sliders comes with fries and pickles and sauce. I got one with cheese and one without cheese. The bun was soft lasted fresh and the chicken was juicy and moist inside and the outside was crispy and had a little kick to it, it comes with slaw and pickles inside the slider the taste was really good! I liked both with cheese and without cheese they both started very good! The staff was friendly and Melanie T. that took my order was welcoming and had excellent customer service! The place was clean and had plenty of seating for inside and had outside seating. I would have gave 5 stars but my fries where way way to salty!!! But the pickles on the side and the sliders where delicious! read more

Mistou was really kind and sweet! Really patient with a lot of orders coming in. Busy but attentive to their guests. Thank you !!

Came in for a quick bite and was really impressed! It was super busy but the staff made sure I had everything I needed (it was my first time). Food was tasty! I ordered the #4, sliders with a side of sauce. Special thanks to the cashier (Ayoub I believe) for his great customer service and for helping me make up my mind! Lookin forward to coming back :) read more

There was a very hostile environment and the employees seem to hate their jobs. The food was not worth what we dealt with.

The atmosphere was good but the food is horrible. The chicken is nasty, it taste like Taco Bell seasoning. It was nasty and my 10 year old was very upset. The food is hyped , I prefer raising canes over Dave's hot chicken any day. Do not waste your money. It's gross. read more

The service was horrible waited 15 minutes to get my food the server package 13 meals before mine and I'm sitting in the store. I'd seen some many people hyping this up and since I love spicy chicken, I had to try it. Ordered delivery for a 2piece finger with fries, came with the Dave's sauce. Fries were good , seasoning could have been applied better. Did not like the Dave's sauce because it was too mustard forward. The white bread really serves no point with dry rub chicken. The chicken was truly a let down. Besides being dry, It was gummy and chew which means after a bite of each tender it's going in the trash. read more

The food is delicious but the wait was quite long. It seems like they were either understaffed or haven't figured out how to deal with the evening rush quite yet. I placed a mobile order and I think the kitchen got to it pretty quickly but the cashiers were struggling to get the orders distributed so I ended up waiting about 25/30 minutes read more

I prefer Chick Filet. I was not crazy about the chicken. I tried it and wasn't impressed.

Some of the best hot chicken I've had in greater Boston. I passed by the Dave's in newton several times but never pulled the trigger on trying it until they opened up in South Bay. I scoffed at their menu prices ($13 for 2 tenders and Fries? Really?) and was initially skeptical. Dave's only has a couple of menu options as a heads up so there's not a lot to choose from but you can customize your heat level. I got their combo #3 which includes a chicken burger, 1 tender and fries for about $14 and I'm so glad to report that it was worth every penny. Don't let it fool you, it's a good amount of food. I can usually kill multiple pieces of fried chicken but I was full after 1 tender and some fries from Dave's and split it into 2 meals. The chicken is juicy and the burger has a nice slaw that comes with it. I especially loved the heat that Dave's was able to deliver - I got the extra spicy and if you're sadistic like me and love your lips to burn from spicy food you won't be disappointed. read more

This was my first time trying Dave's Hot Chicken. They have a range of chicken spiciness ranging no spice to the reaperI started with the no spice so I could get a feel for the quality of the chicken and portions. The portion size is just about right, maybe a little more than some can handle even though it may list two tenders. As well the chicken was good in quality and flavor, just as plain. Now if you're looking for a place that has over 100 chicken dishes, this is not the place. They keep it simple, based off of a boneless chicken tender. You can get chicken tenders or chicken sliders with fries, coleslaw and pickles with and possible combination within. Expect the service to be a bit slow since it is popular, it's on par with Chick Fil A and other food places, nothing uncommon nowadays in 2023. As time goes on I will venture down the scoville road trying the spices. read more

Phenomenal chicken - the whole meal was honestly delicious. Some of the best chicken I've ever had. That said, the practice of asking for 18 to 25% tip for a fast food takeout is really off putting. Raise the prices if you need to - don't put the customer in the uncomfortable position of choosing to "tip" right in front of the watching cashier. Reserving a 5th star because that's a really negative experience. All they're doing is packing the food and handing it to you - this isn't tip worthy. read more

This chicken is so dang good! I tried the tenders, I got one "hot" and one "extra hot" -- they were spicy but also so flavorful and delicious! I want to try the reaper next time. My friend got the mild ones and enjoyed them as well. I liked that it came with pickles, too. We will definitely be back - awesome lunch spot! Food was also hot and very fresh tasting, so A++ to the cooks also! Thanks Dave's, glad you're in Boston! read more

We are visiting from out of town and my boyfriend's daughter and friends ordered from this place. Luckily, my boyfriend and I wanted to eat something else. Restaurant was nice bright and clean. Fairly busy as many tables were full and patrons waiting for orders. Things moved smoothly and swiftly. We ordered a one strip sandwich meal and a two strip sandwich meal both with fries. Bread was nice and soft, chicken was cooked well with just the right amount of spice. My son got medium and I ordered mild. I could have gotten medium and been fine with slice level. Fries were perfect. Nothing stellar but nothing bad either. read more

Hard to tell how good the food was. The delivery guy (Grub Hub) couldn't be bothered to bring the food into the hotel and left it outside the door. There was no text, no call - just toss and leave.
